Genesis 45
Then Ioseph could not refraine himselfe before all them that stood by him: and he cried, Cause euery man to goe out from me; and there stood no man with him, while Ioseph made himselfe knowen vnto his brethren.
GenevaThen Ioseph could not refraine him selfe before all that stoode by him, but hee cryed, Haue forth euery man from me. And there taryed not one with him, while Ioseph vttered himselfe vnto his brethren.
וְ/לֹֽא יָכֹ֨ל יוֹסֵ֜ף לְ/הִתְאַפֵּ֗ק לְ/כֹ֤ל הַ/נִּצָּבִים֙ עָלָ֔י/ו וַ/יִּקְרָ֕א הוֹצִ֥יאוּ כָל אִ֖ישׁ מֵ/עָלָ֑/י וְ/לֹא עָ֤מַד אִישׁ֙ אִתּ֔/וֹ בְּ/הִתְוַדַּ֥ע יוֹסֵ֖ף אֶל אֶחָֽי/ו
And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians, and the house of Pharaoh heard.
GenevaAnd hee wept and cried, so that the Egyptians heard: the house of Pharaoh heard also.
וַ/יִּתֵּ֥ן אֶת קֹל֖/וֹ בִּ/בְכִ֑י וַ/יִּשְׁמְע֣וּ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַ/יִּשְׁמַ֖ע בֵּ֥ית פַּרְעֹֽה
And Ioseph said vnto his brethren, I am Ioseph; Doeth my father yet liue? and his brethren could not answere him: for they were troubled at his presence.
GenevaThen Ioseph sayde to his brethren, I am Ioseph: doeth my father yet liue? But his brethren coulde not answere him, for they were astonished at his presence.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר יוֹסֵ֤ף אֶל אֶחָי/ו֙ אֲנִ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף הַ/ע֥וֹד אָבִ֖/י חָ֑י וְ/לֹֽא יָכְל֤וּ אֶחָי/ו֙ לַ/עֲנ֣וֹת אֹת֔/וֹ כִּ֥י נִבְהֲל֖וּ מִ/פָּנָֽי/ו
And Ioseph said vnto his brethren, Come neere to me, I pray you: and they came neere; and he said, I am Ioseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
GenevaAgaine, Ioseph sayde to his brethren, Come neere, I pray you, to mee. And they came neere. And he sayde, I am Ioseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר יוֹסֵ֧ף אֶל אֶחָ֛י/ו גְּשׁוּ נָ֥א אֵלַ֖/י וַ/יִּגָּ֑שׁוּ וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר אֲנִי֙ יוֹסֵ֣ף אֲחִי/כֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר מְכַרְתֶּ֥ם אֹתִ֖/י מִצְרָֽיְמָ/ה
Now therefore bee not grieued, nor angry with your selues, that yee sold me hither: for God did send me before you, to preserue life.
GenevaNowe therefore be not sad, neither grieued with your selues, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you for your preseruation.
וְ/עַתָּ֣ה אַל תֵּעָ֣צְב֗וּ וְ/אַל יִ֨חַר֙ בְּ/עֵ֣ינֵי/כֶ֔ם כִּֽי מְכַרְתֶּ֥ם אֹתִ֖/י הֵ֑נָּה כִּ֣י לְ/מִֽחְיָ֔ה שְׁלָחַ֥/נִי אֱלֹהִ֖ים לִ/פְנֵי/כֶֽם
For these two yeeres hath the famine bene in the land: and yet there are fiue yeeres, in the which there shall neither be earing nor haruest.
GenevaFor nowe two yeeres of famine haue bene through ye land, and fiue yeeres are behind, wherein neither shalbe earing nor haruest.
כִּי זֶ֛ה שְׁנָתַ֥יִם הָ/רָעָ֖ב בְּ/קֶ֣רֶב הָ/אָ֑רֶץ וְ/עוֹד֙ חָמֵ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵין חָרִ֖ישׁ וְ/קָצִּֽיר
And God sent me before you, to preserue you a posteritie in the earth, and to saue your liues by a great deliuerance.
GenevaWherefore God sent me before you to preserue your posteritie in this land, and to saue you aliue by a great deliuerance.
וַ/יִּשְׁלָחֵ֤/נִי אֱלֹהִים֙ לִ/פְנֵי/כֶ֔ם לָ/שׂ֥וּם לָ/כֶ֛ם שְׁאֵרִ֖ית בָּ/אָ֑רֶץ וּ/לְ/הַחֲי֣וֹת לָ/כֶ֔ם לִ/פְלֵיטָ֖ה גְּדֹלָֽה
So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
GenevaNow the you sent not me hither, but God, who hath made mee a father vnto Pharaoh, and lorde of all his house, and ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
וְ/עַתָּ֗ה לֹֽא אַתֶּ֞ם שְׁלַחְתֶּ֤ם אֹתִ/י֙ הֵ֔נָּה כִּ֖י הָ/אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַ/יְשִׂימֵ֨/נִֽי לְ/אָ֜ב לְ/פַרְעֹ֗ה וּ/לְ/אָדוֹן֙ לְ/כָל בֵּית֔/וֹ וּ/מֹשֵׁ֖ל בְּ/כָל אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם
Haste you, and goe vp to my father, and say vnto him, Thus saith thy sonne Ioseph; God hath made me lord of all Egypt; come downe vnto me, tary not.
GenevaHaste you and go vp to my father, and tel him, Thus saieth thy sonne Ioseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come downe to me, tary not.
מַהֲרוּ֮ וַ/עֲל֣וּ אֶל אָבִ/י֒ וַ/אֲמַרְתֶּ֣ם אֵלָ֗י/ו כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ בִּנְ/ךָ֣ יוֹסֵ֔ף שָׂמַ֧/נִי אֱלֹהִ֛ים לְ/אָד֖וֹן לְ/כָל מִצְרָ֑יִם רְדָ֥/ה אֵלַ֖/י אַֽל תַּעֲמֹֽד
And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be neere vnto me, thou, and thy children, and thy childrens children, and thy flockes, and thy heards, and all that thou hast.
GenevaAnd thou shalt dwel in ye land of Goshen, and shalt be neere me, thou and thy children, and thy childrens children, and thy sheepe, and thy beastes, and all that thou hast.
וְ/יָשַׁבְתָּ֣ בְ/אֶֽרֶץ גֹּ֗שֶׁן וְ/הָיִ֤יתָ קָרוֹב֙ אֵלַ֔/י אַתָּ֕ה וּ/בָנֶ֖י/ךָ וּ/בְנֵ֣י בָנֶ֑י/ךָ וְ/צֹאנְ/ךָ֥ וּ/בְקָרְ/ךָ֖ וְ/כָל אֲשֶׁר לָֽ/ךְ
And there wil I nourish thee, (for yet there are fiue yeeres of famine) lest thou and thy houshold, and all that thou hast, come to pouertie.
GenevaAlso I will nourish thee there (for yet remaine fiue yeeres of famine) lest thou perish through pouertie, thou and thy houshold, and all that thou hast.
וְ/כִלְכַּלְתִּ֤י אֹֽתְ/ךָ֙ שָׁ֔ם כִּי ע֛וֹד חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים רָעָ֑ב פֶּן תִּוָּרֵ֛שׁ אַתָּ֥ה וּ/בֵֽיתְ/ךָ֖ וְ/כָל אֲשֶׁר לָֽ/ךְ
And behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Beniamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh vnto you.
GenevaAnd behold, your eyes doe see, and the eyes of my brother Beniamin, that my mouth speaketh to you.
וְ/הִנֵּ֤ה עֵֽינֵי/כֶם֙ רֹא֔וֹת וְ/עֵינֵ֖י אָחִ֣/י בִנְיָמִ֑ין כִּי פִ֖/י הַֽ/מְדַבֵּ֥ר אֲלֵי/כֶֽם
And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you haue seene, and ye shall haste, and bring downe my father hither.
GenevaTherefore tel my father of al mine honour in Egypt, and of all that ye haue seene, and make haste, and bring my father hither.
וְ/הִגַּדְתֶּ֣ם לְ/אָבִ֗/י אֶת כָּל כְּבוֹדִ/י֙ בְּ/מִצְרַ֔יִם וְ/אֵ֖ת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֣ר רְאִיתֶ֑ם וּ/מִֽהַרְתֶּ֛ם וְ/הוֹרַדְתֶּ֥ם אֶת אָבִ֖/י הֵֽנָּה
And he fel vpon his brother Beniamins necke, and wept: and Beniamin wept vpon his necke.
GenevaThen hee fell on his brother Beniamins necke, and wept, and Beniamin wept on his necke.
וַ/יִּפֹּ֛ל עַל צַוְּארֵ֥י בִנְיָמִֽן אָחִ֖י/ו וַ/יֵּ֑בְךְּ וּ/בִנְיָמִ֔ן בָּכָ֖ה עַל צַוָּארָֽי/ו
Moreouer hee kissed all his brethren, and wept vpon them: and after that, his brethren talked with him.
GenevaMoreouer, he kissed all his brethren, and wept vpon them: and afterwarde his brethren talked with him.
וַ/יְנַשֵּׁ֥ק לְ/כָל אֶחָ֖י/ו וַ/יֵּ֣בְךְּ עֲלֵי/הֶ֑ם וְ/אַ֣חֲרֵי כֵ֔ן דִּבְּר֥וּ אֶחָ֖י/ו אִתּֽ/וֹ
¶ And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaohs house, saying, Iosephs brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his seruants.
GenevaAnd the tidinges came vnto Pharaohs house, so that they said, Iosephs brethre are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his seruants.
וְ/הַ/קֹּ֣ל נִשְׁמַ֗ע בֵּ֤ית פַּרְעֹה֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר בָּ֖אוּ אֲחֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֑ף וַ/יִּיטַב֙ בְּ/עֵינֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה וּ/בְ/עֵינֵ֖י עֲבָדָֽי/ו
And Pharaoh said vnto Ioseph, Say vnto thy brethren, This doe yee, lade your beasts and goe, get you vnto the land of Canaan.
GenevaThen Pharaoh said vnto Ioseph, Say to thy brethren, This doe ye, lade your beastes and depart, go to the land of Canaan,
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר פַּרְעֹה֙ אֶל יוֹסֵ֔ף אֱמֹ֥ר אֶל אַחֶ֖י/ךָ זֹ֣את עֲשׂ֑וּ טַֽעֲנוּ֙ אֶת בְּעִ֣ירְ/כֶ֔ם וּ/לְכוּ בֹ֖אוּ אַ֥רְצָ/ה כְּנָֽעַן
And take your father, and your housholds, and come vnto mee: and I wil giue you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
GenevaAnd take your father, and your houshoulds, and come to me, and I wil giue you the best of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eate of the fat of the land.
וּ/קְח֧וּ אֶת אֲבִי/כֶ֛ם וְ/אֶת בָּתֵּי/כֶ֖ם וּ/בֹ֣אוּ אֵלָ֑/י וְ/אֶתְּנָ֣ה לָ/כֶ֗ם אֶת טוּב֙ אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וְ/אִכְל֖וּ אֶת חֵ֥לֶב הָ/אָֽרֶץ
Now thou art commanded, this doe yee; Take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wiues, and bring your father, and come.
GenevaAnd I commaund thee, Thus doe ye, take you charets out of the lande of Egypt for your children, and for your wiues, and bring your father and come.
וְ/אַתָּ֥ה צֻוֵּ֖יתָה זֹ֣את עֲשׂ֑וּ קְחוּ לָ/כֶם֩ מֵ/אֶ֨רֶץ מִצְרַ֜יִם עֲגָל֗וֹת לְ/טַפְּ/כֶם֙ וְ/לִ/נְשֵׁי/כֶ֔ם וּ/נְשָׂאתֶ֥ם אֶת אֲבִי/כֶ֖ם וּ/בָאתֶֽם
Also regard not your stuffe: for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
GenevaAlso regarde not your stuffe: for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.
וְ/עֵ֣ינְ/כֶ֔ם אַל תָּחֹ֖ס עַל כְּלֵי/כֶ֑ם כִּי ט֛וּב כָּל אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם לָ/כֶ֥ם הֽוּא
And the children of Israel did so: and Ioseph gaue them wagons, according to the commandement of Pharaoh, and gaue them prouision for the way.
GenevaAnd the children of Israel did so: and Ioseph gaue them charets according to the commandement of Pharaoh: hee gaue them vitaile also for the iourney.
וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂוּ כֵן֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַ/יִּתֵּ֨ן לָ/הֶ֥ם יוֹסֵ֛ף עֲגָל֖וֹת עַל פִּ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה וַ/יִּתֵּ֥ן לָ/הֶ֛ם צֵדָ֖ה לַ/דָּֽרֶךְ
To all of them he gaue each man changes of raiment: but to Beniamin hee gaue three hundred pieces of siluer, and fiue changes of raiment.
GenevaHe gaue them all, none except, change of raiment: but vnto Beniamin he gaue three hundreth pieces of siluer, and fiue sutes of raiment.
לְ/כֻלָּ֥/ם נָתַ֛ן לָ/אִ֖ישׁ חֲלִפ֣וֹת שְׂמָלֹ֑ת וּ/לְ/בִנְיָמִ֤ן נָתַן֙ שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֣וֹת כֶּ֔סֶף וְ/חָמֵ֖שׁ חֲלִפֹ֥ת שְׂמָלֹֽת
And to his father hee sent after this maner: ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten shee asses laden with corne, and bread and meat for his father by the way.
GenevaAnd vnto his father likewise hee sent ten hee asses laden with the best things of Egypt, and ten shee asses laden with wheate, and bread and meate for his father by the way.
וּ/לְ/אָבִ֞י/ו שָׁלַ֤ח כְּ/זֹאת֙ עֲשָׂרָ֣ה חֲמֹרִ֔ים נֹשְׂאִ֖ים מִ/טּ֣וּב מִצְרָ֑יִם וְ/עֶ֣שֶׂר אֲתֹנֹ֡ת נֹֽ֠שְׂאֹת בָּ֣ר וָ/לֶ֧חֶם וּ/מָז֛וֹן לְ/אָבִ֖י/ו לַ/דָּֽרֶךְ
So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and hee said vnto them, See that yee fall not out by the way.
GenevaSo sent he his brethren away, and they departed: and he sayde vnto them, Fall not out by the way.
וַ/יְשַׁלַּ֥ח אֶת אֶחָ֖י/ו וַ/יֵּלֵ֑כוּ וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵ/הֶ֔ם אַֽל תִּרְגְּז֖וּ בַּ/דָּֽרֶךְ
¶ And they went vp out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan vnto Iacob their father,
GenevaThen they went vp from Egypt, and came vnto the land of Canaan vnto Iaakob their father,
וַֽ/יַּעֲל֖וּ מִ/מִּצְרָ֑יִם וַ/יָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן אֶֽל יַעֲקֹ֖ב אֲבִי/הֶֽם
And told him, saying, Ioseph is yet aliue, and he is gouernour ouer all the land of Egypt. And Iacobs heart fainted, for he beleeued them not.
GenevaAnd tolde him, saying, Ioseph is yet aliue, and he also is gouernour ouer all the lande of Egypt, and Iaakobs heart failed: for he beleeued them not.
וַ/יַּגִּ֨דוּ ל֜/וֹ לֵ/אמֹ֗ר ע֚וֹד יוֹסֵ֣ף חַ֔י וְ/כִֽי ה֥וּא מֹשֵׁ֖ל בְּ/כָל אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וַ/יָּ֣פָג לִבּ֔/וֹ כִּ֥י לֹא הֶאֱמִ֖ין לָ/הֶֽם
And they told him all the words of Ioseph, which hee had saide vnto them: and when hee saw the wagons which Ioseph had sent to carie him, the spirit of Iacob their father reuiued.
GenevaAnd they told him al the words of Ioseph, which he had said vnto the: but when he saw the charets, which Ioseph had sent to cary him, then the spirit of Iaakob their father reuiued.
וַ/יְדַבְּר֣וּ אֵלָ֗י/ו אֵ֣ת כָּל דִּבְרֵ֤י יוֹסֵף֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר אֲלֵ/הֶ֔ם וַ/יַּרְא֙ אֶת הָ֣/עֲגָל֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר שָׁלַ֥ח יוֹסֵ֖ף לָ/שֵׂ֣את אֹת֑/וֹ וַ/תְּחִ֕י ר֖וּחַ יַעֲקֹ֥ב אֲבִי/הֶֽם
And Israel said, It is enough; Ioseph my sonne is yet aliue: I will goe and see him before I die.
GenevaAnd Israel said, I haue inough: Ioseph my sonne is yet aliue: I will go and see him yer I die.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל רַ֛ב עוֹד יוֹסֵ֥ף בְּנִ֖/י חָ֑י אֵֽלְכָ֥ה וְ/אֶרְאֶ֖/נּוּ בְּ/טֶ֥רֶם אָמֽוּת
