Micah 2

Woe to them that deuise iniquitie, and worke euill vpon their beds: when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

ה֧וֹי חֹֽשְׁבֵי אָ֛וֶן וּ/פֹ֥עֲלֵי רָ֖ע עַל מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָ֑/ם בְּ/א֤וֹר הַ/בֹּ֨קֶר֙ יַעֲשׂ֔וּ/הָ כִּ֥י יֶשׁ לְ/אֵ֖ל יָדָֽ/ם

And they couet fields and take them by violence: and houses, and take them away: so they oppresse a man and his house, euen a man and his heritage.

וְ/חָמְד֤וּ שָׂדוֹת֙ וְ/גָזָ֔לוּ וּ/בָתִּ֖ים וְ/נָשָׂ֑אוּ וְ/עָֽשְׁקוּ֙ גֶּ֣בֶר וּ/בֵית֔/וֹ וְ/אִ֖ישׁ וְ/נַחֲלָתֽ/וֹ

Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, against this familie doe I deuise an euill, from which ye shall not remoue your necks, neither shall ye goe haughtily: for this time is euill.

GenevaTherefore thus saieth the Lord, Beholde, against this familie haue I deuised a plague, whereout yee shall not plucke your neckes, and ye shall not go so proudly, for this time is euill.

לָ/כֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְ/נִ֥י חֹשֵׁ֛ב עַל הַ/מִּשְׁפָּחָ֥ה הַ/זֹּ֖את רָעָ֑ה אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹֽא תָמִ֨ישׁוּ מִ/שָּׁ֜ם צַוְּארֹֽתֵי/כֶ֗ם וְ/לֹ֤א תֵֽלְכוּ֙ רוֹמָ֔ה כִּ֛י עֵ֥ת רָעָ֖ה הִֽיא

¶ In that day shall one take vp a parable against you, and lament with a dolefull lamentation, and say, We be vtterly spoiled: hee hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he remoued it from me? turning away hee hath diuided our fields.

בַּ/יּ֨וֹם הַ/ה֜וּא יִשָּׂ֧א עֲלֵי/כֶ֣ם מָשָׁ֗ל וְ/נָהָ֨ה נְהִ֤י נִֽהְיָה֙ אָמַר֙ שָׁד֣וֹד נְשַׁדֻּ֔נוּ חֵ֥לֶק עַמִּ֖/י יָמִ֑יר אֵ֚יךְ יָמִ֣ישׁ לִ֔/י לְ/שׁוֹבֵ֥ב שָׂדֵ֖י/נוּ יְחַלֵּֽק

Therefore thou shalt haue none that shall cast a cord by lot in the Congregation of the LORD.

לָ/כֵן֙ לֹֽא יִֽהְיֶ֣ה לְ/ךָ֔ מַשְׁלִ֥יךְ חֶ֖בֶל בְּ/גוֹרָ֑ל בִּ/קְהַ֖ל יְהוָֽה

Prophecie ye not, say they, to them that prophecie: they shall not prophecie to them, that they shall not take shame.

GenevaThey that prophecied, Prophecie ye not. They shall not prophecie to them, neither shall they take shame.

אַל תַּטִּ֖פוּ יַטִּיפ֑וּ/ן לֹֽא יַטִּ֣פוּ לָ/אֵ֔לֶּה לֹ֥א יִסַּ֖ג כְּלִמּֽוֹת

¶ O thou that art named the house of Iacob, is the Spirit of the LORD straitned? are these his dongs? doe not my words do good to him that walketh vprightly?

GenevaO thou that art named of the house of Iaakob, is the Spirite of the Lord shortened? are these his workes? are not my wordes good vnto him that walketh vprightly?

הֶ/אָמ֣וּר בֵּֽית יַעֲקֹ֗ב הֲ/קָצַר֙ ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֔ה אִם אֵ֖לֶּה מַעֲלָלָ֑י/ו הֲ/ל֤וֹא דְבָרַ֨/י יֵיטִ֔יבוּ עִ֖ם הַ/יָּשָׁ֥ר הוֹלֵֽךְ

Euen of late, my people is risen vp as an enemie: ye pull off the robe with the garment, frō them that passe by securely, as men auerse from warre.

GenevaBut hee that was yesterday my people, is risen vp on the other side, as against an enemie: they spoyle the beautifull garment from them that passe by peaceably, as though they returned from the warre.

וְ/אֶתְמ֗וּל עַמִּ/י֙ לְ/אוֹיֵ֣ב יְקוֹמֵ֔ם מִ/מּ֣וּל שַׂלְמָ֔ה אֶ֖דֶר תַּפְשִׁט֑וּ/ן מֵ/עֹבְרִ֣ים בֶּ֔טַח שׁוּבֵ֖י מִלְחָמָֽה

The women of my people haue ye cast out from their pleasant houses, from their children haue ye taken away my glory for euer.

נְשֵׁ֤י עַמִּ/י֙ תְּגָ֣רְשׁ֔וּ/ן מִ/בֵּ֖ית תַּֽעֲנֻגֶ֑י/הָ מֵ/עַל֙ עֹֽלָלֶ֔י/הָ תִּקְח֥וּ הֲדָרִ֖/י לְ/עוֹלָֽם

Arise ye and depart, for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you euen with a sore destruction.

ק֣וּמוּ וּ/לְכ֔וּ כִּ֥י לֹא זֹ֖את הַ/מְּנוּחָ֑ה בַּ/עֲב֥וּר טָמְאָ֛ה תְּחַבֵּ֖ל וְ/חֶ֥בֶל נִמְרָֽץ

If a man walking in the spirit and falshood, doe lie, saying, I will prophecie vnto thee of wine and of strong drinke, he shall euen bee the prophet of this people.

GenevaIf a man walke in the Spirit, and would lie falsely, saying, I wil prophecie vnto thee of wine, and of strong drinke, he shall euen be the prophet of this people.

לוּ אִ֞ישׁ הֹלֵ֥ךְ ר֨וּחַ֙ וָ/שֶׁ֣קֶר כִּזֵּ֔ב אַטִּ֣ף לְ/ךָ֔ לַ/יַּ֖יִן וְ/לַ/שֵּׁכָ֑ר וְ/הָיָ֥ה מַטִּ֖יף הָ/עָ֥ם הַ/זֶּֽה

¶ I will surely assemble, O Iacob, all of thee: I will surely gather the remnant of Israel, I will put them together as the sheepe of Bozrah, as the flocke in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

אָסֹ֨ף אֶאֱסֹ֜ף יַעֲקֹ֣ב כֻּלָּ֗/ךְ קַבֵּ֤ץ אֲקַבֵּץ֙ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יַ֥חַד אֲשִׂימֶ֖/נּוּ כְּ/צֹ֣אן בָּצְרָ֑ה כְּ/עֵ֨דֶר֙ בְּ/ת֣וֹךְ הַ/דָּֽבְר֔/וֹ תְּהִימֶ֖נָה מֵ/אָדָֽם

The breaker is come vp before them: they haue broken vp and haue passed through the gate, and are gone out by it, and their king shal passe before them, & the LORD on the head of them.

עָלָ֤ה הַ/פֹּרֵץ֙ לִ/פְנֵי/הֶ֔ם פָּֽרְצוּ֙ וַֽ/יַּעֲבֹ֔רוּ שַׁ֖עַר וַ/יֵּ֣צְאוּ ב֑/וֹ וַ/יַּעֲבֹ֤ר מַלְכָּ/ם֙ לִ/פְנֵי/הֶ֔ם וַ/יהוָ֖ה בְּ/רֹאשָֽׁ/ם
