Ezekiel 9
Hee cryed also in mine eares, with a loude voyce, saying; Cause them that hauecharge ouer the citie, to draw neere, euen euery man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
GenevaHe cryed also with a loude voyce in mine eares, saying, The visitations of the citie draw neere, and euery man hath a weapon in his hande to destroy it.
וַ/יִּקְרָ֣א בְ/אָזְנַ֗/י ק֤וֹל גָּדוֹל֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר קָרְב֖וּ פְּקֻדּ֣וֹת הָ/עִ֑יר וְ/אִ֛ישׁ כְּלִ֥י מַשְׁחֵת֖/וֹ בְּ/יָדֽ/וֹ
And behold, sixe men came from the way of the higher gate, which lyeth toward the North, and euery man a slaughter weapon in his hand: and one man among them was clothed with linnen, with a writers inkehorne by his side, and they went in and stood beside the brasen altar.

וְ/הִנֵּ֣ה שִׁשָּׁ֣ה אֲנָשִׁ֡ים בָּאִ֣ים מִ/דֶּרֶךְ שַׁ֨עַר הָ/עֶלְי֜וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָפְנֶ֣ה צָפ֗וֹנָ/ה וְ/אִ֨ישׁ כְּלִ֤י מַפָּצ/וֹ֙ בְּ/יָד֔/וֹ וְ/אִישׁ אֶחָ֤ד בְּ/תוֹכָ/ם֙ לָבֻ֣שׁ בַּדִּ֔ים וְ/קֶ֥סֶת הַ/סֹּפֵ֖ר בְּ/מָתְנָ֑י/ו וַ/יָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ וַ/יַּ֣עַמְד֔וּ אֵ֖צֶל מִזְבַּ֥ח הַ/נְּחֹֽשֶׁת
And the glory of the God of Israel was gone vp from the Cherub whereupon hee was, to the threshold of the house, and he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers inkehorne by his side.
GenevaAnd the glorie of the God of Israel was gone vp from ye Cherub, whereupon he was and stoode on the doore of the house, and he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers ynkhorne by his side.
וּ/כְב֣וֹד אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל נַעֲלָה֙ מֵ/עַ֤ל הַ/כְּרוּב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה עָלָ֔י/ו אֶ֖ל מִפְתַּ֣ן הַ/בָּ֑יִת וַ/יִּקְרָ֗א אֶל הָ/אִישׁ֙ הַ/לָּבֻ֣שׁ הַ/בַּדִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֛ר קֶ֥סֶת הַ/סֹּפֵ֖ר בְּ/מָתְנָֽי/ו
And the LORD sayd vnto him, Goe through the middest of the citie, through the middest of Ierusalem, and set a marke vpon the foreheads of the men that sigh, and that cry for all the abominations, that bee done in the middest thereof.

וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אל/ו עֲבֹר֙ בְּ/ת֣וֹךְ הָ/עִ֔יר בְּ/ת֖וֹךְ יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְ/הִתְוִ֨יתָ תָּ֜ו עַל מִצְח֣וֹת הָ/אֲנָשִׁ֗ים הַ/נֶּֽאֱנָחִים֙ וְ/הַ/נֶּ֣אֱנָקִ֔ים עַ֚ל כָּל הַ/תּ֣וֹעֵב֔וֹת הַֽ/נַּעֲשׂ֖וֹת בְּ/תוֹכָֽ/הּ
¶ And to the others he said in mine hearing, Goe ye after him through the citie, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither haue ye pitie.
GenevaAnd to the other he said, that I might heare, Goe ye after him through the citie, and smite: let your eye spare none, neither haue pitie.
וּ/לְ/אֵ֨לֶּה֙ אָמַ֣ר בְּ/אָזְנַ֔/י עִבְר֥וּ בָ/עִ֛יר אַחֲרָ֖י/ו וְ/הַכּ֑וּ על תָּחֹ֥ס עיני/כם וְ/אַל תַּחְמֹֽלוּ
Slay vtterly olde and yong; both maides, and litle children, and women: but come not neere any man vpon whom is the marke, and begin at my sanctuary: then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
GenevaDestroy vtterly the old, and the yong, and the maides, and the children, and the women, but touch no man, vpon whome is the marke, and begin at my Sanctuarie. Then they began at the Ancient men, which were before the house.
זָקֵ֡ן בָּח֣וּר וּ/בְתוּלָה֩ וְ/טַ֨ף וְ/נָשִׁ֜ים תַּהַרְג֣וּ לְ/מַשְׁחִ֗ית וְ/עַל כָּל אִ֨ישׁ אֲשֶׁר עָלָ֤י/ו הַ/תָּו֙ אַל תִּגַּ֔שׁוּ וּ/מִ/מִּקְדָּשִׁ֖/י תָּחֵ֑לּוּ וַ/יָּחֵ֨לּוּ֙ בָּ/אֲנָשִׁ֣ים הַ/זְּקֵנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר לִ/פְנֵ֥י הַ/בָּֽיִת
And hee sayd vnto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slaine, goe ye forth: and they went forth and slew in the citie.
GenevaAnd he sayde vnto them, Defile the house, and fill the courtes with the slaine, then goe foorth: and they went out, and slewe them in the citie.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵי/הֶ֜ם טַמְּא֣וּ אֶת הַ/בַּ֗יִת וּ/מַלְא֧וּ אֶת הַ/חֲצֵר֛וֹת חֲלָלִ֖ים צֵ֑אוּ וְ/יָצְא֖וּ וְ/הִכּ֥וּ בָ/עִֽיר
¶ And it came to passe while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell vpon my face, and cryed and said, Ah, Lord GOD, wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel, in thy powring out of thy fury vpon Ierusalem?
GenevaNowe when they had slaine them, and I had escaped, I fell downe vpon my face, and cryed, saying, Ah Lord God, wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel, in powring out thy wrath vpon Ierusalem?
וַֽ/יְהִי֙ כְּ/הַכּוֹתָ֔/ם וְ/נֵֽאשֲׁאַ֖ר אָ֑נִי וָ/אֶפְּלָ֨/ה עַל פָּנַ֜/י וָ/אֶזְעַ֗ק וָֽ/אֹמַר֙ אֲהָהּ֙ אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֔ה הֲ/מַשְׁחִ֣ית אַתָּ֗ה אֵ֚ת כָּל שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּ/שָׁפְכְּ/ךָ֥ אֶת חֲמָתְ/ךָ֖ עַל יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם
Then sayd he vnto me; The iniquity of the house of Israel and Iudah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the citie full of peruersenesse: for they say; The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
GenevaThen saide he vnto me, The iniquitie of the house of Israel, and Iudah is exceeding great, so that the lande is full of blood, and the citie full of corrupt iudgement: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth vs not.
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗/י עֲוֺ֨ן בֵּֽית יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל וִֽ/יהוּדָה֙ גָּדוֹל֙ בִּ/מְאֹ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד וַ/תִּמָּלֵ֤א הָ/אָ֨רֶץ֙ דָּמִ֔ים וְ/הָ/עִ֖יר מָלְאָ֣ה מֻטֶּ֑ה כִּ֣י אָמְר֗וּ עָזַ֤ב יְהוָה֙ אֶת הָ/אָ֔רֶץ וְ/אֵ֥ין יְהוָ֖ה רֹאֶֽה
And as for me also, mine eye shal not spare, neither will I haue pitie, but I will recompence their way vpon their head.
GenevaAs touching me also, mine eye shall not spare them, neither will I haue pitie, but will recompence their wayes vpon their heades.
וְ/גַ֨ם אֲנִ֔י לֹא תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֖/י וְ/לֹ֣א אֶחְמֹ֑ל דַּרְכָּ֖/ם בְּ/רֹאשָׁ֥/ם נָתָֽתִּי
And behold, the man clothed with linnen, which had the inkehorne by his side, reported the matter, saying; I haue done as thou hast commanded me.
GenevaAnd beholde, the man clothed with linen which had the ynkhorne by his side, made report, and saide, Lord, I haue done as thou hast commanded me.
וְ/הִנֵּ֞ה הָ/אִ֣ישׁ לְבֻ֣שׁ הַ/בַּדִּ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר הַ/קֶּ֨סֶת֙ בְּ/מָתְנָ֔י/ו מֵשִׁ֥יב דָּבָ֖ר לֵ/אמֹ֑ר עָשִׂ֕יתִי כ/אשר צִוִּיתָֽ/נִי
