Chapter 17
Judges 17
And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
GenevaThere was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Michah,
וַֽ/יְהִי אִ֥ישׁ מֵֽ/הַר אֶפְרָ֖יִם וּ/שְׁמ֥/וֹ מִיכָֽיְהוּ
And he said vnto his mother, The eleuen hundred shekels of siluer, that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine eares, behold, the siluer is with mee, I tooke it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my sonne.
GenevaAnd he saide vnto his mother, The eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer that were taken from thee, for the which thou cursedst, and spakedst it, euen in mine hearing, beholde, the siluer is with me, I tooke it. Then his mother saide, Blessed be my sonne of the Lord.
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר לְ/אִמּ֡/וֹ אֶלֶף֩ וּ/מֵאָ֨ה הַ/כֶּ֜סֶף אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֻֽקַּֽח לָ֗/ךְ ו/אתי אָלִית֙ וְ/גַם֙ אָמַ֣רְתְּ בְּ/אָזְנַ֔/י הִנֵּֽה הַ/כֶּ֥סֶף אִתִּ֖/י אֲנִ֣י לְקַחְתִּ֑י/ו וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר אִמּ֔/וֹ בָּר֥וּךְ בְּנִ֖/י לַ/יהוָֽה
And when hee had restored the eleuen hundred shekels of siluer to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the siluer vnto the LORD, from my hand, for my sonne, to make a grauen image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it vnto thee.
GenevaAnd when he had restored the eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer to his mother, his mother sayd, I had dedicate the siluer to the Lord of mine hand for my sonne, to make a grauen and molten image. Now therfore I will giue it thee again.
וַ/יָּ֛שֶׁב אֶת אֶֽלֶף וּ/מֵאָ֥ה הַ/כֶּ֖סֶף לְ/אִמּ֑/וֹ וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר אִמּ֡/וֹ הַקְדֵּ֣שׁ הִקְדַּ֣שְׁתִּי אֶת הַ/כֶּסֶף֩ לַ/יהוָ֨ה מִ/יָּדִ֜/י לִ/בְנִ֗/י לַֽ/עֲשׂוֹת֙ פֶּ֣סֶל וּ/מַסֵּכָ֔ה וְ/עַתָּ֖ה אֲשִׁיבֶ֥/נּוּ לָֽ/ךְ
Yet hee restored the money vnto his mother, and his mother tooke two hundred shekels of siluer, and gaue them to the founder, who made thereof a grauen image and a molten image, and they were in the house of Micah.
GenevaAnd when he had restored the money vnto his mother, his mother tooke two hundreth shekels of siluer, and gaue them to the founder, which made thereof a grauen and molten image, and it was in the house of Michah.
וַ/יָּ֥שֶׁב אֶת הַ/כֶּ֖סֶף לְ/אִמּ֑/וֹ וַ/תִּקַּ֣ח אִמּ/וֹ֩ מָאתַ֨יִם כֶּ֜סֶף וַ/תִּתְּנֵ֣/הוּ לַ/צּוֹרֵ֗ף וַֽ/יַּעֲשֵׂ֨/הוּ֙ פֶּ֣סֶל וּ/מַסֵּכָ֔ה וַ/יְהִ֖י בְּ/בֵ֥ית מִיכָֽיְהוּ
And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an Ephod, and Teraphim, and consecrated one of his sonnes, who became his Priest.

וְ/הָ/אִ֣ישׁ מִיכָ֔ה ל֖/וֹ בֵּ֣ית אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַ/יַּ֤עַשׂ אֵפוֹד֙ וּ/תְרָפִ֔ים וַ/יְמַלֵּ֗א אֶת יַ֤ד אַחַד֙ מִ/בָּנָ֔י/ו וַ/יְהִי ל֖/וֹ לְ/כֹהֵֽן
In those dayes there was no king in Israel, but euery man did that which was right in his owne eyes.

בַּ/יָּמִ֣ים הָ/הֵ֔ם אֵ֥ין מֶ֖לֶךְ בְּ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִ֛ישׁ הַ/יָּשָׁ֥ר בְּ/עֵינָ֖י/ו יַעֲשֶֽׂה
¶ And there was a young man out of Bethlehem Iudah, of the family of Iudah, who was a Leuite, and he soiourned there.
GenevaThere was also a yong man out of Bethlehem Iudah, of the familie of Iudah: who was a Leuite, and soiourned there.
וַ/יְהִי נַ֗עַר מִ/בֵּ֥ית לֶ֨חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִ/מִּשְׁפַּ֖חַת יְהוּדָ֑ה וְ/ה֥וּא לֵוִ֖י וְ/ה֥וּא גָֽר שָֽׁם
And the man departed out of the citie from Bethlehem Iudah, to soiourne where he could finde a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he iourneyed.
GenevaAnd the man departed out of the citie, euen out of Beth-lehem Iudah, to dwell where he coulde finde a place: and as he iourneyed, he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Michah
וַ/יֵּ֨לֶךְ הָ/אִ֜ישׁ מֵ/הָ/עִ֗יר מִ/בֵּ֥ית לֶ֨חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה לָ/ג֖וּר בַּ/אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִמְצָ֑א וַ/יָּבֹ֧א הַר אֶפְרַ֛יִם עַד בֵּ֥ית מִיכָ֖ה לַ/עֲשׂ֥וֹת דַּרְכּֽ/וֹ
And Micah said vnto him, Whence commest thou? And he said vnto him, I am a Leuite, of Bethlehem Iudah, and I goe to soiourne where I may finde a place.
GenevaAnd Michah saide vnto him, Whence comest thou? And the Leuite answered him, I come from Beth-lehem Iudah, and goe to dwell where I may finde a place.
וַ/יֹּאמֶר ל֥/וֹ מִיכָ֖ה מֵ/אַ֣יִן תָּב֑וֹא וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜י/ו לֵוִ֣י אָנֹ֗כִי מִ/בֵּ֥ית לֶ֨חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה וְ/אָנֹכִ֣י הֹלֵ֔ךְ לָ/ג֖וּר בַּ/אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶמְצָֽא
And Micah said vnto him, Dwell with me, and be vnto me a father and a Priest, and I will giue thee ten shekels of siluer by the yeere, and a suite of apparell, and thy victuals. So the Leuite went in.
GenevaThen Michah said vnto him, Dwell with me, and be vnto me a father and a Priest, and I will giue thee ten shekels of siluer by yeere, and a sute of apparell, and thy meate and drinke. So the Leuite went in.
וַ/יֹּאמֶר֩ ל֨/וֹ מִיכָ֜ה שְׁבָ֣/ה עִמָּדִ֗/י וֶֽ/הְיֵה לִ/י֮ לְ/אָ֣ב וּ/לְ/כֹהֵן֒ וְ/אָנֹכִ֨י אֶֽתֶּן לְ/ךָ֜ עֲשֶׂ֤רֶת כֶּ֨סֶף֙ לַ/יָּמִ֔ים וְ/עֵ֥רֶךְ בְּגָדִ֖ים וּ/מִחְיָתֶ֑/ךָ וַ/יֵּ֖לֶךְ הַ/לֵּוִֽי
And the Leuite was content to dwell with the man, and the yong man was vnto him as one of his sonnes.
GenevaAnd the Leuite was content to dwel with the man, and the yong man was vnto him as one of his owne sonnes.
וַ/יּ֥וֹאֶל הַ/לֵּוִ֖י לָ/שֶׁ֣בֶת אֶת הָ/אִ֑ישׁ וַ/יְהִ֤י הַ/נַּ֨עַר֙ ל֔/וֹ כְּ/אַחַ֖ד מִ/בָּנָֽי/ו
And Micah consecrated the Leuite, and the young man became his Priest, and was in the house of Micah.
GenevaAnd Michah consecrated the Leuite, and the yong man was his Priest, and was in the house of Michah.
וַ/יְמַלֵּ֤א מִיכָה֙ אֶת יַ֣ד הַ/לֵּוִ֔י וַ/יְהִי ל֥/וֹ הַ/נַּ֖עַר לְ/כֹהֵ֑ן וַ/יְהִ֖י בְּ/בֵ֥ית מִיכָֽה
Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will doe me good, seeing I haue a Leuite to my Priest.
GenevaThen said Michah, Nowe I know that the Lord will be good vnto me, seeing I haue a Leuite to my Priest.
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר מִיכָ֔ה עַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּֽי יֵיטִ֥יב יְהוָ֖ה לִ֑/י כִּ֧י הָיָה לִ֛/י הַ/לֵּוִ֖י לְ/כֹהֵֽן
