Job 13
Loe, mine eye hath seene all this, mine eare hath heard and vnderstood it.

הֶן כֹּ֭ל רָאֲתָ֣ה עֵינִ֑/י שָֽׁמְעָ֥ה אָ֝זְנִ֗/י וַ/תָּ֥בֶן לָֽ/הּ
What yee know, the same doe I know also, I am not inferiour vnto you.
GenevaI knowe also as much as you knowe: I am not inferiour vnto you.
כְּֽ֭/דַעְתְּ/כֶם יָדַ֣עְתִּי גַם אָ֑נִי לֹא נֹפֵ֖ל אָנֹכִ֣י מִ/כֶּֽם
Surely I would speake to the Almighty, & I desire to reason with God.
GenevaBut I will speake to the Almightie, and I desire to dispute with God.
אוּלָ֗ם אֲ֭נִי אֶל שַׁדַּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר וְ/הוֹכֵ֖חַ אֶל אֵ֣ל אֶחְפָּֽץ
But ye are forgers of lies, yee are all Physicians of no value.
GenevaFor in deede ye forge lyes, and all you are physitions of no value.
וְֽ/אוּלָ֗ם אַתֶּ֥ם טֹֽפְלֵי שָׁ֑קֶר רֹפְאֵ֖י אֱלִ֣ל כֻּלְּ/כֶֽם
O that you would altogether hold your peace, & it should be your wisdome.
GenevaOh, that you woulde holde your tongue, that it might be imputed to you for wisedome!
מִֽי יִ֭תֵּן הַחֲרֵ֣שׁ תַּחֲרִישׁ֑וּ/ן וּ/תְהִ֖י לָ/כֶ֣ם לְ/חָכְמָֽה
Heare now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
GenevaNowe heare my disputation, and giue eare to the arguments of my lips.
שִׁמְעוּ נָ֥א תוֹכַחְתִּ֑/י וְ/רִב֖וֹת שְׂפָתַ֣/י הַקְשִֽׁיבוּ
Wil you speake wickedly for God? and talke deceitfully for him?
GenevaWill ye speake wickedly for Gods defence, and talke deceitfully for his cause?
הַ֭/לְ/אֵל תְּדַבְּר֣וּ עַוְלָ֑ה וְ֝/ל֗/וֹ תְּֽדַבְּר֥וּ רְמִיָּֽה
Will ye accept his person? Will yee contend for God?
GenevaWill ye accept his person? or will ye contende for God?
הֲ/פָנָ֥י/ו תִּשָּׂא֑וּ/ן אִם לָ/אֵ֥ל תְּרִיבֽוּ/ן
Is it good that hee should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, doe ye so mocke him?
GenevaIs it well that he shoulde seeke of you? will you make a lye for him, as one lyeth for a man?
הֲ֭/טוֹב כִּֽי יַחְקֹ֣ר אֶתְ/כֶ֑ם אִם כְּ/הָתֵ֥ל בֶּ֝/אֱנ֗וֹשׁ תְּהָתֵ֥לּוּ בֽ/וֹ
He will surely reprooue you, if yee doe secretly accept persons.
GenevaHe will surely reprooue you, if ye doe secretly accept any person.
הוֹכֵ֣חַ יוֹכִ֣יחַ אֶתְ/כֶ֑ם אִם בַּ֝/סֵּ֗תֶר פָּנִ֥ים תִּשָּׂאֽוּ/ן
Shall not his excellencie make you afraid? and his dread fall vpon you?
GenevaShall not his excellencie make you afraid? and his feare fall vpon you?
הֲ/לֹ֣א שְׂ֭אֵת/וֹ תְּבַעֵ֣ת אֶתְ/כֶ֑ם וּ֝/פַחְדּ֗/וֹ יִפֹּ֥ל עֲלֵי/כֶֽם
Your remembrances are like vnto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
GenevaYour memories may be compared vnto ashes, and your bodyes to bodyes of clay.
זִֽ֭כְרֹנֵי/כֶם מִשְׁלֵי אֵ֑פֶר לְ/גַבֵּי חֹ֝֗מֶר גַּבֵּי/כֶֽם
Hold your peace, let me alone that I may speake, and let come on me what will.
GenevaHolde your tongues in my presence, that I may speake, and let come vpon what will.
הַחֲרִ֣ישׁוּ מִ֭מֶּ/נִּי וַ/אֲדַבְּרָה אָ֑נִי וְ/יַעֲבֹ֖ר עָלַ֣/י מָֽה
Wherefore doe I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
GenevaWherefore doe I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my soule in mine hande?
עַל מָ֤ה אֶשָּׂ֣א בְשָׂרִ֣/י בְ/שִׁנָּ֑/י וְ֝/נַפְשִׁ֗/י אָשִׂ֥ים בְּ/כַפִּֽ/י
Though hee slay mee, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintaine mine owne wayes before him.
GenevaLoe, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, and I will reprooue my wayes in his sight.
הֵ֣ן יִ֭קְטְלֵ/נִי לא אֲיַחֵ֑ל אַךְ דְּ֝רָכַ֗/י אֶל פָּנָ֥י/ו אוֹכִֽיחַ
Hee also shall be my saluation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
GenevaHe shalbe my saluation also: for the hypocrite shall not come before him.
גַּם הוּא לִ֥/י לִֽ/ישׁוּעָ֑ה כִּי לֹ֥א לְ֝/פָנָ֗י/ו חָנֵ֥ף יָבֽוֹא
Heare diligently my speach, and my declaration with your eares.
GenevaHeare diligently my wordes, and marke my talke.
שִׁמְע֣וּ שָׁ֭מוֹעַ מִלָּתִ֑/י וְ֝/אַֽחֲוָתִ֗/י בְּ/אָזְנֵי/כֶֽם
Behold now, I haue ordered my cause, I know that I shall be iustified.
GenevaBeholde nowe: if I prepare me to iudgement, I knowe that I shalbe iustified.
הִנֵּה נָ֭א עָרַ֣כְתִּי מִשְׁפָּ֑ט יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י אֶצְדָּֽק
Who is hee that will plead with me? for now if I hold my tongue, I shall giue vp the ghost.
GenevaWho is he, that will pleade with me? for if I nowe holde my tongue, I dye.
מִי ה֭וּא יָרִ֣יב עִמָּדִ֑/י כִּֽי עַתָּ֖ה אַחֲרִ֣ישׁ וְ/אֶגְוָֽע
Only doe not two things vnto me: then will I not hide my selfe from thee.

אַךְ שְׁ֭תַּיִם אַל תַּ֣עַשׂ עִמָּדִ֑/י אָ֥ז מִ֝/פָּנֶ֗י/ךָ לֹ֣א אֶסָּתֵֽר
Withdrawe thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make mee afraid.

כַּ֭פְּ/ךָ מֵ/עָלַ֣/י הַרְחַ֑ק וְ֝/אֵ֥מָתְ/ךָ֗ אַֽל תְּבַעֲתַֽ/נִּי
Then call thou, and I will answere: or let me speake, and answere thou mee.

וּ֭/קְרָא וְ/אָנֹכִ֣י אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה אֽוֹ אֲ֝דַבֵּ֗ר וַ/הֲשִׁיבֵֽ/נִי
How many are mine iniquities and sinnes? make mee to knowe my transgression, and my sinne.

כַּ/מָּ֣ה לִ֭/י עֲוֺנ֣וֹת וְ/חַטָּא֑וֹת פִּֽשְׁעִ֥/י וְ֝/חַטָּאתִ֗/י הֹדִיעֵֽ/נִי
Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemie?

לָֽ/מָּה פָנֶ֥י/ךָ תַסְתִּ֑יר וְ/תַחְשְׁבֵ֖/נִי לְ/אוֹיֵ֣ב לָֽ/ךְ
Wilt thou breake a leafe driuen to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the drie stubble?

הֶ/עָלֶ֣ה נִדָּ֣ף תַּעֲר֑וֹץ וְ/אֶת קַ֖שׁ יָבֵ֣שׁ תִּרְדֹּֽף
For thou writest bitter things against mee, and makest me to possesse the iniquities of my youth.

כִּֽי תִכְתֹּ֣ב עָלַ֣/י מְרֹר֑וֹת וְ֝/תוֹרִישֵׁ֗/נִי עֲוֺנ֥וֹת נְעוּרָֽ/י
Thou puttest my feete also in the stockes, and lookest narrowly vnto all my pathes; thou settest a print vpon the heeles of my feete.

וְ/תָ֘שֵׂ֤ם בַּ/סַּ֨ד רַגְלַ֗/י וְ/תִשְׁמ֥וֹר כָּל אָרְחוֹתָ֑/י עַל שָׁרְשֵׁ֥י רַ֝גְלַ֗/י תִּתְחַקֶּֽה
And hee, as a rotten thing consumeth, as a garment that is moth-eaten.
GenevaSuch one consumeth like a rotten thing, and as a garment that is motheaten.
וְ֭/הוּא כְּ/רָקָ֣ב יִבְלֶ֑ה כְּ֝/בֶ֗גֶד אֲכָ֣ל/וֹ עָֽשׁ
