A Song of degrees.
LORD remember Dauid, and all his afflictions:
Geneva 1599A song of degrees. Lord, remember Dauid with all his affliction.
שִׁ֗יר הַֽ/מַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת זְכוֹר יְהוָ֥ה לְ/דָוִ֑ד אֵ֝ת כָּל עֻנּוֹתֽ/וֹ
How he sware vnto the LORD, and vowed vnto the mightie God of Iacob.
Geneva 1599Who sware vnto the Lord, and vowed vnto the mightie God of Iaakob, saying,
אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִ֭שְׁבַּע לַ/יהוָ֑ה נָ֝דַ֗ר לַ/אֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house: nor goe vp into my bed.
Geneva 1599I will not enter into the tabernacle of mine house, nor come vpon my pallet or bed,
אִם אָ֭בֹא בְּ/אֹ֣הֶל בֵּיתִ֑/י אִם אֶ֝עֱלֶ֗ה עַל עֶ֥רֶשׂ יְצוּעָֽ/י
I will not giue sleepe to mine eyes: or slumber to mine eyelids,

אִם אֶתֵּ֣ן שְׁנַ֣ת לְ/עֵינָ֑/י לְֽ/עַפְעַפַּ֥/י תְּנוּמָֽה
Untill I finde out a place for the LORD: an habitation for the mightie God of Iacob.

עַד אֶמְצָ֣א מָ֭קוֹם לַ/יהוָ֑ה מִ֝שְׁכָּנ֗וֹת לַ/אֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב
Loe, wee heard of it at Ephrata: we found it in the fields of the wood.
Geneva 1599Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah, and found it in the fieldes of the forest.
הִנֵּֽה שְׁמַֽעֲנ֥וּ/הָ בְ/אֶפְרָ֑תָה מְ֝צָאנ֗וּ/הָ בִּ/שְׂדֵי יָֽעַר
We will goe into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstoole.

נָב֥וֹאָה לְ/מִשְׁכְּנוֹתָ֑י/ו נִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה לַ/הֲדֹ֥ם רַגְלָֽי/ו
Arise, O LORD, into thy rest: thou, and the Arke of thy strength.

קוּמָ֣/ה יְ֭הוָה לִ/מְנוּחָתֶ֑/ךָ אַ֝תָּ֗ה וַ/אֲר֥וֹן עֻזֶּֽ/ךָ
Let thy Priestes be clothed with righteousnesse: and let thy saints shout for ioy.

כֹּהֲנֶ֥י/ךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ צֶ֑דֶק וַ/חֲסִידֶ֥י/ךָ יְרַנֵּֽנוּ
For thy seruant Dauids sake: turne not away the face of thine Anointed.

בַּ֭/עֲבוּר דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדֶּ֑/ךָ אַל תָּ֝שֵׁ֗ב פְּנֵ֣י מְשִׁיחֶֽ/ךָ
The LORD hath sworne in trueth vnto Dauid, hee will not turne from it; of the fruit of thy body will I set vpon thy throne.
Geneva 1599The Lord hath sworne in trueth vnto Dauid, and he wil not shrinke from it, saying, Of the fruite of thy body will I set vpon thy throne.
נִשְׁבַּֽע יְהוָ֨ה לְ/דָוִ֡ד אֱמֶת֮ לֹֽא יָשׁ֪וּב מִ֫מֶּ֥/נָּה מִ/פְּרִ֥י בִטְנְ/ךָ֑ אָ֝שִׁ֗ית לְ/כִסֵּא לָֽ/ךְ
If thy children will keepe my couenant and my testimonie, that I shall teach them; their children also shall sit vpon thy throne for euermore.
Geneva 1599If thy sonnes keepe my couenant, and my testimonies, that I shall teach them, their sonnes also shall sit vpon thy throne for euer.
אִֽם יִשְׁמְר֬וּ בָנֶ֨י/ךָ בְּרִיתִ/י֮ וְ/עֵדֹתִ֥/י ז֗וֹ אֲלַ֫מְּדֵ֥/ם גַּם בְּנֵי/הֶ֥ם עֲדֵי עַ֑ד יֵ֝שְׁב֗וּ לְ/כִסֵּא לָֽ/ךְ
For the LORD hath chosen Zion: he hath desired it for his habitation.
Geneva 1599For the Lord hath chosen Zion, and loued to dwell in it, saying,
כִּֽי בָחַ֣ר יְהוָ֣ה בְּ/צִיּ֑וֹן אִ֝וָּ֗/הּ לְ/מוֹשָׁ֥ב לֽ/וֹ
This is my rest for euer: here will I dwell, for I haue desired it.

זֹאת מְנוּחָתִ֥/י עֲדֵי עַ֑ד פֹּֽה אֵ֝שֵׁ֗ב כִּ֣י אִוִּתִֽי/הָ
I will abundantly blesse her prouision: I will satisfie her poore with bread.
Geneva 1599I will surely blesse her vitailes, and will satisfie her poore with bread,
צֵ֭ידָ/הּ בָּרֵ֣ךְ אֲבָרֵ֑ךְ אֶ֝בְיוֹנֶ֗י/הָ אַשְׂבִּ֥יעַֽ לָֽחֶם
I will also clothe her priests with saluation: and her Saints shall shout aloud for ioy.
Geneva 1599And will clothe her Priests with saluation, and her Saints shall shoute for ioye.
וְֽ֭/כֹהֲנֶי/הָ אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ יֶ֑שַׁע וַ֝/חֲסִידֶ֗י/הָ רַנֵּ֥ן יְרַנֵּֽנוּ
There will I make the horne of Dauid to budde: I haue ordained a lampe for mine Anointed.

שָׁ֤ם אַצְמִ֣יחַ קֶ֣רֶן לְ/דָוִ֑ד עָרַ֥כְתִּי נֵ֝֗ר לִ/מְשִׁיחִֽ/י
His enemies will I clothe with shame: but vpon himselfe shall his crowne flourish.

א֭וֹיְבָי/ו אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ בֹּ֑שֶׁת וְ֝/עָלָ֗י/ו יָצִ֥יץ נִזְרֽ/וֹ
