2 Chronicles 6
Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thicke darkenesse.
GenevaThen Salomon sayd, The Lord hath sayde that he would dwell in the darke cloude:
אָ֖ז אָמַ֣ר שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה יְהוָ֣ה אָמַ֔ר לִ/שְׁכּ֖וֹן בָּ/עֲרָפֶֽל
But I haue built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for euer.
GenevaAnd I haue built thee an house to dwell in, an habitation for thee to dwell in for euer.
וַֽ/אֲנִ֛י בָּנִ֥יתִי בֵית זְבֻ֖ל לָ֑/ךְ וּ/מָכ֥וֹן לְ/שִׁבְתְּ/ךָ֖ עוֹלָמִֽים
And the King turned his face and blessed the whole Congregation of Israel, (and all the Congregation of Israel stood)
GenevaAnd the King turned his face, and blessed all the Congregation of Israel (for all the Congregation of Israel stoode there)
וַ/יַּסֵּ֤ב הַ/מֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ אֶת פָּנָ֔י/ו וַ/יְבָ֕רֶךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְ/כָל קְהַ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עוֹמֵֽד
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his handes fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father Dauid, saying,

וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר בָּר֤וּךְ יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר֙ דִּבֶּ֣ר בְּ/פִ֔י/ו אֵ֖ת דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑/י וּ/בְ/יָדָ֥י/ו מִלֵּ֖א לֵ/אמֹֽר
Since the day that I brought foorth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no citie among all the tribes of Israel to builde an house in, that my Name might be there, neither chose I any man to be a ruler ouer my people Israel:

מִן הַ/יּ֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר הוֹצֵ֣אתִי אֶת עַמִּ/י֮ מֵ/אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַיִם֒ לֹא בָחַ֣רְתִּֽי בְ/עִ֗יר מִ/כֹּל֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִ/בְנ֣וֹת בַּ֔יִת לִ/הְי֥וֹת שְׁמִ֖/י שָׁ֑ם וְ/לֹא בָחַ֣רְתִּֽי בְ/אִ֔ישׁ לִ/הְי֥וֹת נָגִ֖יד עַל עַמִּ֥/י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
But I haue chosen Ierusalem, that my name might be there, and haue chosen Dauid to be ouer my people Israel.

וָ/אֶבְחַר֙ בִּ/יר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם לִ/הְי֥וֹת שְׁמִ֖/י שָׁ֑ם וָ/אֶבְחַ֣ר בְּ/דָוִ֔יד לִ/הְי֖וֹת עַל עַמִּ֥/י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
Now it was in the heart of Dauid my father to build an house for the Name of the LORD God of Israel.
GenevaAnd it was in the heart of Dauid my father to builde an house vnto the Name of the Lord God of Israel,
וַ/יְהִ֕י עִם לְבַ֖ב דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑/י לִ/בְנ֣וֹת בַּ֔יִת לְ/שֵׁ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
But the LORD said to Dauid my father: Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to builde an house for my Name, thou diddest well in that it was in thine heart.
GenevaBut the Lord sayde to Dauid my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to buylde an house vnto my Name, thou diddest well, that thou wast so minded.
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֔/י יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָיָה֙ עִם לְבָ֣בְ/ךָ֔ לִ/בְנ֥וֹת בַּ֖יִת לִ/שְׁמִ֑/י הֱֽטִיב֔וֹתָ כִּ֥י הָיָ֖ה עִם לְבָבֶֽ/ךָ
Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house, but thy sonne which shall come foorth out of thy loynes, he shall build the house for my Name.
GenevaNotwithstanding thou shalt not build the house, but thy sonne which shall come out of thy loynes, he shall buylde an house vnto my Name.
רַ֣ק אַתָּ֔ה לֹ֥א תִבְנֶ֖ה הַ/בָּ֑יִת כִּ֤י בִנְ/ךָ֙ הַ/יּוֹצֵ֣א מֵֽ/חֲלָצֶ֔י/ךָ הֽוּא יִבְנֶ֥ה הַ/בַּ֖יִת לִ/שְׁמִֽ/י
The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen vp in the roome of Dauid my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and haue built the house for the Name of the LORD God of Israel.

וַ/יָּ֣קֶם יְהוָ֔ה אֶת דְּבָר֖/וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֵּ֑ר וָ/אָק֡וּם תַּחַת֩ דָּוִ֨יד אָבִ֜/י וָ/אֵשֵׁ֣ב עַל כִּסֵּ֣א יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כַּ/אֲשֶׁר֙ דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וָ/אֶבְנֶ֣ה הַ/בַּ֔יִת לְ/שֵׁ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And in it haue I put the Arke, wherein is the Couenant of the LORD, that hee made with the children of Israel.
GenevaAnd I haue set the Arke there, wherein is the couenant of the Lord, that he made with the children of Israel.
וָ/אָשִׂ֥ים שָׁם֙ אֶת הָ֣/אָר֔וֹן אֲשֶׁר שָׁ֖ם בְּרִ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖ת עִם בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
¶ And he stood before the Altar of the LORD, in the presence of all the Congregation of Israel, and spread foorth his hands:
GenevaAnd the King stoode before the altar of the Lord, in the presence of all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his hands,
וַֽ/יַּעֲמֹ֗ד לִ/פְנֵי֙ מִזְבַּ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה נֶ֖גֶד כָּל קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַ/יִּפְרֹ֖שׂ כַּפָּֽי/ו
(For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of fiue cubites long, and fiue cubites broad, and three cubites high, and had set it in the midst of the Court, and vpon it hee stood, and kneeled downe vpon his knees before all the Congregation of Israel, and spread foorth his hands towards heauen.)
Geneva(For Salomon had made a brasen skaffold and set it in the middes of the court, of fiue cubites long, and fiue cubites broade, and three cubites of height, and vpon it he stoode, and kneeled downe vpon his knees before all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his hands toward heauen)
כִּֽי עָשָׂ֨ה שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה כִּיּ֣וֹר נְחֹ֗שֶׁת וַֽ/יִּתְּנֵ/הוּ֮ בְּ/ת֣וֹךְ הָ/עֲזָרָה֒ חָמֵ֨שׁ אַמּ֜וֹת אָרְכּ֗/וֹ וְ/חָמֵ֤שׁ אַמּוֹת֙ רָחְבּ֔/וֹ וְ/אַמּ֥וֹת שָׁל֖וֹשׁ קוֹמָת֑/וֹ וַ/יַּעֲמֹ֣ד עָלָ֗י/ו וַ/יִּבְרַ֤ךְ עַל בִּרְכָּי/ו֙ נֶ֚גֶד כָּל קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַ/יִּפְרֹ֥שׂ כַּפָּ֖י/ו הַ/שָּׁמָֽיְמָ/ה
And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heauen, nor in the earth, which keepest couenant, and shewest mercy vnto thy seruants, that walke before thee with all their hearts,
GenevaAnd sayd, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in heauen nor in earth, which keepest couenant, and mercie vnto thy seruants, that walke before thee with all their heart.
וַ/יֹּאמַ֗ר יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֵין כָּמ֣וֹ/ךָ אֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּ/שָּׁמַ֖יִם וּ/בָ/אָ֑רֶץ שֹׁמֵ֤ר הַ/בְּרִית֙ וְֽ/הַ/חֶ֔סֶד לַ/עֲבָדֶ֕י/ךָ הַ/הֹלְכִ֥ים לְ/פָנֶ֖י/ךָ בְּ/כָל לִבָּֽ/ם
Thou which hast kept with thy seruant Dauid my father, that which thou hast promised him: and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֗רְתָּ לְ/עַבְדְּ/ךָ֙ דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֔/י אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ ל֑/וֹ וַ/תְּדַבֵּ֥ר בְּ/פִ֛י/ךָ וּ/בְ/יָדְ/ךָ֥ מִלֵּ֖אתָ כַּ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/זֶּֽה
Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father, that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not faile thee a man in my sight, to sit vpon the throne of Israel: yet so, that thy children take heede to their way, to walke in my Law, as thou hast walked before me.
GenevaTherefore now Lord God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him, saying, Thou shalt not want a man in my sight, that shall sit vpon the throne of Israel: so that thy sonnes take heede to their wayes, to walke in my Lawe, as thou hast walked before me.
וְ/עַתָּ֞ה יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל שְׁ֠מֹר לְ/עַבְדְּ/ךָ֨ דָוִ֤יד אָבִ/י֙ אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבַּ֤רְתָּ לּ/וֹ֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר לֹא יִכָּרֵ֨ת לְ/ךָ֥ אִישׁ֙ מִ/לְּ/פָנַ֔/י יוֹשֵׁ֖ב עַל כִּסֵּ֣א יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רַ֠ק אִם יִשְׁמְר֨וּ בָנֶ֜י/ךָ אֶת דַּרְכָּ֗/ם לָ/לֶ֨כֶת֙ בְּ/ת֣וֹרָתִ֔/י כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָלַ֖כְתָּ לְ/פָנָֽ/י
Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken vnto thy seruant Dauid.
GenevaAnd now, O Lord God of Israel, let thy worde be verified, which thou spakest vnto thy seruant Dauid.
וְ/עַתָּ֕ה יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יֵֽאָמֵן֙ דְּבָ֣רְ/ךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ לְ/עַבְדְּ/ךָ֥ לְ/דָוִֽיד
(But wil God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heauen, and the heauen of heauens cannot conteine thee: how much lesse this house which I haue built?)
Geneva(Is it true in deede that God will dwell with man on earth? beholde, the heauens, and the heauens of heauens are not able to conteine thee: how much more vnable is this house, which I haue buylt?)
כִּ֚י הַֽ/אֻמְנָ֔ם יֵשֵׁ֧ב אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת הָ/אָדָ֖ם עַל הָ/אָ֑רֶץ הִ֠נֵּה שָׁמַ֜יִם וּ/שְׁמֵ֤י הַ/שָּׁמַ֨יִם֙ לֹ֣א יְכַלְכְּל֔וּ/ךָ אַ֕ף כִּֽי הַ/בַּ֥יִת הַ/זֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנִֽיתִי
Haue respect therfore to the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken vnto the cry, and the prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee:
GenevaBut haue thou respect to the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to heare the crye and prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee,
וּ/פָנִ֜יתָ אֶל תְּפִלַּ֧ת עַבְדְּ/ךָ֛ וְ/אֶל תְּחִנָּת֖/וֹ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑/י לִ/שְׁמֹ֤עַ אֶל הָ/רִנָּה֙ וְ/אֶל הַ/תְּפִלָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַבְדְּ/ךָ֖ מִתְפַּלֵּ֥ל לְ/פָנֶֽי/ךָ
That thine eyes may bee open vpon this house day and night, vpon the place whereof thou hast saide, that thou wouldest put thy Name there, to hearken vnto the prayer, which thy seruant prayeth towards this place.
GenevaThat thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, euen toward the place, whereof thou hast sayde, that thou wouldest put thy Name there, that thou mayest hearken vnto the prayer, which thy seruant prayeth in this place.
לִ/הְיוֹת֩ עֵינֶ֨י/ךָ פְתֻח֜וֹת אֶל הַ/בַּ֤יִת הַ/זֶּה֙ יוֹמָ֣ם וָ/לַ֔יְלָה אֶל הַ֨/מָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֔רְתָּ לָ/שׂ֥וּם שִׁמְ/ךָ֖ שָׁ֑ם לִ/שְׁמ֨וֹעַ֙ אֶל הַ/תְּפִלָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל עַבְדְּ/ךָ֔ אֶל הַ/מָּק֖וֹם הַ/זֶּֽה
Hearken therefore vnto the supplications of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make towards this place: heare thou from thy dwelling place, euen from heauen; and when thou hearest, forgiue.
GenevaHeare thou therefore the supplication of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, which they pray in this place: and heare thou in the place of thine habitation, euen in heauen, and when thou hearest, be mercifull.
וְ/שָׁ֨מַעְתָּ֜ אֶל תַּחֲנוּנֵ֤י עַבְדְּ/ךָ֙ וְ/עַמְּ/ךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִֽתְפַּֽלְל֖וּ אֶל הַ/מָּק֣וֹם הַ/זֶּ֑ה וְ֠/אַתָּה תִּשְׁמַ֞ע מִ/מְּק֤וֹם שִׁבְתְּ/ךָ֙ מִן הַ/שָּׁמַ֔יִם וְ/שָׁמַעְתָּ֖ וְ/סָלָֽחְתָּ
¶ If a man sinne against his neighbour, and an oath be layd vpon him, to make him sweare, and the oath come before thine Altar in this house:
GenevaWhen a man shall sinne against his neighbour, and he laye vpon him an othe to cause him to sweare, and the swearer shall come before thine altar in this house,
אִם יֶחֱטָ֥א אִישׁ֙ לְ/רֵעֵ֔/הוּ וְ/נָֽשָׁא ב֥/וֹ אָלָ֖ה לְ/הַֽאֲלֹת֑/וֹ וּ/בָ֗א אָלָ֛ה לִ/פְנֵ֥י מִֽזְבַּחֲ/ךָ֖ בַּ/בַּ֥יִת הַ/זֶּֽה
Then heare thou from heauen, and doe, and iudge thy seruants by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way vpon his owne head, and by iustifying the righteous, by giuing him according to his righteousnesse.
GenevaThen heare thou in heauen, and doe, and iudge thy seruants, in recompensing the wicked to bring his way vpon his head, and in iustifying the righteous, to giue him according to his righteousnes.
וְ/אַתָּ֣ה תִּשְׁמַ֣ע מִן הַ/שָּׁמַ֗יִם וְ/עָשִׂ֨יתָ֙ וְ/שָׁפַטְתָּ֣ אֶת עֲבָדֶ֔י/ךָ לְ/הָשִׁ֣יב לְ/רָשָׁ֔ע לָ/תֵ֥ת דַּרְכּ֖/וֹ בְּ/רֹאשׁ֑/וֹ וּ/לְ/הַצְדִּ֣יק צַדִּ֔יק לָ֥/תֶת ל֖/וֹ כְּ/צִדְקָתֽ/וֹ
¶ And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they haue sinned against thee, and shall returne and confesse thy Name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house:
GenevaAnd when thy people Israel shalbe ouerthrowen before the enemie, because they haue sinned against thee, and turne againe, and confesse thy Name, and pray, and make supplication before thee in this house,
וְֽ/אִם יִנָּגֵ֞ף עַמְּ/ךָ֧ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לִ/פְנֵ֥י אוֹיֵ֖ב כִּ֣י יֶֽחֶטְאוּ לָ֑/ךְ וְ/שָׁ֨בוּ֙ וְ/הוֹד֣וּ אֶת שְׁמֶ֔/ךָ וְ/הִתְפַּֽלְל֧וּ וְ/הִֽתְחַנְּנ֛וּ לְ/פָנֶ֖י/ךָ בַּ/בַּ֥יִת הַ/זֶּֽה
Then heare thou from the heauens, and forgiue the sinne of thy people Israel, and bring them againe vnto the land which thou gauest to them, and to their fathers.
GenevaThen heare thou in heauen, and be mercifull vnto the sinne of thy people Israel, and bring them againe vnto the land which thou gauest to them and to their fathers.
וְ/אַתָּה֙ תִּשְׁמַ֣ע מִן הַ/שָּׁמַ֔יִם וְ/סָ֣לַחְתָּ֔ לְ/חַטַּ֖את עַמְּ/ךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַ/הֲשֵׁיבוֹתָ/ם֙ אֶל הָ֣/אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר נָתַ֥תָּה לָ/הֶ֖ם וְ/לַ/אֲבֹתֵי/הֶֽם
¶ When the heauen is shut vp, and there is no raine, because they haue sinned against thee: yet if they pray towards this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them:
GenevaWhen heauen shall be shut vp, and there shalbe no rayne, because they haue sinned against thee, and shall pray in this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them,
בְּ/הֵעָצֵ֧ר הַ/שָּׁמַ֛יִם וְ/לֹֽא יִהְיֶ֥ה מָטָ֖ר כִּ֣י יֶֽחֶטְאוּ לָ֑/ךְ וְ/הִֽתְפַּלְל֞וּ אֶל הַ/מָּק֤וֹם הַ/זֶּה֙ וְ/הוֹד֣וּ אֶת שְׁמֶ֔/ךָ מֵ/חַטָּאתָ֥/ם יְשׁוּב֖וּ/ן כִּ֥י תַעֲנֵֽ/ם
Then heare thou from heauen, and forgiue the sinne of thy seruants, and of thy people Israel; when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walke, and send raine vpon the land, which thou hast giuen vnto thy people for an inheritance.
GenevaThen heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants, and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught them the good way wherein they may walke) and giue rayne vpon thy lande, which thou hast giuen vnto thy people for an inheritance.
וְ/אַתָּ֣ה תִּשְׁמַ֣ע הַ/שָּׁמַ֗יִם וְ/סָ֨לַחְתָּ֜ לְ/חַטַּ֤את עֲבָדֶ֨י/ךָ֙ וְ/עַמְּ/ךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֥י תוֹרֵ֛/ם אֶל הַ/דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַ/טּוֹבָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵֽלְכוּ בָ֑/הּ וְ/נָתַתָּ֤ה מָטָר֙ עַֽל אַרְצְ/ךָ֔ אֲשֶׁר נָתַ֥תָּה לְ/עַמְּ/ךָ֖ לְ/נַחֲלָֽה
¶ If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mil-dew, locusts or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land: whatsoeuer sore, or whatsoeuer sicknesse there be:
GenevaWhen there shalbe famine in the land, when there shalbe pestilence, blasting, or mildew, when there shall be grashopper, or caterpiller, when their enemie shall besiege them in the cities of their land, or any plague or any sickenesse,
רָעָ֞ב כִּֽי יִהְיֶ֣ה בָ/אָ֗רֶץ דֶּ֣בֶר כִּֽי יִֽ֠הְיֶה שִׁדָּפ֨וֹן וְ/יֵרָק֜וֹן אַרְבֶּ֤ה וְ/חָסִיל֙ כִּ֣י יִהְיֶ֔ה כִּ֧י יָֽצַר ל֛/וֹ אוֹיְבָ֖י/ו בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ שְׁעָרָ֑י/ו כָּל נֶ֖גַע וְ/כָֽל מַחֲלָֽה
Then what prayer, or what supplication soeuer shall bee made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when euery one shal know his owne sore and his owne griefe, and shall spread foorth his hands in this house:
GenevaThen what prayer and supplication so euer shalbe made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, whe euery one shall knowe his owne plague, and his owne disease, and shall stretch forth his hands toward this house,
כָּל תְּפִלָּ֣ה כָל תְּחִנָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר יִהְיֶה֙ לְ/כָל הָ֣/אָדָ֔ם וּ/לְ/כֹ֖ל עַמְּ/ךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵדְע֗וּ אִ֤ישׁ נִגְע/וֹ֙ וּ/מַכְאֹב֔/וֹ וּ/פָרַ֥שׂ כַּפָּ֖י/ו אֶל הַ/בַּ֥יִת הַ/זֶּֽה
Then heare thou from heauen thy dwelling place, and forgiue, and render vnto euery man according vnto all his wayes, whose heart thou knowest (for thou onely knowest the hearts of the children of men:)
GenevaHeare thou then in heauen, thy dwelling place, and be merciful, and giue euery man according vnto all his wayes, as thou doest knowe his heart (for thou onely knowest the hearts of the children of men)
וְ֠/אַתָּה תִּשְׁמַ֨ע מִן הַ/שָּׁמַ֜יִם מְכ֤וֹן שִׁבְתֶּ֨/ךָ֙ וְ/סָ֣לַחְתָּ֔ וְ/נָתַתָּ֤ה לָ/אִישׁ֙ כְּ/כָל דְּרָכָ֔י/ו אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּדַ֖ע אֶת לְבָב֑/וֹ כִּ֤י אַתָּה֙ לְ/בַדְּ/ךָ֣ יָדַ֔עְתָּ אֶת לְבַ֖ב בְּנֵ֥י הָ/אָדָֽם
That they may feare thee, to walke in thy waies so long as they liue in the land which thou gauest vnto our fathers.

לְמַ֣עַן יִֽירָא֗וּ/ךָ לָ/לֶ֨כֶת֙ בִּ/דְרָכֶ֔י/ךָ כָּל הַ֨/יָּמִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר הֵ֥ם חַיִּ֖ים עַל פְּנֵ֣י הָ/אֲדָמָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תָּה לַ/אֲבֹתֵֽי/נוּ
¶ Moreouer concerning the stranger which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a farre countrey for thy great Names sake, & thy mightie hand, and thy stretched out arme: if they come and pray in this house:

וְ/גַ֣ם אֶל הַ/נָּכְרִ֗י אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹ֥א מֵ/עַמְּ/ךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ הוּא֒ וּ/בָ֣א מֵ/אֶ֣רֶץ רְחוֹקָ֗ה לְמַ֨עַן שִׁמְ/ךָ֤ הַ/גָּדוֹל֙ וְ/יָדְ/ךָ֣ הַ/חֲזָקָ֔ה וּֽ/זְרֽוֹעֲ/ךָ֖ הַ/נְּטוּיָ֑ה וּ/בָ֥אוּ וְ/הִֽתְפַּלְל֖וּ אֶל הַ/בַּ֥יִת הַ/זֶּֽה
Then heare thou from the heauens, euen from thy dwelling place, and doe according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy Name, and feare thee, as doeth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I haue built, is called by thy Name.

If thy people goe out to warre against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray vnto thee toward this citie which thou hast chosen, and the house which I haue built for thy Name:

Then heare thou from the heauens their prayer and their supplication, and maintaine their cause.

וְ/שָׁמַעְתָּ֙ מִן הַ/שָּׁמַ֔יִם אֶת תְּפִלָּתָ֖/ם וְ/אֶת תְּחִנָּתָ֑/ם וְ/עָשִׂ֖יתָ מִשְׁפָּטָֽ/ם
If they sinne against thee (for there is no man which sinneth not) and thou be angry with them, and deliuer them ouer before their enemies, and they cary them away captiues vnto a land far off or neere:

Yet if they bethinke themselues in the land whither they are caried captiue, and turne and pray vnto thee in the land of their captiuitie, saying, Wee haue sinned, we haue done amisse, and haue dealt wickedly:

וְ/הֵשִׁ֨יבוּ֙ אֶל לְבָבָ֔/ם בָּ/אָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִשְׁבּוּ שָׁ֑ם וְ/שָׁ֣בוּ וְ/הִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ אֵלֶ֗י/ךָ בְּ/אֶ֤רֶץ שִׁבְיָ/ם֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר חָטָ֥אנוּ הֶעֱוִ֖ינוּ וְ/רָשָֽׁעְנוּ
If they returne to thee with all their heart, and with all their soule, in the land of their captiuitie, whither they haue caried them captiues, and pray toward their land which thou gauest vnto their fathers, and toward the citie which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I haue built for thy Name:

Now, my God, let (I beseech thee) thine eyes bee open, and let thine eares be attent vnto the prayer that is made in this place.

O LORD God, turne not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of Dauid thy seruant.
