Jeremiah 45

The word that Ieremiah the Prophet spake vnto Baruch the sonne of Neriah, when he had written these words in a booke at the mouth of Ieremiah, in the fourth yeere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah king of Iudah, saying,

הַ/דָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֤ר דִּבֶּר֙ יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַ/נָּבִ֔יא אֶל בָּר֖וּךְ בֶּֽן נֵֽרִיָּ֑ה בְּ/כָתְב/וֹ֩ אֶת הַ/דְּבָרִ֨ים הָ/אֵ֤לֶּה עַל סֵ֨פֶר֙ מִ/פִּ֣י יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ בַּ/שָּׁנָה֙ הָֽ/רְבִעִ֔ית לִ/יהוֹיָקִ֧ים בֶּן יֹאשִׁיָּ֛הוּ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֖ה לֵ/אמֹֽר

Thus saith the LORD the God of Israel vnto thee, O Baruch,

GenevaThus sayeth the Lord God of Israel vnto thee, O Baruch,

כֹּֽה אָמַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עָלֶ֖י/ךָ בָּרֽוּךְ

Thou didst say, Woe is me now, for the LORD hath added griefe to my sorow, I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

GenevaThou diddest say, Wo is me nowe: for the Lord hath laied sorrow vnto my sorrowe: I fainted in my mourning, and I can finde no rest.

אָמַ֨רְתָּ֙ אֽוֹי נָ֣א לִ֔/י כִּֽי יָסַ֧ף יְהוָ֛ה יָג֖וֹן עַל מַכְאֹבִ֑/י יָגַ֨עְתִּי֙ בְּ/אַנְחָתִ֔/י וּ/מְנוּחָ֖ה לֹ֥א מָצָֽאתִי

¶ Thus shalt thou say vnto him, The LORD saith thus, Behold, that which I haue built will I breake downe, and that which I haue planted I will plucke vp, euen this whole land:

GenevaThus shalt thou say vnto him, The Lord sayeth thus, Behold, that which I haue built, will I destroy, and that which I haue planted, will I plucke vp, euen this whole lande.

כֹּ֣ה תֹּאמַ֣ר אֵלָ֗י/ו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֤ה אֲשֶׁר בָּנִ֨יתִי֙ אֲנִ֣י הֹרֵ֔ס וְ/אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר נָטַ֖עְתִּי אֲנִ֣י נֹתֵ֑שׁ וְ/אֶת כָּל הָ/אָ֖רֶץ הִֽיא

And seekest thou great things for thy selfe? seeke them not: for behold, I wil bring euill vpon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I giue vnto thee for a pray in all places whither thou goest.

GenevaAnd seekest thou great things for thy self? seeke them not: for beholde, I wil bring a plague vpon al flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life wil I giue thee for a pray in all places, whither thou goest.

וְ/אַתָּ֛ה תְּבַקֶּשׁ לְ/ךָ֥ גְדֹל֖וֹת אַל תְּבַקֵּ֑שׁ כִּ֡י הִנְ/נִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא רָעָ֤ה עַל כָּל בָּשָׂר֙ נְאֻם יְהוָ֔ה וְ/נָתַתִּ֨י לְ/ךָ֤ אֶֽת נַפְשְׁ/ךָ֙ לְ/שָׁלָ֔ל עַ֥ל כָּל הַ/מְּקֹמ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּֽלֶךְ שָֽׁם
