Job 27

Moreouer Iob continued his parable, and sayd,

וַ/יֹּ֣סֶף אִ֭יּוֹב שְׂאֵ֥ת מְשָׁל֗/וֹ וַ/יֹּאמַֽר

As God liueth, who hath taken away my iudgment, and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soule;

GenevaThe liuing God hath taken away my iudgement: for the Almightie hath put my soule in bitternesse.

חַי אֵ֭ל הֵסִ֣יר מִשְׁפָּטִ֑/י וְ֝/שַׁדַּ֗י הֵמַ֥ר נַפְשִֽׁ/י

All the while my breath is in mee, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

GenevaYet so long as my breath is in me, and the Spirit of God in my nostrels,

כִּֽי כָל ע֣וֹד נִשְׁמָתִ֣/י בִ֑/י וְ/ר֖וּחַ אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּ/אַפִּֽ/י

My lips shall not speake wickednesse, nor my tongue vtter deceit.

GenevaMy lips surely shall speake no wickednesse, and my tongue shall vtter no deceite.

אִם תְּדַבֵּ֣רְנָה שְׂפָתַ֣/י עַוְלָ֑ה וּ֝/לְשׁוֹנִ֗/י אִם יֶהְגֶּ֥ה רְמִיָּֽה

God forbid that I should iustifie you: till I die, I will not remoue my integritie from me.

GenevaGod forbid, that I should iustifie you: vntill I dye, I will neuer take away mine innocencie from my selfe.

חָלִ֣ילָ/ה לִּ/י֮ אִם אַצְדִּ֪יק אֶ֫תְ/כֶ֥ם עַד אֶגְוָ֑ע לֹא אָסִ֖יר תֻּמָּתִ֣/י מִמֶּֽ/נִּי

My righteousnesse I hold fast, and will not let it goe: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I liue.

GenevaI will keepe my righteousnesse, and wil not forsake it: mine heart shall not reprooue me of my dayes.

בְּ/צִדְקָתִ֣/י הֶ֭חֱזַקְתִּי וְ/לֹ֣א אַרְפֶּ֑/הָ לֹֽא יֶחֱרַ֥ף לְ֝בָבִ֗/י מִ/יָּמָֽ/י

Let mine enemie be as the wicked, and he that riseth vp against me, as the vnrighteous.

GenevaMine enemie shall be as the wicked, and he that riseth against me, as the vnrighteous.

יְהִ֣י כְ֭/רָשָׁע אֹ֣יְבִ֑/י וּ/מִתְקוֹמְמִ֥/י כְ/עַוָּֽל

For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soule?

GenevaFor what hope hath the hypocrite when he hath heaped vp riches, if God take away his soule?

כִּ֤י מַה תִּקְוַ֣ת חָ֭נֵף כִּ֣י יִבְצָ֑ע כִּ֤י יֵ֖שֶׁל אֱל֣וֹהַּ נַפְשֽׁ/וֹ

Will God heare his cry, when trouble commeth vpon him?

GenevaWill God heare his cry, when trouble commeth vpon him?

הַֽ֭/צַעֲקָת/וֹ יִשְׁמַ֥ע אֵ֑ל כִּֽי תָב֖וֹא עָלָ֣י/ו צָרָֽה

Will he delight himselfe in the Almightie? will hee alwayes call vpon God?

GenevaWill he set his delight on the Almightie? will he call vpon God at all times?

אִם עַל שַׁדַּ֥י יִתְעַנָּ֑ג יִקְרָ֖א אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּ/כָל עֵֽת

I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almightie, will I not conceale.

GenevaI will teache you what is in the hande of God, and I wil not conceale that which is with the Almightie.

אוֹרֶ֣ה אֶתְ/כֶ֣ם בְּ/יַד אֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עִם שַׁ֝דַּ֗י לֹ֣א אֲכַחֵֽד

Behold, all ye your selues haue seene it, why then are yee thus altogether vaine?

GenevaBeholde, all ye your selues haue seene it: why then doe you thus vanish in vanitie?

הֵן אַתֶּ֣ם כֻּלְּ/כֶ֣ם חֲזִיתֶ֑ם וְ/לָ/מָּה זֶּ֝֗ה הֶ֣בֶל תֶּהְבָּֽלוּ

This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressours which they shall receiue of the Almightie.

זֶ֤ה חֵֽלֶק אָדָ֖ם רָשָׁ֥ע עִם אֵ֑ל וְֽ/נַחֲלַ֥ת עָ֝רִיצִ֗ים מִ/שַּׁדַּ֥י יִקָּֽחוּ

If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offpring shall not be satisfied with bread.

GenevaIf his children be in great nomber, the sworde shall destroy them, and his posteritie shall not be satisfied with bread.

אִם יִרְבּ֣וּ בָנָ֣י/ו לְמוֹ חָ֑רֶב וְ֝/צֶאֱצָאָ֗י/ו לֹ֣א יִשְׂבְּעוּ לָֽחֶם

Those that remaine of him shall bee buried in death: and his widowes shall not weepe.

שריד/ו בַּ/מָּ֣וֶת יִקָּבֵ֑רוּ וְ֝/אַלְמְנֹתָ֗י/ו לֹ֣א תִבְכֶּֽינָה

Though he heape vp siluer as the dust, and prepare rayment as the clay:

GenevaThough he shoulde heape vp siluer as the dust, and prepare rayment as the clay,

אִם יִצְבֹּ֣ר כֶּ/עָפָ֣ר כָּ֑סֶף וְ֝/כַ/חֹ֗מֶר יָכִ֥ין מַלְבּֽוּשׁ

He may prepare it, but the iust shall put it on, and the innocent shall diuide the siluer.

יָ֭כִין וְ/צַדִּ֣יק יִלְבָּ֑שׁ וְ֝/כֶ֗סֶף נָקִ֥י יַחֲלֹֽק

He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.

בָּנָ֣ה כָ/עָ֣שׁ בֵּית֑/וֹ וּ֝/כְ/סֻכָּ֗ה עָשָׂ֥ה נֹצֵֽר

The rich man shall lie downe, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not:

GenevaWhen the rich man sleepeth, he shall not be gathered to his fathers: they opened their eyes, and he was gone.

עָשִׁ֣יר יִ֭שְׁכַּב וְ/לֹ֣א יֵאָסֵ֑ף עֵינָ֖י/ו פָּקַ֣ח וְ/אֵינֶֽ/נּוּ

Terrours take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.

GenevaTerrours shall take him as waters, and a tempest shall cary him away by night.

תַּשִּׂיגֵ֣/הוּ כַ֭/מַּיִם בַּלָּה֑וֹת לַ֝֗יְלָה גְּנָבַ֥תּ/וּ סוּפָֽה

The East winde carieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storme hurleth him out of his place.

GenevaThe East winde shall take him away, and he shall depart: and it shall hurle him out of his place.

יִשָּׂאֵ֣/הוּ קָדִ֣ים וְ/יֵלַ֑ךְ וִֽ֝/ישָׂעֲרֵ֗/הוּ מִ/מְּקֹמֽ/וֹ

For God shall cast vpon him, and not spare: hee would faine flee out of his hand.

GenevaAnd God shall cast vpon him and not spare, though he would faine flee out of his hand.

וְ/יַשְׁלֵ֣ךְ עָ֭לָי/ו וְ/לֹ֣א יַחְמֹ֑ל מִ֝/יָּד֗/וֹ בָּר֥וֹחַ יִבְרָֽח

Men shall clap their handes at him, and shall hisse him out of his place.

GenevaEuery man shall clap their hands at him, and hisse at him out of their place.

יִשְׂפֹּ֣ק עָלֵ֣י/מוֹ כַפֵּ֑י/מוֹ וְ/יִשְׁרֹ֥ק עָ֝לָ֗י/ו מִ/מְּקֹמֽ/וֹ
