Psalms 75

Unto thee, O God, doe we giue thankes, vnto thee doe we giue thanks: for that thy name is nere, thy wonderous works declare.

GenevaTo him that excelleth. Destroy not. A Psalme or song committed toAsaph. We will prayse thee, O God, we will prayse thee, for thy Name is neere: therefore they will declare thy wonderous workes.

לַ/מְנַצֵּ֥חַ אַל תַּשְׁחֵ֑ת מִזְמ֖וֹר לְ/אָסָ֣ף שִֽׁיר

When I shall receiue the congregation, I will iudge vprightly.

GenevaWhen I shall take a conuenient time, I will iudge righteously.

ה֘וֹדִ֤ינוּ לְּ/ךָ֨ אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים ה֭וֹדִינוּ וְ/קָר֣וֹב שְׁמֶ֑/ךָ סִ֝פְּר֗וּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽי/ךָ

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolued: I beare vp the pillars of it. Selah.

כִּ֭י אֶקַּ֣ח מוֹעֵ֑ד אֲ֝נִ֗י מֵישָׁרִ֥ים אֶשְׁפֹּֽט

I said vnto the fooles, Deale not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not vp the horne.

GenevaI saide vnto the foolish, Be not so foolish, and to the wicked, Lift not vp the horne.

נְֽמֹגִ֗ים אֶ֥רֶץ וְ/כָל יֹשְׁבֶ֑י/הָ אָנֹכִ֨י תִכַּ֖נְתִּי עַמּוּדֶ֣י/הָ סֶּֽלָה

Lift not vp your horne on high: speake not with a stiffe necke.

אָמַ֣רְתִּי לַֽ֭/הוֹלְלִים אַל תָּהֹ֑לּוּ וְ֝/לָ/רְשָׁעִ֗ים אַל תָּרִ֥ימוּ קָֽרֶן

For promotion commeth neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South.

GenevaFor to come to preferment is neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South,

אַל תָּרִ֣ימוּ לַ/מָּר֣וֹם קַרְנְ/כֶ֑ם תְּדַבְּר֖וּ בְ/צַוָּ֣אר עָתָֽק

But God is the iudge: he putteth downe one, and setteth vp another.

GenevaBut God is the iudge: he maketh lowe and he maketh hie.

כִּ֤י לֹ֣א מִ֭/מּוֹצָא וּ/מִֽ/מַּעֲרָ֑ב וְ֝/לֹ֗א מִ/מִּדְבַּ֥ר הָרִֽים

For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red: it is full of mixture, and he powreth out of the same: but the dregges thereof all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drinke them.

כִּֽי אֱלֹהִ֥ים שֹׁפֵ֑ט זֶ֥ה יַ֝שְׁפִּ֗יל וְ/זֶ֣ה יָרִֽים

But I will declare for euer; I will sing praises to the God of Iacob.

GenevaBut I will declare for euer, and sing prayses vnto the God of Iaakob.

כִּ֤י כ֪וֹס בְּֽ/יַד יְהוָ֡ה וְ/יַ֤יִן חָמַ֨ר מָ֥לֵא מֶסֶךְ֮ וַ/יַּגֵּ֪ר מִ֫/זֶּ֥ה אַךְ שְׁ֭מָרֶי/הָ יִמְצ֣וּ יִשְׁתּ֑וּ כֹּ֝֗ל רִשְׁעֵי אָֽרֶץ

All the hornes of the wicked also will I cut off; but the hornes of the righteous shall be exalted.

וַ֭/אֲנִי אַגִּ֣יד לְ/עֹלָ֑ם אֲ֝זַמְּרָ֗ה לֵ/אלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב
