Proverbs 19
Better is the poore that walketh in his integrity, then he that is peruerse in his lippes, and is a foole.

טֽוֹב רָ֭שׁ הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בְּ/תֻמּ֑/וֹ מֵ/עִקֵּ֥שׁ שְׂ֝פָתָ֗י/ו וְ/ה֣וּא כְסִֽיל
Also, that the soule be without knowledge, it is not good, and hee that hasteth with his feete, sinneth.

גַּ֤ם בְּ/לֹא דַ֣עַת נֶ֣פֶשׁ לֹא ט֑וֹב וְ/אָ֖ץ בְּ/רַגְלַ֣יִם חוֹטֵֽא
The foolishnesse of man peruerteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

אִוֶּ֣לֶת אָ֭דָם תְּסַלֵּ֣ף דַּרְכּ֑/וֹ וְ/עַל יְ֝הוָ֗ה יִזְעַ֥ף לִבּֽ/וֹ
Wealth maketh many friends: but the poore is separated from his neighbour.

ה֗וֹן יֹ֭סִיף רֵעִ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים וְ֝/דָ֗ל מֵרֵ֥ע/הוּ יִפָּרֵֽד
A false witnesse shall not be vnpunished: and he that speaketh lyes, shal not escape.

עֵ֣ד שְׁ֭קָרִים לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶ֑ה וְ/יָפִ֥יחַ כְּ֝זָבִ֗ים לֹ֣א יִמָּלֵֽט
Many will entreate the fauour of the Prince: and euery man is a friend to him that giueth gifts.

רַ֭בִּים יְחַלּ֣וּ פְנֵֽי נָדִ֑יב וְ/כָל הָ֝/רֵ֗עַ לְ/אִ֣ישׁ מַתָּֽן
All the brethren of the poore doe hate him: howe much more doe his friends goe farre from him? Hee pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

כָּ֥ל אֲחֵי רָ֨שׁ שְֽׂנֵאֻ֗/הוּ אַ֤ף כִּ֣י מְ֭רֵעֵ/הוּ רָחֲק֣וּ מִמֶּ֑/נּוּ מְרַדֵּ֖ף אֲמָרִ֣ים לא הֵֽמָּה
He that getteth wisedome loueth his owne soule: he that keepeth vnderstanding shall find good.
GenevaHe that possesseth vnderstanding, loueth his owne soule, and keepeth wisdome to finde goodnesse.
קֹֽנֶה לֵּ֭ב אֹהֵ֣ב נַפְשׁ֑/וֹ שֹׁמֵ֥ר תְּ֝בוּנָ֗ה לִ/מְצֹא טֽוֹב

The discretion of a man deferreth his anger: and it is his glory to passe ouer a transgression.

שֵׂ֣כֶל אָ֭דָם הֶאֱרִ֣יךְ אַפּ֑/וֹ וְ֝/תִפאַרְתּ֗/וֹ עֲבֹ֣ר עַל פָּֽשַׁע
The kings wrath is as the roaring of a lyon: but his fauour is as dewe vpon the grasse.

נַ֣הַם כַּ֭/כְּפִיר זַ֣עַף מֶ֑לֶךְ וּ/כְ/טַ֖ל עַל עֵ֣שֶׂב רְצוֹנֽ/וֹ
A foolish sonne is the calamity of his father; and the contentions of a wife are a continuall dropping.

הַוֺּ֣ת לְ֭/אָבִי/ו בֵּ֣ן כְּסִ֑יל וְ/דֶ֥לֶף טֹ֝רֵ֗ד מִדְיְנֵ֥י אִשָּֽׁה
House and riches, are the inheritance of fathers; and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
GenevaHouse and riches are the inheritance of the fathers: but a prudent wife commeth of the Lord.
בַּ֣יִת וָ֭/הוֹן נַחֲלַ֣ת אָב֑וֹת וּ֝/מֵ/יְהוָ֗ה אִשָּׁ֥ה מַשְׂכָּֽלֶת
Slouthfulnesse casteth into a deep sleepe: and an idle soule shall suffer hunger.
GenevaSlouthfulnes causeth to fall asleepe, and a deceitfull person shall be affamished.
עַ֭צְלָה תַּפִּ֣יל תַּרְדֵּמָ֑ה וְ/נֶ֖פֶשׁ רְמִיָּ֣ה תִרְעָֽב
He that keepeth the commandement, keepeth his owne soule: but hee that despiseth his wayes, shall die.

שֹׁמֵ֣ר מִ֭צְוָה שֹׁמֵ֣ר נַפְשׁ֑/וֹ בּוֹזֵ֖ה דְרָכָ֣י/ו יומת
Hee that hath pity vpon the poore, lendeth vnto the LORD; and that which he hath giuen, will he pay him againe.

מַלְוֵ֣ה יְ֭הוָה ח֣וֹנֵֽן דָּ֑ל וּ֝/גְמֻל֗/וֹ יְשַׁלֶּם לֽ/וֹ
Chasten thy sonne while there is hope; and let not thy soule spare for his crying.

יַסֵּ֣ר בִּ֭נְ/ךָ כִּי יֵ֣שׁ תִּקְוָ֑ה וְ/אֶל הֲ֝מִית֗/וֹ אַל תִּשָּׂ֥א נַפְשֶֽׁ/ךָ
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliuer him, yet thou must doe it againe.

גרל חֵ֭מָה נֹ֣שֵׂא עֹ֑נֶשׁ כִּ֥י אִם תַּ֝צִּ֗יל וְ/ע֣וֹד תּוֹסִֽף
Heare counsell, and receiue instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

There are many deuices in a mans heart: neuerthelesse the counsell of the LORD, that shall stand.

רַבּ֣וֹת מַחֲשָׁב֣וֹת בְּ/לֶב אִ֑ישׁ וַ/עֲצַ֥ת יְ֝הוָ֗ה הִ֣יא תָקֽוּם
The desire of a man is his kindnesse: and a poore man is better then a lyar.
GenevaThat that is to be desired of a man, is his goodnes, and a poore man is better then a lyer.
תַּאֲוַ֣ת אָדָ֣ם חַסְדּ֑/וֹ וְ/טֽוֹב רָ֝שׁ מֵ/אִ֥ישׁ כָּזָֽב
The feare of the LORD tendeth to life, and he that hath it shall abide satisfied: he shall not be visited with euill.
GenevaThe feare of the Lord leadeth to life: and he that is filled therewith, shall continue, and shall not be visited with euill.
יִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֣ה לְ/חַיִּ֑ים וְ/שָׂבֵ֥עַ יָ֝לִ֗ין בַּל יִפָּ֥קֶד רָֽע
A slouthfull man hideth his hand in his bosome, and wil not so much as bring it to his mouth againe.

טָ֘מַ֤ן עָצֵ֣ל יָ֭ד/וֹ בַּ/צַּלָּ֑חַת גַּם אֶל פִּ֝֗י/הוּ לֹ֣א יְשִׁיבֶֽ/נָּה
Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware; and reprooue one that hath vnderstanding, and he will vnderstand knowledge.

לֵ֣ץ תַּ֭כֶּה וּ/פֶ֣תִי יַעְרִ֑ם וְ/הוֹכִ֥יחַ לְ֝/נָב֗וֹן יָבִ֥ין דָּֽעַת
He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a sonne that causeth shame, and bringeth reproch.

מְֽשַׁדֶּד אָ֭ב יַבְרִ֣יחַ אֵ֑ם בֵּ֝֗ן מֵבִ֥ישׁ וּ/מַחְפִּֽיר
Cease, my sonne, to heare the instruction, that causeth to erre from the words of knowledge.

חַֽדַל בְּ֭נִ/י לִ/שְׁמֹ֣עַ מוּסָ֑ר לִ֝/שְׁג֗וֹת מֵֽ/אִמְרֵי דָֽעַת
An vngodly witnesse scorneth iudgement: and the mouth of the wicked deuoureth iniquitie.
GenevaA wicked witnes mocketh at iudgement, and the mouth of ye wicked swalloweth vp iniquitie.
עֵ֣ד בְּ֭לִיַּעַל יָלִ֣יץ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וּ/פִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יְבַלַּע אָֽוֶן
Iudgements are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the backe of fooles.
