Chapter 5
Romans 5
Therefore being iustified by faith, wee haue peace with God, through our Lord Iesus Christ.
GenevaThen being iustified by faith, we haue peace toward God through our Lord Iesus Christ.
By whom also wee haue accesse by faith, into this grace wherein wee stand, and reioyce in hope of the glory of God.
GenevaBy who also through faith, we haue had this accesse into this grace, wherein we stand, and reioyce vnder ye hope of the glory of God.
And not onely so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience:
GenevaNeither that onely, but also we reioyce in tribulations, knowing that tribulation bringeth forth patience,
And patience, experience: and experience, hope:
GenevaAnd patience experience, and experience hope,
And hope maketh not ashamed, because the loue of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the holy Ghost, which is giuen vnto vs.
GenevaAnd hope maketh not ashamed, because the loue of God is shed abroade in our heartes by the holy Ghost, which is giuen vnto vs.
For when wee were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the vngodly.
GenevaFor Christ, when we were yet of no strength, at his time died for the vngodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peraduenture for a good man, some would euen dare to dye.
GenevaDoutles one will scarce die for a righteous man: but yet for a good man it may be that one dare die.
But God commendeth his loue towards vs, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for vs.
GenevaBut God setteth out his loue towards vs, seeing that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for vs.
Much more then being now iustified by his blood, we shalbe saued from wrath through him.
GenevaMuch more then, being now iustified by his blood, we shalbe saued from wrath through him.
For if when wee were enemies, we were reconciled to God, by the death of his sonne: much more being reconciled, we shalbe saued by his life.
GenevaFor if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Sonne, much more being reconciled, we shalbe saued by his life,
And not onely so, but wee also ioy in God, through our Lorde Iesus Christ, by whom we haue now receiued the atonement.
GenevaAnd not onely so, but we also reioyce in God through our Lord Iesus Christ, by whom we haue nowe receiued the atonement.
Wherefore, as by one man sinne entred into the world, and death by sin: and so death passed vpon all men, for that all haue sinned.
GenevaWherefore, as by one man sinne entred into ye world, and death by sinne, and so death went ouer all men: in who all men haue sinned.
For vntill the Law sinne was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no Law.
GenevaFor vnto the time of the Law was sinne in the worlde, but sinne is not imputed, while there is no lawe.
Neuertheles, death reigned from Adam to Moses, euen ouer them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adams transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come:
GenevaBut death reigned from Adam to Moses, euen ouer them also that sinned not after the like maner of that transgression of Adam, which was the figure of him that was to come.
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift: for if through the offence of one, many bee dead: much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man Iesus Christ, hath abounded vnto many.
GenevaBut yet the gift is not so, as is the offence: for if through the offence of that one, many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man Iesus Christ, hath abounded vnto many.
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the iudgement was by one to condemnation: but the free gift is of many offences vnto iustification.
GenevaNeither is the gift so, as that which entred in by one that sinned: for the fault came of one offence vnto condemnation: but the gift is of many offences to iustification.
For if by one mans offence, death raigned by one, much more they which receiue abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousnes, shall reigne in life by one, Iesus Christ.
GenevaFor if by the offence of one, death reigned through one, much more shall they which receiue that abundance of grace, and of that gift of that righteousnesse, reigne in life through one, that is, Iesus Christ.
Therfore as by the offence of one, iudgment came vpon all men to condemnation: euen so by the righteousnes of one, the free gift came vpon all men vnto iustification of life.
GenevaLikewise then as by the offence of one, the fault came on all men to condemnation, so by the iustifying of one, the benefite abounded toward all men to the iustification of life.
For as by one mans disobedience many were made sinners: so by the obedience of one, shall many bee made righteous.
GenevaFor as by one mans disobedience many were made sinners, so by that obedience of that one shall many also be made righteous.
Moreouer, the Lawe entred, that the offence might abound: but where sinne abounded, grace did much more abound.
GenevaMoreouer the Law entred thereupon that the offence shoulde abound: neuerthelesse, where sinne abounded, there grace abounded much more:
That as sinne hath reigned vnto death; euen so might grace reigne thorow righteousnes vnto eternall life, by Iesus Christ our Lord.
GenevaThat as sinne had reigned vnto death, so might grace also reigne by righteousnesse vnto eternall life, through Iesus Christ our Lord.
