Chapter 32
Jeremiah 32
The worde that came to Ieremiah from the LORD in the tenth yeere of Zedekiah king of Iudah, which was the eighteenth yeere of Nebuchad-rezzar.

הַ/דָּבָ֞ר אֲשֶׁר הָיָ֤ה אֶֽל יִרְמְיָ֨הוּ֙ מֵ/אֵ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה ב/שנת הָ/עֲשִׂרִ֔ית לְ/צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה הִ֧יא הַ/שָּׁנָ֛ה שְׁמֹנֶֽה עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה שָׁנָ֖ה לִ/נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּֽר
For then the king of Babylons armie besieged Ierusalem: and Ieremiah the prophet was shut vp in the court of the prison which was in the king of Iudahs house.

וְ/אָ֗ז חֵ֚יל מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל צָרִ֖ים עַל יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְ/יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַ/נָּבִ֗יא הָיָ֤ה כָלוּא֙ בַּ/חֲצַ֣ר הַ/מַּטָּרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בֵּֽית מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה
For Zedekiah king of Iudah had shut him vp, saying, Wherefore doest thou prophecie and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will giue this citie into the hand of the king of Babylon, and hee shall take it?

אֲשֶׁ֣ר כְּלָא֔/וֹ צִדְקִיָּ֥הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ יְהוּדָ֖ה לֵ/אמֹ֑ר מַדּוּעַ֩ אַתָּ֨ה נִבָּ֜א לֵ/אמֹ֗ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְ/נִ֨י נֹתֵ֜ן אֶת הָ/עִ֥יר הַ/זֹּ֛את בְּ/יַ֥ד מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל וּ/לְכָדָֽ/הּ
And Zedekiah king of Iudah, shal not escape out of the hand of the Caldeans, but shall surely be deliuered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shal speake with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes.
GenevaAnd Zedekiah the King of Iudah shall not escape out of the hande of the Caldeans, but shall surely be deliuered into the handes of the King of Babel, and shall speake with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall beholde his face,
וְ/צִדְקִיָּ֨הוּ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה לֹ֥א יִמָּלֵ֖ט מִ/יַּ֣ד הַ/כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כִּ֣י הִנָּתֹ֤ן יִנָּתֵן֙ בְּ/יַ֣ד מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וְ/דִבֶּר פִּ֣י/ו עִם פִּ֔י/ו וְ/עֵינָ֖י/ו אֶת עינ/ו תִּרְאֶֽינָה
And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be vntill I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Caldeans, yee shall not prosper.
GenevaAnd he shall lead Zedekiah to Babel, and there shall he be, vntil I visit him, saith ye Lord: though ye fight with the Caldeans, ye shall not prosper.
וּ/בָבֶ֞ל יוֹלִ֤ךְ אֶת צִדְקִיָּ֨הוּ֙ וְ/שָׁ֣ם יִֽהְיֶ֔ה עַד פָּקְדִ֥/י אֹת֖/וֹ נְאֻם יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֧י תִֽלָּחֲמ֛וּ אֶת הַ/כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים לֹ֥א תַצְלִֽיחוּ
¶ And Ieremiah said; The word of the LORD came vnto me, saying;
GenevaAnd Ieremiah said, The word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ הָיָ֥ה דְּבַר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥/י לֵ/אמֹֽר
Behold, Hanameel the sonne of Shallum thine vncle, shall come vnto thee, saying; Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.
GenevaBeholde, Hanameel, the sonne of Shallum thine vncle, shall come vnto thee and say, Bye vnto thee my fielde, that is in Anathoth: for the title by kindred appertaineth vnto thee to bye it.
הִנֵּ֣ה חֲנַמְאֵ֗ל בֶּן שַׁלֻּם֙ דֹּֽדְ/ךָ֔ בָּ֥א אֵלֶ֖י/ךָ לֵ/אמֹ֑ר קְנֵ֣ה לְ/ךָ֗ אֶת שָׂדִ/י֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּ/עֲנָת֔וֹת כִּ֥י לְ/ךָ֛ מִשְׁפַּ֥ט הַ/גְּאֻלָּ֖ה לִ/קְנֽוֹת
So Hanameel mine vncles sonne came to me in the court of the prison, according to the word of the LORD, and said vnto me; Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the countrey of Beniamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine, buy it for thy selfe. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.
GenevaSo Hanameel, mine vncles sonne, came to mee in the court of the prison, according to the word of the Lord, and said vnto me, Bye my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the countrey of Beniamin: for the right of the possession is thine, and the purchase belongeth vnto thee: bye it for thee. Then I knewe that this was the worde of the Lord.
וַ/יָּבֹ֣א אֵ֠לַ/י חֲנַמְאֵ֨ל בֶּן דֹּדִ֜/י כִּ/דְבַ֣ר יְהוָה֮ אֶל חֲצַ֣ר הַ/מַּטָּרָה֒ וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֡/י קְנֵ֣ה נָ֠א אֶת שָׂדִ֨/י אֲשֶׁר בַּ/עֲנָת֜וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ בִּנְיָמִ֗ין כִּֽי לְ/ךָ֞ מִשְׁפַּ֧ט הַ/יְרֻשָּׁ֛ה וּ/לְ/ךָ֥ הַ/גְּאֻלָּ֖ה קְנֵה לָ֑/ךְ וָ/אֵדַ֕ע כִּ֥י דְבַר יְהוָ֖ה הֽוּא
And I bought the field of Hanameel my vncles sonne, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, euen seuenteene shekels of siluer.
GenevaAnd I bought the field of Hanameel, mine vncles sonne, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the siluer, euen seuen shekels, and tenne pieces of siluer.
וָֽ/אֶקְנֶה֙ אֶת הַ/שָּׂדֶ֔ה מֵ/אֵ֛ת חֲנַמְאֵ֥ל בֶּן דֹּדִ֖/י אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּ/עֲנָת֑וֹת וָֽ/אֶשְׁקֲלָ/ה לּ/וֹ֙ אֶת הַ/כֶּ֔סֶף שִׁבְעָ֥ה שְׁקָלִ֖ים וַ/עֲשָׂרָ֥ה הַ/כָּֽסֶף
And I subscribed the euidence, and sealed it, and tooke witnesses, and weighed him the money in the ballances.
GenevaAnd I writ it in the booke and signed it, and tooke witnesses, and weighed him the siluer in the balances.
וָ/אֶכְתֹּ֤ב בַּ/סֵּ֨פֶר֙ וָֽ/אֶחְתֹּ֔ם וָ/אָעֵ֖ד עֵדִ֑ים וָ/אֶשְׁקֹ֥ל הַ/כֶּ֖סֶף בְּ/מֹאזְנָֽיִם
So I tooke the euidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custome, and that which was open.
GenevaSo I tooke the booke of the possession, being sealed according to the Lawe, and custome, with the booke that was open,
וָ/אֶקַּ֖ח אֶת סֵ֣פֶר הַ/מִּקְנָ֑ה אֶת הֶֽ/חָת֛וּם הַ/מִּצְוָ֥ה וְ/הַ/חֻקִּ֖ים וְ/אֶת הַ/גָּלֽוּי
And I gaue the euidence of the purchase vnto Baruch the sonne of Neriah, the sonne of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine vncles sonne, and in the presence of the witnesses, that subscribed the booke of the purchase, before all the Iewes that sate in the court of the prison.

וָ/אֶתֵּ֞ן אֶת הַ/סֵּ֣פֶר הַ/מִּקְנָ֗ה אֶל בָּר֣וּךְ בֶּן נֵרִיָּה֮ בֶּן מַחְסֵיָה֒ לְ/עֵינֵי֙ חֲנַמְאֵ֣ל דֹּדִ֔/י וּ/לְ/עֵינֵי֙ הָֽ/עֵדִ֔ים הַ/כֹּתְבִ֖ים בְּ/סֵ֣פֶר הַ/מִּקְנָ֑ה לְ/עֵינֵי֙ כָּל הַ/יְּהוּדִ֔ים הַ/יֹּשְׁבִ֖ים בַּ/חֲצַ֥ר הַ/מַּטָּרָֽה
¶ And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

וָֽ/אֲצַוֶּה֙ אֶת בָּר֔וּךְ לְ/עֵינֵי/הֶ֖ם לֵ/אמֹֽר
Thus saith the LORD of hosts the God of Israel; Take these euidences, this euidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this euidence which is open, and put them in an earthen vessell, that they may continue many daies.
GenevaThus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Take the writings, euen this booke of the possession, both that is sealed, and this booke that is open, and put them in an earthen vessell, that they may continue a long time.
כֹּֽה אָמַר֩ יְהוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לָק֣וֹחַ אֶת הַ/סְּפָרִ֣ים הָ/אֵ֡לֶּה אֵ֣ת סֵפֶר֩ הַ/מִּקְנָ֨ה הַ/זֶּ֜ה וְ/אֵ֣ת הֶ/חָת֗וּם וְ/אֵ֨ת סֵ֤פֶר הַ/גָּלוּי֙ הַ/זֶּ֔ה וּ/נְתַתָּ֖/ם בִּ/כְלִי חָ֑רֶשׂ לְמַ֥עַן יַעַמְד֖וּ יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים
For thus saith the LORD of hostes the God of Israel; Houses and fields, and Uineyards shalbe possessed againe in this land.
GenevaFor the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel saith thus, Houses and fieldes, and vineyardes shall be possessed againe in this land.
כִּ֣י כֹ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל ע֣וֹד יִקָּנ֥וּ בָתִּ֛ים וְ/שָׂד֥וֹת וּ/כְרָמִ֖ים בָּ/אָ֥רֶץ הַ/זֹּֽאת
¶ Now when I had deliuered the euidence of the purchase vnto Baruch the sonne of Neriah, I prayed vnto the LORD, saying,
GenevaNow when I had deliuered the booke of the possession vnto Baruch, the sonne of Neriah, I prayed vnto the Lord, saying,
וָ/אֶתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל יְהוָ֑ה אַחֲרֵ֤י תִתִּ/י֙ אֶת סֵ֣פֶר הַ/מִּקְנָ֔ה אֶל בָּר֥וּךְ בֶּן נֵרִיָּ֖ה לֵ/אמֹֽר
Ah Lord GOD, beholde, thou hast made the heauen and the earth by thy great power & stretched out arme, and there is nothing too hard for thee.
GenevaAh Lord God, beholde, thou hast made the heauen and the earth by thy great power, and by thy stretched out arme, and there is nothing hard vnto thee.
אֲהָהּ֮ אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִה֒ הִנֵּ֣ה אַתָּ֣ה עָשִׂ֗יתָ אֶת הַ/שָּׁמַ֨יִם֙ וְ/אֶת הָ/אָ֔רֶץ בְּ/כֹֽחֲ/ךָ֙ הַ/גָּד֔וֹל וּ/בִֽ/זְרֹעֲ/ךָ֖ הַ/נְּטוּיָ֑ה לֹֽא יִפָּלֵ֥א מִמְּ/ךָ֖ כָּל דָּבָֽר
Thou shewest louing kindnesse vnto thousands, and recompensest the iniquitie of the fathers into the bosome of their children after them: the great, the mightie God, the LORD of hosts is his Name,
GenevaThou shewest mercie vnto thousands, and recompensest the iniquitie of the fathers into the bosome of their children after them: O God the great and mightie, whose Name is ye Lord of hostes,
עֹ֤שֶׂה חֶ֨סֶד֙ לַֽ/אֲלָפִ֔ים וּ/מְשַׁלֵּם֙ עֲוֺ֣ן אָב֔וֹת אֶל חֵ֥יק בְּנֵי/הֶ֖ם אַחֲרֵי/הֶ֑ם הָ/אֵ֤ל הַ/גָּדוֹל֙ הַ/גִּבּ֔וֹר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽ/וֹ
Great in counsell, and mightie in worke, (for thine eyes are open vpon all the wayes of the sonnes of men, to giue euery one according to his wayes, and according to the fruit of his doings)

גְּדֹל֙ הָֽ/עֵצָ֔ה וְ/רַ֖ב הָ/עֲלִֽילִיָּ֑ה אֲשֶׁר עֵינֶ֣י/ךָ פְקֻח֗וֹת עַל כָּל דַּרְכֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם לָ/תֵ֤ת לְ/אִישׁ֙ כִּ/דְרָכָ֔י/ו וְ/כִ/פְרִ֖י מַעֲלָלָֽי/ו
Which hast set signes and wonders in the land of Egypt, euen vnto this day, and in Israel, and amongst other men, and hast made thee a Name, as at this day,

אֲשֶׁר שַׂ֠מְתָּ אֹת֨וֹת וּ/מֹפְתִ֤ים בְּ/אֶֽרֶץ מִצְרַ֨יִם֙ עַד הַ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/זֶּ֔ה וּ/בְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וּ/בָֽ/אָדָ֑ם וַ/תַּעֲשֶׂה לְּ/ךָ֥ שֵׁ֖ם כַּ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/זֶּֽה
And hast brought foorth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt, with signes and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arme, and with great terrour,

וַ/תֹּצֵ֛א אֶת עַמְּ/ךָ֥ אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵ/אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם בְּ/אֹת֣וֹת וּ/בְ/מוֹפְתִ֗ים וּ/בְ/יָ֤ד חֲזָקָה֙ וּ/בְ/אֶזְר֣וֹעַ נְטוּיָ֔ה וּ/בְ/מוֹרָ֖א גָּדֽוֹל
And hast giuen them this land which thou didst sweare to their fathers to giue them a land flowing with milke and honie.

וַ/תִּתֵּ֤ן לָ/הֶם֙ אֶת הָ/אָ֣רֶץ הַ/זֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתָּ לַ/אֲבוֹתָ֖/ם לָ/תֵ֣ת לָ/הֶ֑ם אֶ֛רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּ/דְבָֽשׁ
And they came in and possessed it, but they obeied not thy voice, neither walked in thy Law, they haue done nothing of all that thou commaundedst them to doe: therefore thou hast caused all this euill to come vpon them.

וַ/יָּבֹ֜אוּ וַ/יִּֽרְשׁ֣וּ אֹתָ֗/הּ וְ/לֹֽא שָׁמְע֤וּ בְ/קוֹלֶ֨/ךָ֙ ו/ב/תרות/ך לֹא הָלָ֔כוּ אֵת֩ כָּל אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוִּ֧יתָה לָ/הֶ֛ם לַ/עֲשׂ֖וֹת לֹ֣א עָשׂ֑וּ וַ/תַּקְרֵ֣א אֹתָ֔/ם אֵ֥ת כָּל הָ/רָעָ֖ה הַ/זֹּֽאת
Beholde the mounts, they are come vnto the citie to take it, and the citie is giuen into the hand of the Caldeans that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence, and what thou hast spoken is come to passe, and behold, thou seest it.

הִנֵּ֣ה הַ/סֹּלְל֗וֹת בָּ֣אוּ הָ/עִיר֮ לְ/לָכְדָ/הּ֒ וְ/הָ/עִ֣יר נִתְּנָ֗ה בְּ/יַ֤ד הַ/כַּשְׂדִּים֙ הַ/נִּלְחָמִ֣ים עָלֶ֔י/הָ מִ/פְּנֵ֛י הַ/חֶ֥רֶב וְ/הָ/רָעָ֖ב וְ/הַ/דָּ֑בֶר וַ/אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֛רְתָּ הָיָ֖ה וְ/הִנְּ/ךָ֥ רֹאֶֽה
And thou hast said vnto mee, O Lord GOD, buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses: for the citie is giuen into the hand of the Caldeans.
GenevaAnd thou hast sayd vnto me, O Lord God, Bye vnto thee the fielde for siluer, and take witnesses: for the citie shall be giuen into the hand of the Caldeans.
וְ/אַתָּ֞ה אָמַ֤רְתָּ אֵלַ/י֙ אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֔ה קְנֵֽה לְ/ךָ֧ הַ/שָּׂדֶ֛ה בַּ/כֶּ֖סֶף וְ/הָעֵ֣ד עֵדִ֑ים וְ/הָ/עִ֥יר נִתְּנָ֖ה בְּ/יַ֥ד הַ/כַּשְׂדִּֽים
¶ Then came the word of the LORD vnto Ieremiah, saying,
GenevaThen came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
וַ/יְהִי֙ דְּבַר יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽל יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ לֵ/אמֹֽר
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: Is there any thing too hard for me?
GenevaBeholde, I am the LORD GOD of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
הִנֵּה֙ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה אֱלֹהֵ֖י כָּל בָּשָׂ֑ר הֲֽ/מִמֶּ֔/נִּי יִפָּלֵ֖א כָּל דָּבָֽר
Therfore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will giue this citie into the hand of the Caldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchad-rezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it.
GenevaTherefore thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I wil giue this citie into the hand of the Caldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar, King of Babel, and he shall take it.
לָ/כֵ֕ן כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה הִנְ/נִ֣י נֹתֵן֩ אֶת הָ/עִ֨יר הַ/זֹּ֜את בְּ/יַ֣ד הַ/כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים וּ/בְ/יַ֛ד נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל וּ/לְכָדָֽ/הּ
And the Caldeans that fight against this citie, shall come and set fire on this citie, and burne it with the houses vpon whose roofes they haue offered incense vnto Baal, and powred out drinke offerings vnto other Gods to prouoke me to anger.
GenevaAnd the Caldeans shall come and fight against this citie, and set fire on this citie and burne it, with the houses, vpon whose rouses they haue offred incense vnto Baal, and powred drinke offrings vnto other gods, to prouoke me vnto anger.
וּ/בָ֣אוּ הַ/כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים הַ/נִּלְחָמִים֙ עַל הָ/עִ֣יר הַ/זֹּ֔את וְ/הִצִּ֜יתוּ אֶת הָ/עִ֥יר הַ/זֹּ֛את בָּ/אֵ֖שׁ וּ/שְׂרָפ֑וּ/הָ וְ/אֵ֣ת הַ/בָּתִּ֡ים אֲשֶׁר֩ קִטְּר֨וּ עַל גַּגּֽוֹתֵי/הֶ֜ם לַ/בַּ֗עַל וְ/הִסִּ֤כוּ נְסָכִים֙ לֵ/אלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְמַ֖עַן הַכְעִסֵֽ/נִי
For the children of Israel, and the children of Iudah, haue onely done euill before me from their youth: for the children of Israel haue onely prouoked mee to anger with the worke of their hands, sayth the LORD.
GenevaFor the children of Israel, and the children of Iudah haue surely done euill before me from their youth: for the children of Israel haue surely prouoked me to anger with the workes of their hands, saith the Lord.
כִּֽי הָי֨וּ בְנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל וּ/בְנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה אַ֣ךְ עֹשִׂ֥ים הָ/רַ֛ע בְּ/עֵינַ֖/י מִ/נְּעֻרֹֽתֵי/הֶ֑ם כִּ֣י בְנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אַ֣ךְ מַכְעִסִ֥ים אֹתִ֛/י בְּ/מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵי/הֶ֖ם נְאֻם יְהוָֽה
For this citie hath beene to me, as a prouocation of mine anger, and of my furie, from the day that they built it, euen vnto this day; that I should remooue it from before my face:
GenevaTherefore this citie hath bene vnto me as a prouocation of mine anger, and of my wrath, from the day, that they built it, euen vnto this day, that I should remoue it out of my sight,
כִּ֧י עַל אַפִּ֣/י וְ/עַל חֲמָתִ֗/י הָ֤יְתָה לִּ/י֙ הָ/עִ֣יר הַ/זֹּ֔את לְ/מִן הַ/יּוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנ֣וּ אוֹתָ֔/הּ וְ/עַ֖ד הַ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/זֶּ֑ה לַ/הֲסִירָ֖/הּ מֵ/עַ֥ל פָּנָֽ/י
Because of all the euill of the children of Israel, and of the children of Iudah, which they haue done to prouoke mee to anger, they, their kings, their Princes, their Priestes, and their Prophets, and the men of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem.

And they haue turned vnto mee the backe, and not the face, though I taught them rising vp early, and teaching them, yet they haue not hearkened to receiue instruction,

But they set their abominations in the house (which is called by my Name) to defile it.

And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the sonne of Hinnom, to cause their sonnes and their daughters to passe through the fire vnto Molech, which I commanded them not, neither came it into my minde, that they should doe this abomination, to cause Iudah to sinne.

וַ/יִּבְנוּ֩ אֶת בָּמ֨וֹת הַ/בַּ֜עַל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ/גֵ֣יא בֶן הִנֹּ֗ם לְ֠/הַעֲבִיר אֶת בְּנֵי/הֶ֣ם וְ/אֶת בְּנוֹתֵי/הֶם֮ לַ/מֹּלֶךְ֒ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא צִוִּיתִ֗י/ם וְ/לֹ֤א עָֽלְתָה֙ עַל לִבִּ֔/י לַ/עֲשׂ֖וֹת הַ/תּוֹעֵבָ֣ה הַ/זֹּ֑את לְמַ֖עַן החטי אֶת יְהוּדָֽה
¶ And now therefore, thus sayth the LORD the God of Israel concerning this citie, whereof ye say, It shall be deliuered into the hand of the king of Babylon, by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence:

Behold, I wil gather them out of all countreys, whither I haue driuen them in mine anger, and in my furie, and in great wrath, and I will bring them againe vnto this place; and I will cause them to dwell safely.

And they shalbe my people, and I will be their God.
GenevaAnd they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
וְ/הָ֥יוּ לִ֖/י לְ/עָ֑ם וַ/אֲנִ֕י אֶהְיֶ֥ה לָ/הֶ֖ם לֵ/אלֹהִֽים
And I will giue them one heart, and one way, that they may feare mee for euer, for the good of them, and of their children after them.

וְ/נָתַתִּ֨י לָ/הֶ֜ם לֵ֤ב אֶחָד֙ וְ/דֶ֣רֶךְ אֶחָ֔ד לְ/יִרְאָ֥ה אוֹתִ֖/י כָּל הַ/יָּמִ֑ים לְ/ט֣וֹב לָ/הֶ֔ם וְ/לִ/בְנֵי/הֶ֖ם אַחֲרֵי/הֶֽם
And I will make an euerlasting couenant with them, that I will not turne away from them, to doe them good, but I will put my feare in their hearts, that they shall not depart from mee.

וְ/כָרַתִּ֤י לָ/הֶם֙ בְּרִ֣ית עוֹלָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא אָשׁוּב֙ מֵ/אַ֣חֲרֵי/הֶ֔ם לְ/הֵיטִיבִ֖/י אוֹתָ֑/ם וְ/אֶת יִרְאָתִ/י֙ אֶתֵּ֣ן בִּ/לְבָבָ֔/ם לְ/בִלְתִּ֖י ס֥וּר מֵ/עָלָֽ/י
Yea, I will reioyce oner them to doe them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly, with my whole heart, and with my whole soule.

וְ/שַׂשְׂתִּ֥י עֲלֵי/הֶ֖ם לְ/הֵטִ֣יב אוֹתָ֑/ם וּ/נְטַעְתִּ֞י/ם בָּ/אָ֤רֶץ הַ/זֹּאת֙ בֶּ/אֱמֶ֔ת בְּ/כָל לִבִּ֖/י וּ/בְ/כָל נַפְשִֽׁ/י
For thus sayth the LORD, Like as I haue brought all this great euill vpon this people, so will I bring vpon them all the good that I haue promised them.

כִּֽי כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֤ר הֵבֵ֨אתִי֙ אֶל הָ/עָ֣ם הַ/זֶּ֔ה אֵ֛ת כָּל הָ/רָעָ֥ה הַ/גְּדוֹלָ֖ה הַ/זֹּ֑את כֵּ֣ן אָנֹכִ֞י מֵבִ֤יא עֲלֵי/הֶם֙ אֶת כָּל הַ/טּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י דֹּבֵ֥ר עֲלֵי/הֶֽם
And fields shalbe bought in this land whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast, it is giuen into the hand of the Caldeans.

וְ/נִקְנָ֥ה הַ/שָּׂדֶ֖ה בָּ/אָ֣רֶץ הַ/זֹּ֑את אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתֶּ֣ם אֹמְרִ֗ים שְׁמָמָ֥ה הִיא֙ מֵ/אֵ֤ין אָדָם֙ וּ/בְהֵמָ֔ה נִתְּנָ֖ה בְּ/יַ֥ד הַ/כַּשְׂדִּֽים
Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe euidences, and seale them, and take witnesses in the land of Beniamin, and in the places about Ierusalem, and in the cities of Iudah, and in the cities of the mountaines, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the South: for I will cause their captiuitie to returne, saith the LORD.

שָׂד֞וֹת בַּ/כֶּ֣סֶף יִקְנ֗וּ וְ/כָת֨וֹב בַּ/סֵּ֥פֶר וְ/חָתוֹם֮ וְ/הָעֵ֣ד עֵדִים֒ בְּ/אֶ֨רֶץ בִּנְיָמִ֜ן וּ/בִ/סְבִיבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם וּ/בְ/עָרֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ וּ/בְ/עָרֵ֣י הָ/הָ֔ר וּ/בְ/עָרֵ֥י הַ/שְּׁפֵלָ֖ה וּ/בְ/עָרֵ֣י הַ/נֶּ֑גֶב כִּֽי אָשִׁ֥יב אֶת שְׁבוּתָ֖/ם נְאֻם יְהוָֽה
