Zephaniah 3
Woe to her that is filthie and polluted, to the oppressing citie.

ה֥וֹי מֹרְאָ֖ה וְ/נִגְאָלָ֑ה הָ/עִ֖יר הַ/יּוֹנָֽה
She obeyed not the voice: she receiued not correction: she trusted not in the LORD: she drew not neere to her God.

לֹ֤א שָֽׁמְעָה֙ בְּ/ק֔וֹל לֹ֥א לָקְחָ֖ה מוּסָ֑ר בַּֽ/יהוָה֙ לֹ֣א בָטָ֔חָה אֶל אֱלֹהֶ֖י/הָ לֹ֥א קָרֵֽבָה
Her princes within her are roaring lyons; her Iudges are euening wolues, they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
GenevaHer princes within her are as roaring lyons: her iudges are as wolues in the euening, which leaue not the bones till the morow.
שָׂרֶ֣י/הָ בְ/קִרְבָּ֔/הּ אֲרָי֖וֹת שֹֽׁאֲגִ֑ים שֹׁפְטֶ֨י/הָ֙ זְאֵ֣בֵי עֶ֔רֶב לֹ֥א גָרְמ֖וּ לַ/בֹּֽקֶר
Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests haue polluted the Sanctuarie, they haue done violence to the Law.

נְבִיאֶ֨י/הָ֙ פֹּֽחֲזִ֔ים אַנְשֵׁ֖י בֹּֽגְד֑וֹת כֹּהֲנֶ֨י/הָ֙ חִלְּלוּ קֹ֔דֶשׁ חָמְס֖וּ תּוֹרָֽה
The iust LORD is in the middest thereof: he will not doe iniquitie: euery morning doeth hee bring his iudgement to light, he faileth not: but the vniust knoweth no shame.

יְהוָ֤ה צַדִּיק֙ בְּ/קִרְבָּ֔/הּ לֹ֥א יַעֲשֶׂ֖ה עַוְלָ֑ה בַּ/בֹּ֨קֶר בַּ/בֹּ֜קֶר מִשְׁפָּט֨/וֹ יִתֵּ֤ן לָ/אוֹר֙ לֹ֣א נֶעְדָּ֔ר וְ/לֹֽא יוֹדֵ֥עַ עַוָּ֖ל בֹּֽשֶׁת
I haue cut off the nations: their towres are desolate, I made their streetes waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroied, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

הִכְרַ֣תִּי גוֹיִ֗ם נָשַׁ֨מּוּ֙ פִּנּוֹתָ֔/ם הֶחֱרַ֥בְתִּי חֽוּצוֹתָ֖/ם מִ/בְּלִ֣י עוֹבֵ֑ר נִצְדּ֧וּ עָרֵי/הֶ֛ם מִ/בְּלִי אִ֖ישׁ מֵ/אֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב
I said, Surely thou wilt feare mee: thou wilt receiue instruction: so their dwelling should not bee cut off, howsoeuer I punished them: but they rose early, & corrupted all their doings.
GenevaI said, Surely thou wilt feare me: thou wilt receiue instruction: so their dwelling shoulde not be destroyed howsoeuer I visited them, but they rose earely and corrupted all their workes.
אָמַ֜רְתִּי אַךְ תִּירְאִ֤י אוֹתִ/י֙ תִּקְחִ֣י מוּסָ֔ר וְ/לֹֽא יִכָּרֵ֣ת מְעוֹנָ֔/הּ כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר פָּקַ֖דְתִּי עָלֶ֑י/הָ אָכֵן֙ הִשְׁכִּ֣ימוּ הִשְׁחִ֔יתוּ כֹּ֖ל עֲלִילוֹתָֽ/ם
¶ Therefore waite ye vpon mee, sayth the LORD, vntill the day that I rise vp to the pray: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdomes to powre vpon them mine indignation, euen all my fierce anger: for all the earth shalbe deuoured with the fire of my iealousie.

לָ/כֵ֤ן חַכּוּ לִ/י֙ נְאֻם יְהוָ֔ה לְ/י֖וֹם קוּמִ֣/י לְ/עַ֑ד כִּ֣י מִשְׁפָּטִ/י֩ לֶ/אֱסֹ֨ף גּוֹיִ֜ם לְ/קָבְצִ֣/י מַמְלָכ֗וֹת לִ/שְׁפֹּ֨ךְ עֲלֵי/הֶ֤ם זַעְמִ/י֙ כֹּ֚ל חֲר֣וֹן אַפִּ֔/י כִּ֚י בְּ/אֵ֣שׁ קִנְאָתִ֔/י תֵּאָכֵ֖ל כָּל הָ/אָֽרֶץ
For then will I turne to the people a pure language, that they may all call vpon the Name of the LORD, to serue him with one consent.

כִּֽי אָ֛ז אֶהְפֹּ֥ךְ אֶל עַמִּ֖ים שָׂפָ֣ה בְרוּרָ֑ה לִ/קְרֹ֤א כֻלָּ/ם֙ בְּ/שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה לְ/עָבְד֖/וֹ שְׁכֶ֥ם אֶחָֽד
From beyond the riuers of Ethiopia, my suppliants, euen the daughter of my dispersed shal bring mine offring.
GenevaFrom beyonde the riuers of Ethiopia, the daughter of my dispersed, praying vnto me, shall bring me an offering.
מֵ/עֵ֖בֶר לְ/נַֽהֲרֵי כ֑וּשׁ עֲתָרַ/י֙ בַּת פוּצַ֔/י יוֹבִל֖וּ/ן מִנְחָתִֽ/י
In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that reioyce in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of mine holy mountaine.

בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֗וּא לֹ֤א תֵב֨וֹשִׁי֙ מִ/כֹּ֣ל עֲלִילֹתַ֔יִ/ךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּשַׁ֖עַתְּ בִּ֑/י כִּי אָ֣ז אָסִ֣יר מִ/קִּרְבֵּ֗/ךְ עַלִּיזֵי֙ גַּאֲוָתֵ֔/ךְ וְ/לֹֽא תוֹסִ֧פִי לְ/גָבְהָ֛ה ע֖וֹד בְּ/הַ֥ר קָדְשִֽׁ/י
I will also leaue in the middest of thee an afflicted and poore people: and they shall trust in the Name of the LORD.
GenevaThen will I leaue in the middes of thee an humble and poore people: and they shall trust in the Name of the Lord.
וְ/הִשְׁאַרְתִּ֣י בְ/קִרְבֵּ֔/ךְ עַ֥ם עָנִ֖י וָ/דָ֑ל וְ/חָס֖וּ בְּ/שֵׁ֥ם יְהוָֽה
The remnant of Israel shall not doe iniquitie, nor speake lies: neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feede, and lie downe, and none shall make them afraid.

שְׁאֵרִ֨ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל לֹֽא יַעֲשׂ֤וּ עַוְלָה֙ וְ/לֹא יְדַבְּר֣וּ כָזָ֔ב וְ/לֹֽא יִמָּצֵ֥א בְּ/פִי/הֶ֖ם לְשׁ֣וֹן תַּרְמִ֑ית כִּֽי הֵ֛מָּה יִרְע֥וּ וְ/רָבְצ֖וּ וְ/אֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד
¶ Sing, O daughter of Zion: shout, O Israel: be glad and reioyce with all the heart, O daughter of Ierusalem.
GenevaReioyce, O daughter Zion: be ye ioyfull, O Israel: be glad and reioyce with all thine heart, O daughter Ierusalem.
רָנִּי֙ בַּת צִיּ֔וֹן הָרִ֖יעוּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל שִׂמְחִ֤י וְ/עָלְזִי֙ בְּ/כָל לֵ֔ב בַּ֖ת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם
The LORD hath taken away thy iudgements, he hath cast out thine enemy: the King of Israel, euen the LORD is in the middest of thee: thou shalt not see euill any more.
GenevaThe Lord hath taken away thy iudgements: hee hath cast out thine enemie: the King of Israel, euen the Lord is in the middes of thee: thou shalt see no more euill.
הֵסִ֤יר יְהוָה֙ מִשְׁפָּטַ֔יִ/ךְ פִּנָּ֖ה אֹֽיְבֵ֑/ךְ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל יְהוָה֙ בְּ/קִרְבֵּ֔/ךְ לֹא תִֽירְאִ֥י רָ֖ע עֽוֹד
In that day it shall be said to Ierusalem, Feare thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slacke.

בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֔וּא יֵאָמֵ֥ר לִ/ירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם אַל תִּירָ֑אִי צִיּ֖וֹן אַל יִרְפּ֥וּ יָדָֽיִ/ךְ
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mightie: hee will saue, he will reioyce ouer thee with ioy: hee will rest in his loue, hee will ioy ouer thee with singing.

יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהַ֛יִ/ךְ בְּ/קִרְבֵּ֖/ך גִּבּ֣וֹר יוֹשִׁ֑יעַ יָשִׂ֨ישׂ עָלַ֜יִ/ךְ בְּ/שִׂמְחָ֗ה יַחֲרִישׁ֙ בְּ/אַ֣הֲבָת֔/וֹ יָגִ֥יל עָלַ֖יִ/ךְ בְּ/רִנָּֽה
I will gather them that are sorrowfull for the solemne assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproch of it was a burden.
GenevaAfter a certaine time will I gather the afflicted that were of thee, and them that bare the reproch for it.
נוּגֵ֧י מִ/מּוֹעֵ֛ד אָסַ֖פְתִּי מִמֵּ֣/ךְ הָי֑וּ מַשְׂאֵ֥ת עָלֶ֖י/הָ חֶרְפָּֽה
Behold, at that time I will vndoe all that afflict thee, and I will saue her that halteth, and gather her that was driuen out, and I will get them praise and fame in euery land, where they haue beene put to shame.

הִנְ/נִ֥י עֹשֶׂ֛ה אֶת כָּל מְעַנַּ֖יִ/ךְ בָּ/עֵ֣ת הַ/הִ֑יא וְ/הוֹשַׁעְתִּ֣י אֶת הַ/צֹּלֵעָ֗ה וְ/הַ/נִּדָּחָה֙ אֲקַבֵּ֔ץ וְ/שַׂמְתִּי/ם֙ לִ/תְהִלָּ֣ה וּ/לְ/שֵׁ֔ם בְּ/כָל הָ/אָ֖רֶץ בָּשְׁתָּֽ/ם
At that time will I bring you againe euen in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turne backe your captiuitie before your eyes, saith the LORD.

בָּ/עֵ֤ת הַ/הִיא֙ אָבִ֣יא אֶתְ/כֶ֔ם וּ/בָ/עֵ֖ת קַבְּצִ֣/י אֶתְ/כֶ֑ם כִּֽי אֶתֵּ֨ן אֶתְ/כֶ֜ם לְ/שֵׁ֣ם וְ/לִ/תְהִלָּ֗ה בְּ/כֹל֙ עַמֵּ֣י הָ/אָ֔רֶץ בְּ/שׁוּבִ֧/י אֶת שְׁבוּתֵי/כֶ֛ם לְ/עֵינֵי/כֶ֖ם אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה
