2 Kings 24
In his dayes Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came vp, and Iehoiakim became his seruant three yeeres: then hee turned and rebelled against him.
GenevaIn his dayes came Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel vp, and Iehoiakim became his seruant three yeere: afterwarde he turned, and rebelled against him.
בְּ/יָמָ֣י/ו עָלָ֔ה נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֖ר מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל וַ/יְהִי ל֨/וֹ יְהוֹיָקִ֥ים עֶ֨בֶד֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וַ/יָּ֖שָׁב וַ/יִּמְרָד בּֽ/וֹ
And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bandes of the Syrians, and bandes of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Iudah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which hee spake by his seruants the Prophets.

וַ/יְשַׁלַּ֣ח יְהוָ֣ה בּ֡/וֹ אֶת גְּדוּדֵ֣י כַשְׂדִּים֩ וְ/אֶת גְּדוּדֵ֨י אֲרָ֜ם וְ/אֵ֣ת גְּדוּדֵ֣י מוֹאָ֗ב וְ/אֵת֙ גְּדוּדֵ֣י בְנֵֽי עַמּ֔וֹן וַ/יְשַׁלְּחֵ֥/ם בִּֽ/יהוּדָ֖ה לְ/הַֽאֲבִיד֑/וֹ כִּ/דְבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּ/יַ֖ד עֲבָדָ֥י/ו הַ/נְּבִיאִֽים
Surely at the commandement of the LORD came this vpon Iudah, to remooue them out of his sight, for the sinnes of Manasseh, according to all that he did:
GenevaSurely by the commandement of the Lord came this vpon Iudah, that he might put them out of his sight for the sinnes of Manasseh, according to all that he did,
אַ֣ךְ עַל פִּ֣י יְהוָ֗ה הָֽיְתָה֙ בִּֽ/יהוּדָ֔ה לְ/הָסִ֖יר מֵ/עַ֣ל פָּנָ֑י/ו בְּ/חַטֹּ֣את מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה כְּ/כֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָֽׂה
And also for the innocent blood that hee shedde: (for hee filled Ierusalem with innocent blood) which the LORD would not pardon.
GenevaAnd for the innocent blood that he shed, (for he filled Ierusalem with innocent blood) therefore the Lord would not pardon it.
וְ/גַ֤ם דַּֽם הַ/נָּקִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁפָ֔ךְ וַ/יְמַלֵּ֥א אֶת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם דָּ֣ם נָקִ֑י וְ/לֹֽא אָבָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לִ/סְלֹֽחַ
¶ Nowe the rest of the actes of Iehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

וְ/יֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יְהוֹיָקִ֖ים וְ/כָל אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲ/לֹא הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַ/יָּמִ֖ים לְ/מַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה
So Iehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Iehoiachin his sonne reigned in his stead.

וַ/יִּשְׁכַּ֥ב יְהוֹיָקִ֖ים עִם אֲבֹתָ֑י/ו וַ/יִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יְהוֹיָכִ֥ין בְּנ֖/וֹ תַּחְתָּֽי/ו
And the king of Egypt came not againe any more out of his land: for the King of Babylon had taken from the riuer of Egypt, vnto the riuer Euphrates, all that pertained to the King of Egypt.
GenevaAnd the King of Egypt came no more out of his lande: for the King of Babel had taken from the riuer of Egypt, vnto the riuer Perath, all that pertained to the King of Egypt.
וְ/לֹֽא הֹסִ֥יף עוֹד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם לָ/צֵ֖את מֵֽ/אַרְצ֑/וֹ כִּֽי לָקַ֞ח מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֗ל מִ/נַּ֤חַל מִצְרַ֨יִם֙ עַד נְהַר פְּרָ֔ת כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיְתָ֖ה לְ/מֶ֥לֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם
¶ Iehoiachin was eighteene yeres old when he began to reigne, & he reigned in Ierusalem three moneths: & his mothers name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan, of Ierusalem.

בֶּן שְׁמֹנֶ֨ה עֶשְׂרֵ֤ה שָׁנָה֙ יְהוֹיָכִ֣ין בְּ/מָלְכ֔/וֹ וּ/שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה חֳדָשִׁ֔ים מָלַ֖ךְ בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְ/שֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔/וֹ נְחֻשְׁתָּ֥א בַת אֶלְנָתָ֖ן מִ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם
And hee did that which was euill in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
GenevaAnd he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father had done.
וַ/יַּ֥עַשׂ הָ/רַ֖ע בְּ/עֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּ/כֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂ֖ה אָבִֽי/ו
¶ At that time the seruants of Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon came vp against Ierusalem, and the citie was besieged.

בָּ/עֵ֣ת הַ/הִ֔יא עלה עַבְדֵ֛י נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וַ/תָּבֹ֥א הָ/עִ֖יר בַּ/מָּצֽוֹר
And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the citie, and his seruants did besiege it.
GenevaAnd Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel came against the citie, and his seruants did besiege it.
וַ/יָּבֹ֛א נְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל עַל הָ/עִ֑יר וַ/עֲבָדָ֖י/ו צָרִ֥ים עָלֶֽי/הָ
And Iehoiachin the King of Iudah went out to the king of Babylon, hee, and his mother, and his seruants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon tooke him in the eight yeere of his reigne.

וַ/יֵּצֵ֞א יְהוֹיָכִ֤ין מֶֽלֶךְ יְהוּדָה֙ עַל מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל ה֣וּא וְ/אִמּ֔/וֹ וַ/עֲבָדָ֖י/ו וְ/שָׂרָ֣י/ו וְ/סָֽרִיסָ֑י/ו וַ/יִּקַּ֤ח אֹת/וֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל בִּ/שְׁנַ֥ת שְׁמֹנֶ֖ה לְ/מָלְכֽ/וֹ
And hee caried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasure of the kings house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon King of Israel had made in the Temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.

וַ/יּוֹצֵ֣א מִ/שָּׁ֗ם אֶת כָּל אוֹצְרוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה וְ/אֽוֹצְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית הַ/מֶּ֑לֶךְ וַ/יְקַצֵּ֞ץ אֶת כָּל כְּלֵ֣י הַ/זָּהָ֗ב אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֜ה שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה מֶֽלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּ/הֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֔ה כַּֽ/אֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה
And hee caried away all Ierusalem, and all the princes, & all the mighty men of valour, euen tenne thousand captiues, and all the craftsmen, and smiths: none remained, saue the poorest sort of the people of the land.
GenevaAnd he caryed away all Ierusalem, and all the princes, and all the strong men of warre, euen ten thousande into captiuitie, and all the workemen, and cunning men: so none remained sauing the poore people of the lande.
וְ/הִגְלָ֣ה אֶת כָּל יְ֠רוּשָׁלִַם וְֽ/אֶת כָּל הַ/שָּׂרִ֞ים וְ/אֵ֣ת כָּל גִּבּוֹרֵ֣י הַ/חַ֗יִל עשרה אֲלָפִים֙ גּוֹלֶ֔ה וְ/כָל הֶ/חָרָ֖שׁ וְ/הַ/מַּסְגֵּ֑ר לֹ֣א נִשְׁאַ֔ר זוּלַ֖ת דַּלַּ֥ת עַם הָ/אָֽרֶץ
And he caried away Iehoiachin to Babylon, and the kings mother, and the kings wiues, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those caried hee into captiuitie, from Ierusalem to Babylon.
GenevaAnd he caryed away Iehoiachin into Babel, and the Kings mother, and the Kinges wiues, and his eunuches, and the mightie of the lande caryed he away into captiuitie from Ierusalem to Babel,
וַ/יֶּ֥גֶל אֶת יְהוֹיָכִ֖ין בָּבֶ֑לָ/ה וְ/אֶת אֵ֣ם הַ֠/מֶּלֶךְ וְ/אֶת נְשֵׁ֨י הַ/מֶּ֜לֶךְ וְ/אֶת סָרִיסָ֗י/ו וְ/אֵת֙ אולי הָ/אָ֔רֶץ הוֹלִ֛יךְ גּוֹלָ֥ה מִ/ירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם בָּבֶֽלָ/ה
And all the men of might, euen seuen thousand, and craftesmen, & smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for warre, euen them the king of Babylon brought captiue to Babylon.
GenevaAnd al the men of warre, euen seuen thousand, and carpenters, and lockesmithes a thousande: all that were strong and apt for warre, did the King of Babel bring to Babel captiues.
וְ/אֵת֩ כָּל אַנְשֵׁ֨י הַ/חַ֜יִל שִׁבְעַ֣ת אֲלָפִ֗ים וְ/הֶ/חָרָ֤שׁ וְ/הַ/מַּסְגֵּר֙ אֶ֔לֶף הַ/כֹּ֕ל גִּבּוֹרִ֖ים עֹשֵׂ֣י מִלְחָמָ֑ה וַ/יְבִיאֵ֧/ם מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֛ל גּוֹלָ֖ה בָּבֶֽלָ/ה
¶ And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his fathers brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

וַ/יַּמְלֵ֧ךְ מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֛ל אֶת מַתַּנְיָ֥ה דֹד֖/וֹ תַּחְתָּ֑י/ו וַ/יַּסֵּ֥ב אֶת שְׁמ֖/וֹ צִדְקִיָּֽהוּ
Zedekiah was twentie and one yeeres olde when hee began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Hamutal, the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.

And hee did that which was euill in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Iehoiachin had done.
GenevaAnd he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Iehoiakim had done.
וַ/יַּ֥עַשׂ הָ/רַ֖ע בְּ/עֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּ/כֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂ֖ה יְהוֹיָקִֽים
For through the anger of the LORD it came to passe in Ierusalem and Iudah, vntill he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
GenevaTherefore certainly the wrath of the Lord was against Ierusalem and Iudah vntill he cast them out of his sight. And Zedekiah rebelled against the King of Babel.
כִּ֣י עַל אַ֣ף יְהוָ֗ה הָיְתָ֤ה בִ/ירוּשָׁלִַ֨ם֙ וּ/בִ֣/יהוּדָ֔ה עַד הִשְׁלִכ֥/וֹ אֹתָ֖/ם מֵ/עַ֣ל פָּנָ֑י/ו וַ/יִּמְרֹ֥ד צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ בְּ/מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶֽל
