Psalms 102
A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.

Heare my prayer, O LORD: and let my crie come vnto thee.
GenevaA prayer of the afflicted, when he shall be in distresse, and pour forth his meditation before the Lord. O Lord, heare my prayer, and let my crye come vnto thee.
תְּ֭פִלָּה לְ/עָנִ֣י כִֽי יַעֲטֹ֑ף וְ/לִ/פְנֵ֥י יְ֝הוָ֗ה יִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ שִׂיחֽ/וֹ
Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble, incline thine eare vnto me: in the day when I call, answere mee speedily.
GenevaHide not thy face from me in the time of my trouble: incline thine eares vnto me: when I call, make haste to heare me.
יְ֭הוָה שִׁמְעָ֣/ה תְפִלָּתִ֑/י וְ֝/שַׁוְעָתִ֗/י אֵלֶ֥י/ךָ תָבֽוֹא
For my dayes are consumed like smoke: and my bones are burnt as an hearth.

אַל תַּסְתֵּ֬ר פָּנֶ֨י/ךָ מִמֶּ/נִּי֮ בְּ/י֪וֹם צַ֫ר לִ֥/י הַטֵּֽה אֵלַ֥/י אָזְנֶ֑/ךָ בְּ/י֥וֹם אֶ֝קְרָ֗א מַהֵ֥ר עֲנֵֽ/נִי
My heart is smitten, and withered like grasse: so that I forget to eate my bread.

כִּֽי כָל֣וּ בְ/עָשָׁ֣ן יָמָ֑/י וְ֝/עַצְמוֹתַ֗/י כְּ/מוֹ קֵ֥ד נִחָֽרוּ
By reason of the voice of my groning, my bones cleaue to my skinne.

I am like a Pelican of the wildernes: I am like an owle of the desert.

Mine enemies reproch me all the day: and they that are mad against me, are sworne against me.

שָׁקַ֥דְתִּי וָ/אֶֽהְיֶ֑ה כְּ֝/צִפּ֗וֹר בּוֹדֵ֥ד עַל גָּֽג
For I haue eaten ashes like bread: and mingled my drinke with weeping.
GenevaSurely I haue eaten asshes as bread, and mingled my drinke with weeping,
כָּל הַ֭/יּוֹם חֵרְפ֣וּ/נִי אוֹיְבָ֑/י מְ֝הוֹלָלַ֗/י בִּ֣/י נִשְׁבָּֽעוּ
Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me vp, and cast me downe.

כִּי אֵ֭פֶר כַּ/לֶּ֣חֶם אָכָ֑לְתִּי וְ֝/שִׁקֻּוַ֗/י בִּ/בְכִ֥י מָסָֽכְתִּי
My dayes are like a shadow, that declineth: & I am withered like grasse.

מִ/פְּנֵֽי זַֽעַמְ/ךָ֥ וְ/קִצְפֶּ֑/ךָ כִּ֥י נְ֝שָׂאתַ֗/נִי וַ/תַּשְׁלִיכֵֽ/נִי
But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for euer: and thy remembrance vnto all generations.
GenevaBut thou, O Lord, doest remaine for euer, and thy remembrance from generation to generation.
יָ֭מַ/י כְּ/צֵ֣ל נָט֑וּי וַ֝/אֲנִ֗י כָּ/עֵ֥שֶׂב אִיבָֽשׁ
Thou shalt arise, and haue mercie vpon Zion: for the time to fauour her, yea the set time is come.
GenevaThou wilt arise and haue mercy vpon Zion: for the time to haue mercie thereon, for the appointed time is come.
וְ/אַתָּ֣ה יְ֭הוָה לְ/עוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֑ב וְ֝/זִכְרְ/ךָ֗ לְ/דֹ֣ר וָ/דֹֽר
For thy seruants take pleasure in her stones: and fauour the dust therof.
GenevaFor thy seruants delite in the stones thereof, and haue pitie on the dust thereof.
אַתָּ֣ה תָ֭קוּם תְּרַחֵ֣ם צִיּ֑וֹן כִּי עֵ֥ת לְ֝/חֶֽנְנָ֗/הּ כִּי בָ֥א מוֹעֵֽד
So the heathen shall feare the Name of the LORD: and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
GenevaThen the heathen shall feare the Name of the Lord, and all the Kings of the earth thy glory,
כִּֽי רָצ֣וּ עֲ֭בָדֶי/ךָ אֶת אֲבָנֶ֑י/הָ וְֽ/אֶת עֲפָרָ֥/הּ יְחֹנֵֽנוּ
When the LORD shall build vp Zion: he shall appeare in his glory.
GenevaWhen the Lord shall build vp Zion, and shall appeare in his glory,
וְ/יִֽירְא֣וּ ג֭וֹיִם אֶת שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וְֽ/כָל מַלְכֵ֥י הָ֝/אָ֗רֶץ אֶת כְּבוֹדֶֽ/ךָ
He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
GenevaAnd shall turne vnto the prayer of the desolate, and not despise their prayer.
כִּֽי בָנָ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה צִיּ֑וֹן נִ֝רְאָ֗ה בִּ/כְבוֹדֽ/וֹ
This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created, shall praise the LORD.
GenevaThis shall be written for the generation to come: and the people, which shalbe created, shall prayse the Lord.
פָּ֭נָה אֶל תְּפִלַּ֣ת הָ/עַרְעָ֑ר וְ/לֹֽא בָ֝זָ֗ה אֶת תְּפִלָּתָֽ/ם
For hee hath looked downe from the height of his Sanctuarie: from heauen did the LORD beholde the earth:

תִּכָּ֣תֶב זֹ֭את לְ/ד֣וֹר אַחֲר֑וֹן וְ/עַ֥ם נִ֝בְרָ֗א יְהַלֶּל יָֽהּ
To heare the groning of the prisoner: to loose those that are appointed to death:
GenevaThat he might heare the mourning of the prisoner, and deliuer the children of death:
כִּֽי הִ֭שְׁקִיף מִ/מְּר֣וֹם קָדְשׁ֑/וֹ יְ֝הוָ֗ה מִ/שָּׁמַ֤יִם אֶל אֶ֬רֶץ הִבִּֽיט
To declare the Name of the LORD in Zion: and his praise in Ierusalem:
GenevaThat they may declare the Name of the Lord in Zion, and his prayse in Ierusalem,
לִ֭/שְׁמֹעַ אֶנְקַ֣ת אָסִ֑יר לְ֝/פַתֵּ֗חַ בְּנֵ֣י תְמוּתָֽה
When the people are gathered together: and the kingdomes to serue the LORD.
GenevaWhen the people shalbe gathered together, and the kingdomes to serue the Lord.
לְ/סַפֵּ֣ר בְּ֭/צִיּוֹן שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וּ֝/תְהִלָּת֗/וֹ בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם
He weakened my strength in the way: he shortened my dayes.
GenevaHe abated my strength in the way, and shortened my dayes.
בְּ/הִקָּבֵ֣ץ עַמִּ֣ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וּ֝/מַמְלָכ֗וֹת לַ/עֲבֹ֥ד אֶת יְהוָֽה
I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my dayes: thy yeres are throughout all generations.
GenevaAnd I sayd, O my God, take me not away in the middes of my dayes: thy yeeres endure from generation to generation.
עִנָּ֖ה בַ/דֶּ֥רֶךְ כח/ו קִצַּ֥ר יָמָֽ/י
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heauens are the worke of thy hands.
GenevaThou hast aforetime layde the foundation of the earth, and the heauens are the worke of thine hands.
אֹמַ֗ר אֵלִ֗/י אַֽל תַּ֭עֲלֵ/נִי בַּ/חֲצִ֣י יָמָ֑/י בְּ/ד֖וֹר דּוֹרִ֣ים שְׁנוֹתֶֽי/ךָ
They shall perish, but thou shalt indure, yea all of them shall waxe old like a garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shalbe changed.
GenevaThey shall perish, but thou shalt endure: euen they all shall waxe olde as doeth a garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.
לְ֭/פָנִים הָ/אָ֣רֶץ יָסַ֑דְתָּ וּֽ/מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יָדֶ֣י/ךָ שָׁמָֽיִם
But thou art the same: and thy yeeres shall haue no end.
GenevaBut thou art the same, and thy yeeres shall not fayle.
הֵ֤מָּה יֹאבֵדוּ֮ וְ/אַתָּ֪ה תַ֫עֲמֹ֥ד וְ֭/כֻלָּ/ם כַּ/בֶּ֣גֶד יִבְל֑וּ כַּ/לְּב֖וּשׁ תַּחֲלִיפֵ֣/ם וְֽ/יַחֲלֹֽפוּ
The children of thy seruants shal continue: and their seed shall be established before thee.
