Psalms 71
In thee, O LORD, doe I put my trust, let me neuer be put to confusion.
GenevaIn thee, O Lord, I trust: let me neuer be ashamed.
בְּ/ךָֽ יְהוָ֥ה חָסִ֑יתִי אַל אֵב֥וֹשָׁה לְ/עוֹלָֽם
Deliuer mee in thy righteousnesse, and cause me to escape: incline thine eare vnto me, and saue me.

בְּ/צִדְקָתְ/ךָ֗ תַּצִּילֵ֥/נִי וּֽ/תְפַלְּטֵ֑/נִי הַטֵּֽה אֵלַ֥/י אָ֝זְנְ/ךָ֗ וְ/הוֹשִׁיעֵֽ/נִי
Bee thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast giuen commandement to saue mee, for thou art my rocke, and my fortresse.

הֱיֵ֤ה לִ֨/י לְ/צ֥וּר מָע֡וֹן לָ/ב֗וֹא תָּמִ֗יד צִוִּ֥יתָ לְ/הוֹשִׁיעֵ֑/נִי כִּֽי סַלְעִ֖/י וּ/מְצוּדָתִ֣/י אָֽתָּה
Deliuer me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the vnrighteous, and cruel man.
GenevaDeliuer mee, O my God, out of the hande of the wicked: out of the hande of the euill and cruell man.
אֱֽלֹהַ֗/י פַּ֭לְּטֵ/נִי מִ/יַּ֣ד רָשָׁ֑ע מִ/כַּ֖ף מְעַוֵּ֣ל וְ/חוֹמֵץ
For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
GenevaFor thou art mine hope, O Lord God, euen my trust from my youth.
כִּֽי אַתָּ֥ה תִקְוָתִ֑/י אֲדֹנָ֥/י יְ֝הוִ֗ה מִבְטַחִ֥/י מִ/נְּעוּרָֽ/י
By thee haue I bene holden vp from the wombe: thou art hee that tooke mee out of my mothers vowels, my praise shalbe continually of thee.
GenevaVpon thee haue I beene stayed from the wombe: thou art he that tooke me out of my mothers bowels: my praise shalbe alwaies of thee.
עָלֶ֤י/ךָ נִסְמַ֬כְתִּי מִ/בֶּ֗טֶן מִ/מְּעֵ֣י אִ֭מִּ/י אַתָּ֣ה גוֹזִ֑/י בְּ/ךָ֖ תְהִלָּתִ֣/י תָמִֽיד
I am as a wonder vnto many, but thou art my strong refuge.
GenevaI am become as it were a monster vnto many: but thou art my sure trust.
כְּ֭/מוֹפֵת הָיִ֣יתִי לְ/רַבִּ֑ים וְ֝/אַתָּ֗ה מַֽחֲסִ/י עֹֽז
Let my mouth bee filled with thy praise, and with thy honour all the day.

יִמָּ֣לֵא פִ֭/י תְּהִלָּתֶ֑/ךָ כָּל הַ֝/יּ֗וֹם תִּפְאַרְתֶּֽ/ךָ
Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

אַֽל תַּ֭שְׁלִיכֵ/נִי לְ/עֵ֣ת זִקְנָ֑ה כִּ/כְל֥וֹת כֹּ֝חִ֗/י אַֽל תַּעַזְבֵֽ/נִי
For mine enemies speake against mee: and they that lay waite for my soule, take counsell together,

כִּֽי אָמְר֣וּ אוֹיְבַ֣/י לִ֑/י וְ/שֹׁמְרֵ֥י נַ֝פְשִׁ֗/י נוֹעֲצ֥וּ יַחְדָּֽו
Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him, for there is none to deliuer him.

לֵ֭/אמֹר אֱלֹהִ֣ים עֲזָב֑/וֹ רִֽדְפ֥וּ וְ֝/תִפְשׂ֗וּ/הוּ כִּי אֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל
O God, be not farre from mee: O my God, make haste for my helpe.
GenevaGoe not farre from me, O God: my God, haste thee to helpe me.
אֱ֭לֹהִים אַל תִּרְחַ֣ק מִמֶּ֑/נִּי אֱ֝לֹהַ֗/י לְ/עֶזְרָ֥תִ/י חיש/ה
Let them be confounded and consumed, that are aduersaries to my soule: let them bee couered with reproch and dishonour, that seeke my hurt.

יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ יִכְלוּ֮ שֹׂטְנֵ֪י נַ֫פְשִׁ֥/י יַֽעֲט֣וּ חֶ֭רְפָּה וּ/כְלִמָּ֑ה מְ֝בַקְשֵׁ֗י רָעָתִֽ/י
But I wil hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

וַ֭/אֲנִי תָּמִ֣יד אֲיַחֵ֑ל וְ֝/הוֹסַפְתִּ֗י עַל כָּל תְּהִלָּתֶֽ/ךָ
My mouth shall shew foorth thy righteousnesse, and thy saluation all the day: for I know not the numbers thereof.
GenevaMy mouth shall daily rehearse thy righteousnesse, and thy saluation: for I knowe not the nomber.
פִּ֤/י יְסַפֵּ֬ר צִדְקָתֶ֗/ךָ כָּל הַ/יּ֥וֹם תְּשׁוּעָתֶ֑/ךָ כִּ֤י לֹ֖א יָדַ֣עְתִּי סְפֹרֽוֹת
I will goe in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousnesse, euen of thine onely.

אָב֗וֹא בִּ֭/גְבֻרוֹת אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה אַזְכִּ֖יר צִדְקָתְ/ךָ֣ לְ/בַדֶּֽ/ךָ
O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto haue I declared thy wonderous workes.
GenevaO God, thou hast taught me from my youth euen vntill nowe: therefore will I tell of thy wonderous workes,
אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים לִמַּדְתַּ֥/נִי מִ/נְּעוּרָ֑/י וְ/עַד הֵ֝֗נָּה אַגִּ֥יד נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽי/ךָ
Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not: vntill I haue shewed thy strength vnto this generation, and thy power to euery one that is to come.
GenevaYea, euen vnto mine olde age and graie head, O God: forsake me not, vntill I haue declared thine arme vnto this generation, and thy power to all them, that shall come.
וְ/גַ֤ם עַד זִקְנָ֨ה וְ/שֵׂיבָה֮ אֱלֹהִ֪ים אַֽל תַּעַ֫זְבֵ֥/נִי עַד אַגִּ֣יד זְרוֹעֲ/ךָ֣ לְ/ד֑וֹר לְ/כָל יָ֝ב֗וֹא גְּבוּרָתֶֽ/ךָ
Thy righteousnes also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like vnto thee?
GenevaAnd thy righteousnes, O God, I wil exalt on high: for thou hast done great thinges: O God, who is like vnto thee!
וְ/צִדְקָתְ/ךָ֥ אֱלֹהִ֗ים עַד מָ֫ר֥וֹם אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂ֥יתָ גְדֹל֑וֹת אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים מִ֣י כָמֽוֹ/ךָ
Thou which hast shewed mee great, and sore troubles, shalt quicken mee againe, and shalt bring mee vp againe from the depthes of the earth.
GenevaWhich hast shewed me great troubles and aduersities, but thou wilt returne, and reuiue me, and wilt come againe, and take mee vp from the depth of the earth.
אֲשֶׁ֤ר הראית/נו צָר֥וֹת רַבּ֗וֹת וְ/רָ֫ע֥וֹת תָּשׁ֥וּב תחיי/נו וּֽ/מִ/תְּהֹמ֥וֹת הָ֝/אָ֗רֶץ תָּשׁ֥וּב תַּעֲלֵֽ/נִי
Thou shalt increase my greatnesse, and comfort me on euery side.
GenevaThou wilt increase mine honour, and returne and comfort me.
תֶּ֤רֶב גְּֽדֻלָּתִ֗/י וְ/תִסֹּ֥ב תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽ/נִי
I will also praise thee with the psalterie, euen thy trueth, O my God: vnto thee will I sing withthe harpe, O thou Holy one of Israel.
GenevaTherefore will I praise thee for thy faithfulnesse, O God, vpon instrument and viole: vnto thee will I sing vpon the harpe, O Holy one of Israel.
גַּם אֲנִ֤י אוֹדְ/ךָ֣ בִ/כְלִי נֶבֶל֮ אֲמִתְּ/ךָ֪ אֱלֹ֫הָ֥/י אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה לְ/ךָ֣ בְ/כִנּ֑וֹר קְ֝ד֗וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
My lippes shall greatly reioyce when I sing vnto thee: and my soule, which thou hast redeemed.
GenevaMy lippes will reioyce when I sing vnto thee, and my soule, which thou hast deliuered.
תְּרַנֵּ֣נָּ֣ה שְׂ֭פָתַ/י כִּ֣י אֲזַמְּרָה לָּ֑/ךְ וְ֝/נַפְשִׁ֗/י אֲשֶׁ֣ר פָּדִֽיתָ
My tongue also shall talke of thy righteousnesse all the day long: for they are confounded, forthey are brought vnto shame, that seeke my hurt.
GenevaMy tongue also shall talke of thy righteousnesse daily: for they are confounded and brought vnto shame, that seeke mine hurt.
גַּם לְשׁוֹנִ֗/י כָּל הַ֭/יּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּ֣ה צִדְקָתֶ֑/ךָ כִּי בֹ֥שׁוּ כִֽי חָ֝פְר֗וּ מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י רָעָתִֽ/י
