Chapter 3
Philippians 3
Finally, my brethren, reioyce in the Lorde. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grieuous: but for you it is safe.
GenevaMoreouer, my brethren, reioyce in the Lord. It grieueth mee not to write the same things to you, and for you it is a sure thing.
Beware of dogs, beware of euill workers: beware of the concision.
GenevaBeware of dogges: beware of euil workers: beware of the concision.
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and reioyce in Christ Iesus, and haue no confidence in the flesh.
GenevaFor we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirite, and reioyce in Christ Iesus, and haue no confidence in the flesh:
Though I might also haue confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that hee hath whereof hee might trust in the flesh, I more:
GenevaThough I might also haue confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, much more I,
Circumcised the eight day, of the stocke of Israel, of the tribe of Beniamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrewes, as touching the Law, a Pharise:
GenevaCircumcised the eight day, of the kinred of Israel, of the tribe of Beniamin, an Ebrewe of the Ebrewes, by the Lawe a Pharise.
Concerning zeale, persecuting the Church: touching the righteousnesse which is in the Law, blamelesse.
GenevaConcerning zeale, I persecuted ye Church: touching the righteousnesse which is in the Law, I was vnrebukeable.
But what things were gaine to me, those I counted losse for Christ.
GenevaBut the thinges that were vantage vnto me, the same I counted losse for Christes sake.
Yea doubtlesse, and I count all things but losse, for the excellencie of the knowledge of Christ Iesus my Lord: for whom I haue suffered the losse of all things, and doe count them but doung, that I may win Christ,
GenevaYea, doubtlesse I thinke all thinges but losse for the excellent knowledge sake of Christ Iesus my Lord, for whome I haue counted all things losse, and doe iudge them to bee dongue, that I might winne Christ,
And be found in him, not hauing mine owne righteousnesse, which is of the Law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousnesse which is of God by faith:
GenevaAnd might bee founde in him, that is, not hauing mine owne righteousnesse, which is of the Lawe, but that which is through the faith of Christ, euen the righteousnesse which is of God through faith,
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable vnto his death,
GenevaThat I may know him, and the vertue of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his afflictions, and be made conformable vnto his death,
If by any meanes I might attaine vnto the resurrection of the dead.
GenevaIf by any meanes I might attaine vnto the resurrection of the dead:
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Iesus.
GenevaNot as though I had alreadie attained to it, either were alreadie perfect: but I follow, if that I may comprehend that for whose sake also I am comprehended of Christ Iesus.
Brethren, I count not my selfe to haue apprehended: but this one thing I doe, forgetting those things which are behinde, and reaching forth vnto those things which are before,
GenevaBrethren, I count not my selfe, that I haue attained to it, but one thing I doe: I forget that which is behinde, and endeuour my selfe vnto that which is before,
I presse toward the marke, for the price of the high calling of God in Christ Iesus.
GenevaAnd follow hard toward the marke, for the prise of the hie calling of God in Christ Iesus.
Let vs therefore, as many as bee perfect, bee thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shal reueale euen this vnto you.
GenevaLet vs therefore as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if yee be otherwise minded, God shall reueile euen the same vnto you.
Neuerthelesse, whereto wee haue alreadie attained, let vs walke by the same rule, let vs minde the same thing.
GenevaNeuerthelesse, in that whereunto wee are come, let vs proceede by one rule, that wee may minde one thing.
Brethren, be followers together of me, and marke them which walke so, as ye haue vs for an ensample.
GenevaBrethren, bee followers of mee, and looke on them, which walke so, as yee haue vs for an ensample.
(For many walke, of whome I haue told you often, and now tell you euen weeping, that they are the enemies of the crosse of Christ:
GenevaFor many walke, of whom I haue told you often, and nowe tell you weeping, that they are the enemies of the Crosse of Christ:
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glorie is in their shame, who minde earthly things.)
GenevaWhose ende is damnation, whose God is their bellie, and whose glorie is to their shame, which minde earthly things.
For our conuersation is in heauen, from whence also we looke for the Sauiour, the Lord Iesus Christ:
GenevaBut our conuersation is in heauen, from whence also we looke for the Sauiour, euen the Lord Iesus Christ,
Who shall change our vile bodie, that it may bee fashioned like vnto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able euen to subdue all things vnto himselfe.
GenevaWho shall change our vile bodie, that it may be fashioned like vnto his glorious body, according to the working, whereby hee is able euen to subdue all things vnto him selfe.
