Job 32
So these three men ceased to answere Iob, because he was righteous in his owne eyes.

וַֽ/יִּשְׁבְּת֡וּ שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת הָ/אֲנָשִׁ֣ים הָ֭/אֵלֶּה מֵ/עֲנ֣וֹת אֶת אִיּ֑וֹב כִּ֤י ה֖וּא צַדִּ֣יק בְּ/עֵינָֽי/ו
Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu, the sonne of Barachel the Buzite, of the kinred of Ram: against Iob was his wrath kindled, because he iustified himselfe rather then God.

וַ/יִּ֤חַר אַ֨ף אֱלִיה֣וּא בֶן בַּרַכְאֵ֣ל הַ/בּוּזִי֮ מִ/מִּשְׁפַּ֪חַ֫ת רָ֥ם בְּ֭/אִיּוֹב חָרָ֣ה אַפּ֑/וֹ עַֽל צַדְּק֥/וֹ נַ֝פְשׁ֗/וֹ מֵ/אֱלֹהִֽים
Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled: because they had found no answere, and yet had condemned Iob.

וּ/בִ/שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת רֵעָי/ו֮ חָרָ֪ה אַ֫פּ֥/וֹ עַ֤ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא מָצְא֣וּ מַעֲנֶ֑ה וַ֝/יַּרְשִׁ֗יעוּ אֶת אִיּֽוֹב
Now Elihu had waited till Iob had spoken: because they were elder then he.

וֶֽ/אֱלִיה֗וּ חִכָּ֣ה אֶת אִ֭יּוֹב בִּ/דְבָרִ֑ים כִּ֤י זְֽקֵנִים הֵ֖מָּה מִמֶּ֣/נּוּ לְ/יָמִֽים
When Elihu saw that there was no answere in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

וַ/יַּ֤רְא אֱלִיה֗וּא כִּ֘י אֵ֤ין מַעֲנֶ֗ה בְּ֭/פִי שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת הָ/אֲנָשִׁ֗ים וַ/יִּ֥חַר אַפּֽ/וֹ
And Elihu the sonne of Barachel the Buzite answered and sayd: I am yong, and yee are very old, wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

וַ/יַּ֤עַן אֱלִיה֖וּא בֶן בַּֽרַכְאֵ֥ל הַ/בּוּזִ֗י וַ/יֹּ֫אמַ֥ר צָ֘עִ֤יר אֲנִ֣י לְ֭/יָמִים וְ/אַתֶּ֣ם יְשִׁישִׁ֑ים עַל כֵּ֖ן זָחַ֥לְתִּי וָֽ/אִירָ֓א מֵ/חַוֺּ֖ת דֵּעִ֣/י אֶתְ/כֶֽם
I said, Dayes should speake, and multitude of yeeres should teach wisedome.

אָ֭מַרְתִּי יָמִ֣ים יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ וְ/רֹ֥ב שָׁ֝נִ֗ים יֹדִ֥יעוּ חָכְמָֽה
But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almightie giueth them vnderstanding.

אָ֭כֵן רֽוּחַ הִ֣יא בֶ/אֱנ֑וֹשׁ וְ/נִשְׁמַ֖ת שַׁדַּ֣י תְּבִינֵֽ/ם
Great men are not alwayes wise: neither doe the aged vnderstand iudgement.

Therfore I sayd, Hearken to me: I also will shew mine opinion.

לָ/כֵ֣ן אָ֭מַרְתִּי שִׁמְעָ/ה לִּ֑/י אֲחַוֶּ֖ה דֵּעִ֣/י אַף אָֽנִי
Behold, I waited for your words: I gaue eare to your reasons, whilest you searched out what to say.

הֵ֤ן הוֹחַ֨לְתִּי לְֽ/דִבְרֵי/כֶ֗ם אָ֭זִין עַד תְּב֥וּנֹֽתֵי/כֶ֑ם עַֽד תַּחְקְר֥וּ/ן מִלִּֽין
Yea, I attended vnto you: and beholde, there was none of you that conuinced Iob, or that answered his words:

וְ/עָֽדֵי/כֶ֗ם אֶתְבּ֫וֹנָ֥ן וְ/הִנֵּ֤ה אֵ֣ין לְ/אִיּ֣וֹב מוֹכִ֑יחַ עוֹנֶ֖ה אֲמָרָ֣י/ו מִ/כֶּֽם
Lest ye should say, We haue found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

פֶּן תֹּ֣֭אמְרוּ מָצָ֣אנוּ חָכְמָ֑ה אֵ֖ל יִדְּפֶ֣/נּוּ לֹא אִֽישׁ
Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answere him with your speeches.
Geneva 1599Yet hath he not directed his words to me, neyther will I answere him by your wordes.
וְ/לֹא עָרַ֣ךְ אֵלַ֣/י מִלִּ֑ין וּ֝/בְ/אִמְרֵי/כֶ֗ם לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶֽ/נּוּ
They were amased, they answered no more, they left off speaking.

חַ֭תּוּ לֹא עָ֣נוּ ע֑וֹד הֶעְתִּ֖יקוּ מֵ/הֶ֣ם מִלִּֽים
When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still and answered no more.)

וְ֭/הוֹחַלְתִּי כִּי לֹ֣א יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ כִּ֥י עָ֝מְד֗וּ לֹא עָ֥נוּ עֽוֹד
I sayd, I will answere also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

אַעֲנֶ֣ה אַף אֲנִ֣י חֶלְקִ֑/י אֲחַוֶּ֖ה דֵעִ֣/י אַף אָֽנִי
For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

כִּ֭י מָלֵ֣תִי מִלִּ֑ים הֱ֝צִיקַ֗תְ/נִי ר֣וּחַ בִּטְנִֽ/י
Behold, my belly is as wine, which hath no vent, it is ready to burst like new bottles.
Geneva 1599Beholde, my belly is as the wine, which hath no vent, and like the new bottels that brast.
הִנֵּֽה בִטְנִ֗/י כְּ/יַ֥יִן לֹא יִפָּתֵ֑חַ כְּ/אֹב֥וֹת חֲ֝דָשִׁ֗ים יִבָּקֵֽעַ
I will speake, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lippes, and answere.

אֲדַבְּרָ֥ה וְ/יִֽרְוַֽח לִ֑/י אֶפְתַּ֖ח שְׂפָתַ֣/י וְ/אֶֽעֱנֶֽה
Let me not, I pray you, accept any mans person: neither let me giue flattering titles vnto man.
Geneva 1599I will not now accept the person of man, neyther will I giue titles to man.
אַל נָ֭א אֶשָּׂ֣א פְנֵי אִ֑ישׁ וְ/אֶל אָ֝דָ֗ם לֹ֣א אֲכַנֶּֽה
For I know not to giue flattering titles: in so doing my maker would soone take me away.
Geneva 1599For I may not giue titles, lest my Maker should take me away suddenly.
כִּ֤י לֹ֣א יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֲכַנֶּ֑ה כִּ֝/מְעַ֗ט יִשָּׂאֵ֥/נִי עֹשֵֽׂ/נִי
