Song of Solomon 3
By night on my bed I sought him whome my soule loueth. I sought him, but I found him not.
GenevaIn my bed by night I sought him that my soule loued: I sought him, but I found him not.
עַל מִשְׁכָּבִ/י֙ בַּ/לֵּיל֔וֹת בִּקַּ֕שְׁתִּי אֵ֥ת שֶׁ/אָהֲבָ֖ה נַפְשִׁ֑/י בִּקַּשְׁתִּ֖י/ו וְ/לֹ֥א מְצָאתִֽי/ו
I will rise now, and goe about the citie in the streets, and in the broad wayes I will seeke him whom my soule loueth: I sought him, but I found him not.
GenevaI will rise therefore nowe, and goe about in the citie, by the streetes and by the open places, and wil seeke him that my soule loueth: I sought him, but I found him not.
אָק֨וּמָה נָּ֜א וַ/אֲסוֹבְבָ֣ה בָ/עִ֗יר בַּ/שְּׁוָקִים֙ וּ/בָ֣/רְחֹב֔וֹת אֲבַקְשָׁ֕ה אֵ֥ת שֶׁ/אָהֲבָ֖ה נַפְשִׁ֑/י בִּקַּשְׁתִּ֖י/ו וְ/לֹ֥א מְצָאתִֽי/ו
The watchmen that goe about the citie, found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soule loueth?
GenevaThe watchmen that went about the citie, found mee: to whome I said, Haue you seene him, whome my soule loueth?
מְצָא֨וּ/נִי֙ הַ/שֹּׁ֣מְרִ֔ים הַ/סֹּבְבִ֖ים בָּ/עִ֑יר אֵ֛ת שֶׁ/אָהֲבָ֥ה נַפְשִׁ֖/י רְאִיתֶֽם
It was but a litle that I passed from them, but I found him whome my soule loueth: I helde him, and would not let him goe, vntill I had brought him into my mothers house, and into the chamber of her that conceiued me.
GenevaWhen I had past a litle from them, then I found him whom my soule loued: I tooke holde on him and left him not, till I had brought him vnto my mothers house into the chamber of her that conceiued me.
כִּ/מְעַט֙ שֶׁ/עָבַ֣רְתִּי מֵ/הֶ֔ם עַ֣ד שֶֽׁ/מָּצָ֔אתִי אֵ֥ת שֶׁ/אָהֲבָ֖ה נַפְשִׁ֑/י אֲחַזְתִּי/ו֙ וְ/לֹ֣א אַרְפֶּ֔/נּוּ עַד שֶׁ֤/הֲבֵיאתִי/ו֙ אֶל בֵּ֣ית אִמִּ֔/י וְ/אֶל חֶ֖דֶר הוֹרָתִֽ/י
I charge you, O ye daughters of Ierusalem, by the Roes and by the Hindes of the field, that ye stirre not vp, nor awake my loue, till he please.
GenevaI charge you, O daughters of Ierusalem, by the roes and by the hindes of the fielde, that ye stirre not vp, nor waken my loue vntill she please.
הִשְׁבַּ֨עְתִּי אֶתְ/כֶ֜ם בְּנ֤וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֨ם֙ בִּ/צְבָא֔וֹת א֖וֹ בְּ/אַיְל֣וֹת הַ/שָּׂדֶ֑ה אִם תָּעִ֧ירוּ וְֽ/אִם תְּעֽוֹרְר֛וּ אֶת הָ/אַהֲבָ֖ה עַ֥ד שֶׁ/תֶּחְפָּֽץ
¶ Who is this that commeth out of the wildernes like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrhe and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
GenevaWho is shee that commeth vp out of the wildernes like pillars of smoke perfumed with myrrhe and incense, and with all the spices of the marchant?
מִ֣י זֹ֗את עֹלָה֙ מִן הַ/מִּדְבָּ֔ר כְּ/תִֽימֲר֖וֹת עָשָׁ֑ן מְקֻטֶּ֤רֶת מוֹר֙ וּ/לְבוֹנָ֔ה מִ/כֹּ֖ל אַבְקַ֥ת רוֹכֵֽל
Behold his bed, which is Solomons: threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel:

הִנֵּ֗ה מִטָּת/וֹ֙ שֶׁ/לִּ/שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה שִׁשִּׁ֥ים גִּבֹּרִ֖ים סָבִ֣יב לָ֑/הּ מִ/גִּבֹּרֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
They all hold swords, being expert in warre: Euery man hath his sword vpon his thigh, because of feare in the night.
GenevaThey all handle the sworde, and are expert in warre, euery one hath his sword vpon his thigh for the feare by night.
כֻּלָּ/ם֙ אֲחֻ֣זֵי חֶ֔רֶב מְלֻמְּדֵ֖י מִלְחָמָ֑ה אִ֤ישׁ חַרְבּ/וֹ֙ עַל יְרֵכ֔/וֹ מִ/פַּ֖חַד בַּ/לֵּילּֽוֹת
King Solomon made himselfe a charet of the wood of Lebanon.
GenevaKing Salomon made himselfe a palace of the trees of Lebanon.
אַפִּרְי֗וֹן עָ֤שָׂה ל/וֹ֙ הַ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה מֵ/עֲצֵ֖י הַ/לְּבָנֽוֹן
He made the pillars thereof of siluer, the bottome thereof of gold, the couering of it, of purple; the midst thereof being paued with loue, for the daughters of Ierusalem.
GenevaHee made the pillars thereof of siluer, and the pauement thereof of gold, the hangings thereof of purple, whose middes was paued with the loue of the daughters of Ierusalem.
עַמּוּדָי/ו֙ עָ֣שָׂה כֶ֔סֶף רְפִידָת֣/וֹ זָהָ֔ב מֶרְכָּב֖/וֹ אַרְגָּמָ֑ן תּוֹכ/וֹ֙ רָצ֣וּף אַהֲבָ֔ה מִ/בְּנ֖וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם
Goe foorth, O yee daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the Crowne wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladnesse of his heart.
GenevaCome forth, ye daughters of Zion, and behold the King Salomon with the crowne, wherewith his mother crowned him in ye day of his mariage, and in the day of the gladnes of his heart.
צְאֶ֧ינָה וּֽ/רְאֶ֛ינָה בְּנ֥וֹת צִיּ֖וֹן בַּ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה בָּ/עֲטָרָ֗ה שֶׁ/עִטְּרָה לּ֤/וֹ אִמּ/וֹ֙ בְּ/י֣וֹם חֲתֻנָּת֔/וֹ וּ/בְ/י֖וֹם שִׂמְחַ֥ת לִבּֽ/וֹ
