Deuteronomy 4
Nowe therefore hearken, O Israel, vnto the Statutes, and vnto the Iudgments which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may liue, and goe in and possesse the lande, which the LORD God of your fathers giueth you.
GenevaNowe therefore hearken, O Israel, vnto the ordinances and to the lawes which I teache you to doe, that ye may liue and goe in, and possesse the lande, which the Lord God of your fathers giueth you.
וְ/עַתָּ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל שְׁמַ֤ע אֶל הַֽ/חֻקִּים֙ וְ/אֶל הַ/מִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָֽנֹכִ֛י מְלַמֵּ֥ד אֶתְ/כֶ֖ם לַ/עֲשׂ֑וֹת לְמַ֣עַן תִּֽחְי֗וּ וּ/בָאתֶם֙ וִֽ/ירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם אֶת הָ/אָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֹתֵי/כֶ֖ם נֹתֵ֥ן לָ/כֶֽם
Ye shall not adde vnto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that ye may keepe the Commaundements of the LORD your God, which I command you.
GenevaYe shall put nothing vnto the word which I command you, neither shall ye take ought there from, that ye may keepe the commandements of the Lord your God which I commande you.
לֹ֣א תֹסִ֗פוּ עַל הַ/דָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנֹכִי֙ מְצַוֶּ֣ה אֶתְ/כֶ֔ם וְ/לֹ֥א תִגְרְע֖וּ מִמֶּ֑/נּוּ לִ/שְׁמֹ֗ר אֶת מִצְוֺת֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵי/כֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י מְצַוֶּ֥ה אֶתְ/כֶֽם
Your eyes haue seene what the LORD did because of Baal Peor: for all the men that followed Baal Peor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
GenevaYour eyes haue seene what the Lord did because of Baal-Peor, for al the men that folowed Baal-Peor the Lord thy God hath destroyed euery one from among you.
עֵֽינֵי/כֶם֙ הָֽ/רֹאֹ֔ת אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה בְּ/בַ֣עַל פְּע֑וֹר כִּ֣י כָל הָ/אִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָלַךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י בַֽעַל פְּע֔וֹר הִשְׁמִיד֛/וֹ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖י/ךָ מִ/קִּרְבֶּֽ/ךָ
But yee that did cleaue vnto the LORD your God, are aliue euery one of you this day.
GenevaBut ye that did cleaue vnto the Lord your God, are aliue euery one of you this day.
וְ/אַתֶּם֙ הַ/דְּבֵקִ֔ים בַּ/יהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵי/כֶ֑ם חַיִּ֥ים כֻּלְּ/כֶ֖ם הַ/יּֽוֹם
Behold, I haue taught you Statutes, and Iudgements, euen as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so, in the land whither ye goe to possesse it.
GenevaBehold, I haue taught you ordinances, and lawes, as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should doe euen so within the land whither ye goe to possesse it.
רְאֵ֣ה לִמַּ֣דְתִּי אֶתְ/כֶ֗ם חֻקִּים֙ וּ/מִשְׁפָּטִ֔ים כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוַּ֖/נִי יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑/י לַ/עֲשׂ֣וֹת כֵּ֔ן בְּ/קֶ֣רֶב הָ/אָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם בָּאִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּ/ה לְ/רִשְׁתָּֽ/הּ
Keepe therefore, and doe them; for this is your wisedome and your vnderstanding in the sight of the nations, which shall heare all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and vnderstanding people.
GenevaKeepe them therefore, and doe them; for that is your wisdome, and your vnderstanding in the sight of the people, which shall heare all these ordinances, and shall say, Onely this people is wise, and of vnderstanding, and a great nation.
וּ/שְׁמַרְתֶּם֮ וַ/עֲשִׂיתֶם֒ כִּ֣י הִ֤וא חָכְמַתְ/כֶם֙ וּ/בִ֣ינַתְ/כֶ֔ם לְ/עֵינֵ֖י הָ/עַמִּ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשְׁמְע֗וּ/ן אֵ֚ת כָּל הַ/חֻקִּ֣ים הָ/אֵ֔לֶּה וְ/אָמְר֗וּ רַ֚ק עַם חָכָ֣ם וְ/נָב֔וֹן הַ/גּ֥וֹי הַ/גָּד֖וֹל הַ/זֶּֽה
For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh vnto them, as the LORD our God is in all things, that we call vpon him for?
GenevaFor what nation is so great, vnto whome the gods come so neere vnto them, as the Lord our God is neere vnto vs, in all that we call vnto him for?
כִּ֚י מִי ג֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר ל֥/וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים קְרֹבִ֣ים אֵלָ֑י/ו כַּ/יהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔י/נוּ בְּ/כָּל קָרְאֵ֖/נוּ אֵלָֽי/ו
And what nation is there so great, that hath Statutes and Iudgements so righteous, as all this Law which I set before you this day?
GenevaAnd what nation is so great, that hath ordinances and lawes so righteous, as all this Lawe, which I set before you this day?
וּ/מִי֙ גּ֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר ל֛/וֹ חֻקִּ֥ים וּ/מִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים צַדִּיקִ֑ם כְּ/כֹל֙ הַ/תּוֹרָ֣ה הַ/זֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י נֹתֵ֥ן לִ/פְנֵי/כֶ֖ם הַ/יּֽוֹם
Onely take heed to thy selfe, and keepe thy soule diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes haue seene, and lest they depart from thy heart all the dayes of thy life: but teach them thy sonnes, & thy sonnes sonnes:

רַ֡ק הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְ/ךָ֩ וּ/שְׁמֹ֨ר נַפְשְׁ/ךָ֜ מְאֹ֗ד פֶּן תִּשְׁכַּ֨ח אֶת הַ/דְּבָרִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר רָא֣וּ עֵינֶ֗י/ךָ וּ/פֶן יָס֨וּרוּ֙ מִ/לְּבָ֣בְ/ךָ֔ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּ֑י/ךָ וְ/הוֹדַעְתָּ֥/ם לְ/בָנֶ֖י/ךָ וְ/לִ/בְנֵ֥י בָנֶֽי/ךָ
Specially, the day that thou stoodst before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said vnto mee, Gather me the people together, and I will make them heare my wordes, that they may learne to feare mee all the dayes that they shall liue vpon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
GenevaForget not the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in Horeb, when the Lord said vnto me, Gather me the people together, and I wil cause them heare my wordes, that they may learne to feare me all the dayes that they shall liue vpon the earth, and that they may teache their children:
י֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָמַ֜דְתָּ לִ/פְנֵ֨י יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶי/ךָ֮ בְּ/חֹרֵב֒ בֶּ/אֱמֹ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗/י הַקְהֶל לִ/י֙ אֶת הָ/עָ֔ם וְ/אַשְׁמִעֵ֖/ם אֶת דְּבָרָ֑/י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִלְמְד֜וּ/ן לְ/יִרְאָ֣ה אֹתִ֗/י כָּל הַ/יָּמִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵ֤ם חַיִּים֙ עַל הָ֣/אֲדָמָ֔ה וְ/אֶת בְּנֵי/הֶ֖ם יְלַמֵּדֽוּ/ן
And ye came neere and stood vnder the mountaine, and the mountaine burnt with fire vnto the midst of heauen, with darkenes, cloudes, and thicke darkenesse.
GenevaThen came you neere and stoode vnder the mountaine, and the mountaine burnt with fire vnto the mids of heauen, and there was darkenesse, cloudes and mist.
וַ/תִּקְרְב֥וּ/ן וַ/תַּֽעַמְד֖וּ/ן תַּ֣חַת הָ/הָ֑ר וְ/הָ/הָ֞ר בֹּעֵ֤ר בָּ/אֵשׁ֙ עַד לֵ֣ב הַ/שָּׁמַ֔יִם חֹ֖שֶׁךְ עָנָ֥ן וַ/עֲרָפֶֽל
And the LORD spake vnto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voyce of the words, but saw no similitude, onely ye heard a voyce.
GenevaAnd the Lord spake vnto you out of the middes of the fire, and ye heard the voyce of the wordes, but sawe no similitude, saue a voyce.
וַ/יְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֲלֵי/כֶ֖ם מִ/תּ֣וֹךְ הָ/אֵ֑שׁ ק֤וֹל דְּבָרִים֙ אַתֶּ֣ם שֹׁמְעִ֔ים וּ/תְמוּנָ֛ה אֵינְ/כֶ֥ם רֹאִ֖ים זוּלָתִ֥י קֽוֹל
And he declared vnto you his couenant, which he commanded you to performe, euen ten cōmandements, and he wrote them vpon two tables of stone.
GenevaThen hee declared vnto you his couenant which he commanded you to doe, euen the ten commandements, and wrote them vpon two tables of stone.
וַ/יַּגֵּ֨ד לָ/כֶ֜ם אֶת בְּרִית֗/וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה אֶתְ/כֶם֙ לַ/עֲשׂ֔וֹת עֲשֶׂ֖רֶת הַ/דְּבָרִ֑ים וַֽ/יִּכְתְּבֵ֔/ם עַל שְׁנֵ֖י לֻח֥וֹת אֲבָנִֽים
¶ And the LORD commanded me at that time, to teach you Statutes, and Iudgements, that yee might doe them in the land whither ye goe ouer to possesse it.
GenevaAnd the Lord commanded me that same time, that I should teach you ordinances and lawes, which ye should obserue in the lande, whither ye goe, to possesse it.
וְ/אֹתִ֞/י צִוָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ בָּ/עֵ֣ת הַ/הִ֔וא לְ/לַמֵּ֣ד אֶתְ/כֶ֔ם חֻקִּ֖ים וּ/מִשְׁפָּטִ֑ים לַ/עֲשֹׂתְ/כֶ֣ם אֹתָ֔/ם בָּ/אָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּ/ה לְ/רִשְׁתָּֽ/הּ
Take ye therfore good heed vnto your selues, (for ye saw no maner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake vnto you in Horeb, out of the midst of the fire)
GenevaTake therefore good heede vnto your selues: for ye sawe no image in the day that the Lord spake vnto you in Horeb out of the middes of the fire:
וְ/נִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥ם מְאֹ֖ד לְ/נַפְשֹׁתֵי/כֶ֑ם כִּ֣י לֹ֤א רְאִיתֶם֙ כָּל תְּמוּנָ֔ה בְּ/י֗וֹם דִּבֶּ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה אֲלֵי/כֶ֛ם בְּ/חֹרֵ֖ב מִ/תּ֥וֹךְ הָ/אֵֽשׁ
Lest yee corrupt your selues, and make you a grauen image, the similitude of any figure, the likenes of male, or female,
GenevaThat ye corrupt not your selues, and make you a grauen image or representation of any figure: whither it be the likenes of male or female,
פֶּ֨ן תַּשְׁחִת֔וּ/ן וַ/עֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם לָ/כֶ֛ם פֶּ֖סֶל תְּמוּנַ֣ת כָּל סָ֑מֶל תַּבְנִ֥ית זָכָ֖ר א֥וֹ נְקֵבָֽה
The likenesse of any beast that is on the earth, the likenes of any winged foule that flieth in the aire,
GenevaThe likenes of any beast that is on earth, or the likenesse of any fethered foule that flieth in the aire:
תַּבְנִ֕ית כָּל בְּהֵמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּ/אָ֑רֶץ תַּבְנִית֙ כָּל צִפּ֣וֹר כָּנָ֔ף אֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּע֖וּף בַּ/שָּׁמָֽיִם
The likenesse of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likenesse of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
GenevaOr the likenesse of any thing that creepeth on the earth, or the likenesse of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth,
תַּבְנִ֕ית כָּל רֹמֵ֖שׂ בָּ/אֲדָמָ֑ה תַּבְנִ֛ית כָּל דָּגָ֥ה אֲשֶׁר בַּ/מַּ֖יִם מִ/תַּ֥חַת לָ/אָֽרֶץ
And lest thou lift vp thine eyes vnto heauen, and when thou seest the sun, and the moone, and the starres, euen all the hoste of heauen, shouldest be driuen to worship them, and serue them, which the LORD thy God hath diuided vnto all nations vnder the whole heauen.
GenevaAnd lest thou lift vp thine eyes vnto heauen, and when thou seest the sunne and the moone and the starres with all the host of heauen, shouldest bee driuen to worship them and serue them, which the Lord thy God hath distributed to all people vnder the whole heauen.
וּ/פֶן תִּשָּׂ֨א עֵינֶ֜י/ךָ הַ/שָּׁמַ֗יְמָ/ה וְֽ֠/רָאִיתָ אֶת הַ/שֶּׁ֨מֶשׁ וְ/אֶת הַ/יָּרֵ֜חַ וְ/אֶת הַ/כּֽוֹכָבִ֗ים כֹּ֚ל צְבָ֣א הַ/שָּׁמַ֔יִם וְ/נִדַּחְתָּ֛ וְ/הִשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥יתָ לָ/הֶ֖ם וַ/עֲבַדְתָּ֑/ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָלַ֜ק יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨י/ךָ֙ אֹתָ֔/ם לְ/כֹל֙ הָֽ/עַמִּ֔ים תַּ֖חַת כָּל הַ/שָּׁמָֽיִם
But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you foorth out of the yron fornace, euen out of Egypt, to bee vnto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
GenevaBut the Lord hath taken you and brought you out of the yron fornace: out of Egypt to be vnto him a people and inheritance, as appeareth this day.
וְ/אֶתְ/כֶם֙ לָקַ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה וַ/יּוֹצִ֥א אֶתְ/כֶ֛ם מִ/כּ֥וּר הַ/בַּרְזֶ֖ל מִ/מִּצְרָ֑יִם לִ/הְי֥וֹת ל֛/וֹ לְ/עַ֥ם נַחֲלָ֖ה כַּ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/זֶּֽה
Furthermore, the LORD was angry with mee for your sakes, and sware that I should not goe ouer Iordan, and that I should not goe in vnto that good land which the LORD thy God giueth thee for an inheritance.
GenevaAnd the Lord was angrie with me for your words, and sware that I should not goe ouer Iorden, and that I should not goe in vnto that good land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee for an inheritance.
וַֽ/יהוָ֥ה הִתְאַנֶּף בִּ֖/י עַל דִּבְרֵי/כֶ֑ם וַ/יִּשָּׁבַ֗ע לְ/בִלְתִּ֤י עָבְרִ/י֙ אֶת הַ/יַּרְדֵּ֔ן וּ/לְ/בִלְתִּי בֹא֙ אֶל הָ/אָ֣רֶץ הַ/טּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔י/ךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְ/ךָ֖ נַחֲלָֽה
But I must die in this lande, I must not goe ouer Iordan: but ye shall goe ouer and possesse that good land.
GenevaFor I must die in this land, and shall not go ouer Iorden: but ye shall goe ouer, and possesse that good land.
כִּ֣י אָנֹכִ֥י מֵת֙ בָּ/אָ֣רֶץ הַ/זֹּ֔את אֵינֶ֥/נִּי עֹבֵ֖ר אֶת הַ/יַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְ/אַתֶּם֙ עֹֽבְרִ֔ים וִֽ/ירִשְׁתֶּ֕ם אֶת הָ/אָ֥רֶץ הַ/טּוֹבָ֖ה הַ/זֹּֽאת
Take heed vnto your selues, lest ye forget the couenant of the LORD your God, which hee made with you, and make you a grauen image, or the likenes of any thing which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
GenevaTake heede vnto your selues, least ye forget the couenant of the Lord your God which hee made with you, and least ye make you any grauen image, or likenes of any thing, as the Lord thy God hath charged thee.
הִשָּׁמְר֣וּ לָ/כֶ֗ם פֶּֽן תִּשְׁכְּחוּ֙ אֶת בְּרִ֤ית יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵי/כֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖ת עִמָּ/כֶ֑ם וַ/עֲשִׂיתֶ֨ם לָ/כֶ֥ם פֶּ֨סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוְּ/ךָ֖ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽי/ךָ
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, euen a iealous God.
GenevaFor the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, and a ielous God.
כִּ֚י יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔י/ךָ אֵ֥שׁ אֹכְלָ֖ה ה֑וּא אֵ֖ל קַנָּֽא
¶ When thou shalt beget children, and childrens children, and shalt haue remained long in the land, and shal corrupt your selues, & make a grauen image, or the likenes of any thing, and shall doe euil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to prouoke him to anger:
GenevaWhen thou shalt beget children and childrens children, and shalt haue remained long in the land, if ye corrupt your selues, and make any grauen image, or likenes of any thing, and worke euill in the sight of the Lord thy God, to prouoke him to anger,
כִּֽי תוֹלִ֤יד בָּנִים֙ וּ/בְנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים וְ/נוֹשַׁנְתֶּ֖ם בָּ/אָ֑רֶץ וְ/הִשְׁחַתֶּ֗ם וַ/עֲשִׂ֤יתֶם פֶּ֨סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל וַ/עֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם הָ/רַ֛ע בְּ/עֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה אֱלֹהֶ֖י/ךָ לְ/הַכְעִיסֽ/וֹ
I call heauen and earth to witnesse against you this day, that ye shall soone vtterly perish from off the land whereunto you goe ouer Iordan, to possesse it: yee shall not prolong your dayes vpon it, but shall vtterly bee destroyed.
GenevaI call heauen and earth to record against you this day, that ye shall shortly perish from the land, whereunto ye goe ouer Iorden to possesse it: ye shall not prolong your dayes therein, but shall vtterly be destroyed.
הַעִידֹתִי֩ בָ/כֶ֨ם הַ/יּ֜וֹם אֶת הַ/שָּׁמַ֣יִם וְ/אֶת הָ/אָ֗רֶץ כִּֽי אָבֹ֣ד תֹּאבֵדוּ/ן֮ מַהֵר֒ מֵ/עַ֣ל הָ/אָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֜ם עֹבְרִ֧ים אֶת הַ/יַּרְדֵּ֛ן שָׁ֖מָּ/ה לְ/רִשְׁתָּ֑/הּ לֹֽא תַאֲרִיכֻ֤/ן יָמִים֙ עָלֶ֔י/הָ כִּ֥י הִשָּׁמֵ֖ד תִּשָּׁמֵדֽוּ/ן
And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
GenevaAnd the Lord shall scatter you among the people, and ye shall be left few in nomber among the nations, whither the Lord shall bring you:
וְ/הֵפִ֧יץ יְהוָ֛ה אֶתְ/כֶ֖ם בָּ/עַמִּ֑ים וְ/נִשְׁאַרְתֶּם֙ מְתֵ֣י מִסְפָּ֔ר בַּ/גּוֹיִ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְנַהֵ֧ג יְהוָ֛ה אֶתְ/כֶ֖ם שָֽׁמָּ/ה
And there ye shall serue gods, the worke of mens hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor heare, nor eate, nor smell.
GenevaAnd there ye shall serue gods, euen ye worke of mans hand, wood, and stone, which neither see, nor heare, nor eate, nor smelll.
וַ/עֲבַדְתֶּם שָׁ֣ם אֱלֹהִ֔ים מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יְדֵ֣י אָדָ֑ם עֵ֣ץ וָ/אֶ֔בֶן אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא יִרְאוּ/ן֙ וְ/לֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּ/ן וְ/לֹ֥א יֹֽאכְל֖וּ/ן וְ/לֹ֥א יְרִיחֻֽ/ן
But if from thence thou shalt seeke the LORD thy God, thou shalt finde him, if thou seeke him with all thy heart, and with all thy soule.
GenevaBut if from thence thou shalt seeke the Lord thy God, thou shalt finde him, if thou seeke him with all thine heart, and with all thy soule.
וּ/בִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם מִ/שָּׁ֛ם אֶת יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖י/ךָ וּ/מָצָ֑אתָ כִּ֣י תִדְרְשֶׁ֔/נּוּ בְּ/כָל לְבָבְ/ךָ֖ וּ/בְ/כָל נַפְשֶֽׁ/ךָ
When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come vpon thee, euen in the latter dayes, if thou turne to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient vnto his voice:
GenevaWhen thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come vpon thee, at the length if thou returne to the Lord thy God, and bee obedient vnto his voyce,
בַּ/צַּ֣ר לְ/ךָ֔ וּ/מְצָא֕וּ/ךָ כֹּ֖ל הַ/דְּבָרִ֣ים הָ/אֵ֑לֶּה בְּ/אַחֲרִית֙ הַ/יָּמִ֔ים וְ/שַׁבְתָּ֙ עַד יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔י/ךָ וְ/שָׁמַעְתָּ֖ בְּ/קֹלֽ/וֹ
(For the LORD thy God is a mercifull God) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the couenant of thy fathers, which he sware vnto them.
Geneva(For the Lord thy God is a mercifull God) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the couenant of thy fathers, which hee sware vnto them.
כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל רַחוּם֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔י/ךָ לֹ֥א יַרְפְּ/ךָ֖ וְ/לֹ֣א יַשְׁחִיתֶ֑/ךָ וְ/לֹ֤א יִשְׁכַּח֙ אֶת בְּרִ֣ית אֲבֹתֶ֔י/ךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לָ/הֶֽם
For aske now of the dayes that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man vpon earth, and aske from the one side of heauen vnto the other, whether there hath bene any such thing as this great thing is, or hath bene heard like it?

Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know, that the LORD hee is God; there is none else besides him.

¶ Then Moses seuered three cities on this side Iordan, toward the Sunne rising:

Namely, Bezer in the wildernesse, in the plaine countrey of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.
