Chapter 19
Ezekiel 19
Moreouer, take thou vp a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
GenevaThou also, take vp a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
וְ/אַתָּה֙ שָׂ֣א קִינָ֔ה אֶל נְשִׂיאֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And say, What is thy mother? a lyonesse: shee lay downe among lions, she nourished her whelpes among yong lions.
GenevaAnd say, Wherefore lay thy mother as a lyonesse among the lyons? she nourished her yong ones among the lyons whelps,
וְ/אָמַרְתָּ֗ מָ֤ה אִמְּ/ךָ֙ לְבִיָּ֔א בֵּ֥ין אֲרָי֖וֹת רָבָ֑צָה בְּ/ת֥וֹךְ כְּפִרִ֖ים רִבְּתָ֥ה גוּרֶֽי/הָ
And shee brought vp one of her whelps: it became a yong lion, & it learned to catch the pray, it deuoured men.

וַ/תַּ֛עַל אֶחָ֥ד מִ/גֻּרֶ֖י/הָ כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה וַ/יִּלְמַ֥ד לִ/טְרָף טֶ֖רֶף אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל
The nations also heard of him, hee was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chaines vnto the land of Egypt.

וַ/יִּשְׁמְע֥וּ אֵלָ֛י/ו גּוֹיִ֖ם בְּ/שַׁחְתָּ֣/ם נִתְפָּ֑שׂ וַ/יְבִאֻ֥/הוּ בַֽ/חַחִ֖ים אֶל אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם
Now when she saw that shee had waited, and her hope was lost, then she tooke another of her whelps, and made him a yong lion.

וַ/תֵּ֨רֶא֙ כִּ֣י נֽוֹחֲלָ֔ה אָבְדָ֖ה תִּקְוָתָ֑/הּ וַ/תִּקַּ֛ח אֶחָ֥ד מִ/גֻּרֶ֖י/הָ כְּפִ֥יר שָׂמָֽתְ/הוּ
And he went vp and downe among the lions, he became a yong lion, and learned to catch the pray, and deuoured men.

וַ/יִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בְּ/תוֹךְ אֲרָי֖וֹת כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה וַ/יִּלְמַ֥ד לִ/טְרָף טֶ֖רֶף אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל
And he knew there desolate palaces, and he laied waste their cities, and the land was desolate, and the fulnesse thereof by the noise of his roaring.
GenevaAnd he knew their widowes, and he destroyed their cities, and the land was wasted, and all that was therein by the noyse of his roaring.
וַ/יֵּ֨דַע֙ אַלְמְנוֹתָ֔י/ו וְ/עָרֵי/הֶ֖ם הֶחֱרִ֑יב וַ/תֵּ֤שַׁם אֶ֨רֶץ֙ וּ/מְלֹאָ֔/הּ מִ/קּ֖וֹל שַׁאֲגָתֽ/וֹ
Then the nations set against him on euery side from the prouinces, and spread their net ouer him: he was taken in their pit.

וַ/יִּתְּנ֨וּ עָלָ֥י/ו גּוֹיִ֛ם סָבִ֖יב מִ/מְּדִינ֑וֹת וַֽ/יִּפְרְשׂ֥וּ עָלָ֛י/ו רִשְׁתָּ֖/ם בְּ/שַׁחְתָּ֥/ם נִתְפָּֽשׂ
And they put him in ward in chaines, and brought him to the king of Babylon, they brought him into holds, that his voyce should no more be heard vpon the mountaines of Israel.

וַֽ/יִּתְּנֻ֤/הוּ בַ/סּוּגַר֙ בַּֽ/חַחִ֔ים וַ/יְבִאֻ֖/הוּ אֶל מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל יְבִאֻ֨/הוּ֙ בַּ/מְּצֹד֔וֹת לְמַ֗עַן לֹא יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹל֛/וֹ ע֖וֹד אֶל הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
¶ Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters, she was fruitfull and full of branches by reason of many waters,

אִמְּ/ךָ֥ כַ/גֶּ֛פֶן בְּ/דָמְ/ךָ֖ עַל מַ֣יִם שְׁתוּלָ֑ה פֹּֽרִיָּה֙ וַֽ/עֲנֵפָ֔ה הָיְתָ֖ה מִ/מַּ֥יִם רַבִּֽים
And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that beare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thicke branches, & she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

וַ/יִּֽהְיוּ לָ֞/הּ מַטּ֣וֹת עֹ֗ז אֶל שִׁבְטֵי֙ מֹֽשְׁלִ֔ים וַ/תִּגְבַּ֥הּ קֽוֹמָת֖/וֹ עַל בֵּ֣ין עֲבֹתִ֑ים וַ/יֵּרָ֣א בְ/גָבְה֔/וֹ בְּ/רֹ֖ב דָּלִיֹּתָֽי/ו
But she was plucked vp in fury: she was cast downe to the ground, and the East wind dryed vp her fruite: her strong rods were broken and withered, the fire consumed them.

וַ/תֻּתַּ֤שׁ בְּ/חֵמָה֙ לָ/אָ֣רֶץ הֻשְׁלָ֔כָה וְ/ר֥וּחַ הַ/קָּדִ֖ים הוֹבִ֣ישׁ פִּרְיָ֑/הּ הִתְפָּרְק֧וּ וְ/יָבֵ֛שׁוּ מַטֵּ֥ה עֻזָּ֖/הּ אֵ֥שׁ אֲכָלָֽתְ/הוּ
And now she is planted in the wildernesse, in a dry and thirsty ground.
GenevaAnd now she is planted in the wildernes in a drie and thirstie ground.
וְ/עַתָּ֖ה שְׁתוּלָ֣ה בַ/מִּדְבָּ֑ר בְּ/אֶ֖רֶץ צִיָּ֥ה וְ/צָמָֽא
And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath deuoured her fruite, so that she hath no strong rod to be a scepter to rule: this is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

וַ/תֵּצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ מִ/מַּטֵּ֤ה בַדֶּ֨י/הָ֙ פִּרְיָ֣/הּ אָכָ֔לָה וְ/לֹא הָ֥יָה בָ֛/הּ מַטֵּה עֹ֖ז שֵׁ֣בֶט לִ/מְשׁ֑וֹל קִ֥ינָה הִ֖יא וַ/תְּהִ֥י לְ/קִינָֽה
