Psalms 45

My heart is inditing a good matter: I speake of the things which I haue made, touching the King: my tongue is the penne of a ready writer.

GenevaTo him that excelleth on Shoshannim a song of love to give instruction, committed to the sonnes of Korah. Mine heart will vtter forth a good matter: I wil intreat in my workes of the King: my tongue is as the pen of a swift writer.

לַ/מְנַצֵּ֣חַ עַל שֹׁ֭שַׁנִּים לִ/בְנֵי קֹ֑רַח מַ֝שְׂכִּ֗יל שִׁ֣יר יְדִידֹֽת

Thou art fairer then the children of men: grace is powred into thy lips: therfore God hath blessed thee for euer.

Gird thy sword vpon thy thigh, O most mightie: with thy glory and thy maiestie.

יָפְיָפִ֡יתָ מִ/בְּנֵ֬י אָדָ֗ם ה֣וּצַק חֵ֭ן בְּ/שְׂפְתוֹתֶ֑י/ךָ עַל כֵּ֤ן בֵּֽרַכְ/ךָ֖ אֱלֹהִ֣ים לְ/עוֹלָֽם

And in thy maiestie ride prosperously, because of trueth and meekenes, and righteousnesse: and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

חֲגֽוֹר חַרְבְּ/ךָ֣ עַל יָרֵ֣ךְ גִּבּ֑וֹר ה֝וֹדְ/ךָ֗ וַ/הֲדָרֶֽ/ךָ

Thine arrowes are sharpe in the heart of the Kings enemies; whereby the people fall vnder thee.

וַ/הֲדָ֬רְ/ךָ֨ צְלַ֬ח רְכַ֗ב עַֽל דְּבַר אֱ֭מֶת וְ/עַנְוָה צֶ֑דֶק וְ/תוֹרְ/ךָ֖ נוֹרָא֣וֹת יְמִינֶֽ/ךָ

Thy throne (O God) is for euer and euer: the scepter of thy kingdome is a right scepter.

חִצֶּ֗י/ךָ שְׁנ֫וּנִ֥ים עַ֭מִּים תַּחְתֶּ֣י/ךָ יִפְּל֑וּ בְּ֝/לֵ֗ב אוֹיְבֵ֥י הַ/מֶּֽלֶךְ

Thou louest righteousnesse, and hatest wickednesse: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oyle of gladnesse aboue thy fellowes.

כִּסְאֲ/ךָ֣ אֱ֭לֹהִים עוֹלָ֣ם וָ/עֶ֑ד שֵׁ֥בֶט מִ֝ישֹׁ֗ר שֵׁ֣בֶט מַלְכוּתֶֽ/ךָ

All thy garments smell of myrrhe, and aloes, and cassia: out of the Iuorie palaces, whereby they haue made thee glad.

אָהַ֣בְתָּ צֶּדֶק֮ וַ/תִּשְׂנָ֫א רֶ֥שַׁע עַל כֵּ֤ן מְשָׁחֲ/ךָ֡ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֱ֭לֹהֶי/ךָ שֶׁ֥מֶן שָׂשׂ֗וֹן מֵֽ/חֲבֵרֶֽי/ךָ

Kings daughters were among thy honourable women: vpon thy right hand did stand the Queene in golde of Ophir.

Hearken (O daughter) and consider, and incline thine eare; forget also thine owne people, and thy fathers house.

בְּנ֣וֹת מְ֭לָכִים בְּ/יִקְּרוֹתֶ֑י/ךָ נִצְּבָ֥ה שֵׁגַ֥ל לִֽ֝/ימִינְ/ךָ֗ בְּ/כֶ֣תֶם אוֹפִֽיר

So shall the king greatly desire thy beautie: for he is thy Lord, and worship thou him.

שִׁמְעִי בַ֣ת וּ֭/רְאִי וְ/הַטִּ֣י אָזְנֵ֑/ךְ וְ/שִׁכְחִ֥י עַ֝מֵּ֗/ךְ וּ/בֵ֥ית אָבִֽי/ךְ

And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift, euen the rich among the people shall intreate thy fauour.

GenevaAnd the daughter of Tyrus with the rich of the people shall doe homage before thy face with presents.

וְ/יִתְאָ֣ו הַ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ יָפְיֵ֑/ךְ כִּי ה֥וּא אֲ֝דֹנַ֗יִ/ךְ וְ/הִשְׁתַּֽחֲוִי לֽ/וֹ

The kings daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is of wrought gold.

וּ/בַֽת צֹ֨ר בְּ֭/מִנְחָה פָּנַ֥יִ/ךְ יְחַלּ֗וּ עֲשִׁ֣ירֵי עָֽם

She shall bee brought vnto the king in raiment of needle worke: the virgins her companions that followe her, shall be brought vnto thee.

כָּל כְּבוּדָּ֣ה בַת מֶ֣לֶךְ פְּנִ֑ימָה מִֽ/מִּשְׁבְּצ֖וֹת זָהָ֣ב לְבוּשָֽׁ/הּ

With gladnesse and reioycing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the kings palace.

In stead of thy fathers shall bee thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

I will make thy name to bee remembred in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for euer and euer.

GenevaI will make thy Name to be remembred through all generations: therefore shall the people giue thanks vnto thee world without ende.

תַּ֣חַת אֲ֭בֹתֶי/ךָ יִהְי֣וּ בָנֶ֑י/ךָ תְּשִׁיתֵ֥/מוֹ לְ֝/שָׂרִ֗ים בְּ/כָל הָ/אָֽרֶץ
