Chapter 124
Psalms 124
A Song of degrees of David.
If it had not bene the LORD who was on our side: nowe may Israel say:
GenevaA song of degrees, or Psalme of David. If the Lord had not bene on our side, (may Israel now say)
שִׁ֥יר הַֽ/מַּעֲל֗וֹת לְ/דָ֫וִ֥ד לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁ/הָ֣יָה לָ֑/נוּ יֹֽאמַר נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
If it had not bene the LORD, who was on our side, when men rose vp against vs:
GenevaIf the Lord had not bene on our side, when men rose vp against vs,
לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁ/הָ֣יָה לָ֑/נוּ בְּ/ק֖וּם עָלֵ֣י/נוּ אָדָֽם
Then they had swallowed vs vp quicke: when their wrath was kindled against vs.
GenevaThey had then swallowed vs vp quicke, when their wrath was kindled against vs.
אֲ֭זַי חַיִּ֣ים בְּלָע֑וּ/נוּ בַּ/חֲר֖וֹת אַפָּ֣/ם בָּֽ/נוּ
Then the waters had ouerwhelmed vs; the streame had gone ouer our soule.
GenevaThen the waters had drowned vs, and the streame had gone ouer our soule:
אֲ֭זַי הַ/מַּ֣יִם שְׁטָפ֑וּ/נוּ נַ֗֜חְלָ/ה עָבַ֥ר עַל נַפְשֵֽׁ/נוּ
Then the proud waters had gone ouer our soule.
GenevaThen had the swelling waters gone ouer our soule.
אֲ֭זַי עָבַ֣ר עַל נַפְשֵׁ֑/נוּ הַ֝/מַּ֗יִם הַ/זֵּֽידוֹנִֽים
Blessed be the LORD: who hath not giuen vs as a pray to their teeth.
GenevaPraysed be the Lord, which hath not giuen vs as a praye vnto their teeth.
בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה שֶׁ/לֹּ֥א נְתָנָ֥/נוּ טֶ֝֗רֶף לְ/שִׁנֵּי/הֶֽם
Our soule is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the foulers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
GenevaOur soule is escaped, euen as a bird out of the snare of the foulers: the snare is broken, and we are deliuered.
נַפְשֵׁ֗/נוּ כְּ/צִפּ֥וֹר נִמְלְטָה֮ מִ/פַּ֪ח י֫וֹקְשִׁ֥ים הַ/פַּ֥ח נִשְׁבָּ֗ר וַ/אֲנַ֥חְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּ
Our helpe is in the name of the LORD: who made heauen and earth.
GenevaOur helpe is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
עֶ֭זְרֵ/נוּ בְּ/שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָ/אָֽרֶץ
