Ruth 4
Then went Boaz vp to the gate, and sate him downe there: and beholde, the kinseman of whome Boaz spake, came by, vnto whom he said, Ho, such a one: turne aside, sit downe here. And hee turned aside, and sate downe.

וּ/בֹ֨עַז עָלָ֣ה הַ/שַּׁעַר֮ וַ/יֵּ֣שֶׁב שָׁם֒ וְ/הִנֵּ֨ה הַ/גֹּאֵ֤ל עֹבֵר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּר בֹּ֔עַז וַ/יֹּ֛אמֶר ס֥וּרָ/ה שְׁבָ/ה פֹּ֖ה פְּלֹנִ֣י אַלְמֹנִ֑י וַ/יָּ֖סַר וַ/יֵּשֵֽׁב
And hee tooke ten men of the Elders of the citie, and said, Sit ye downe here. And they sate downe.

וַ/יִּקַּ֞ח עֲשָׂרָ֧ה אֲנָשִׁ֛ים מִ/זִּקְנֵ֥י הָ/עִ֖יר וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁבוּ פֹ֑ה וַ/יֵּשֵֽׁבוּ
And he said vnto the kinseman: Naomi that is come againe out of the countrey of Moab, selleth a parcell of land, which was our brother Elimelechs.
GenevaAnd he said vnto ye kinsman, Naomi, that is come againe out of ye countrey of Moab, wil sell a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelechs.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר֙ לַ/גֹּאֵ֔ל חֶלְקַת֙ הַ/שָּׂדֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְ/אָחִ֖י/נוּ לֶ/אֱלִימֶ֑לֶךְ מָכְרָ֣ה נָעֳמִ֔י הַ/שָּׁ֖בָה מִ/שְּׂדֵ֥ה מוֹאָֽב
And I thought to aduertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the Elders of my people. If thou wilt redeeme it, redeeme it, but if thou wilt not redeeme it, then tell mee, that I may know: for there is none to redeeme it, besides thee, and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeeme it.
GenevaAnd I thought to aduertise thee, saying, Buy it before the assistants, and before the Elders of my people. If thou wilt redeeme it, redeeme it: but if thou wilt not redeeme it, tel me: for I know that there is none besides thee to redeeme it, and I am after thee. Then he answered, I wil redeeme it.
וַ/אֲנִ֨י אָמַ֜רְתִּי אֶגְלֶ֧ה אָזְנְ/ךָ֣ לֵ/אמֹ֗ר קְ֠נֵה נֶ֥גֶד הַֽ/יֹּשְׁבִים֮ וְ/נֶ֣גֶד זִקְנֵ֣י עַמִּ/י֒ אִם תִּגְאַל֙ גְּאָ֔ל וְ/אִם לֹ֨א יִגְאַ֜ל הַגִּ֣ידָ/ה לִּ֗/י ו/אדע כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין זוּלָֽתְ/ךָ֙ לִ/גְא֔וֹל וְ/אָנֹכִ֖י אַחֲרֶ֑י/ךָ וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר אָנֹכִ֥י אֶגְאָֽל
Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitesse, the wife of the dead, to raise vp the name of the dead vpon his inheritance.

וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר בֹּ֔עַז בְּ/יוֹם קְנוֹתְ/ךָ֥ הַ/שָּׂדֶ֖ה מִ/יַּ֣ד נָעֳמִ֑י וּ֠/מֵ/אֵת ר֣וּת הַ/מּוֹאֲבִיָּ֤ה אֵֽשֶׁת הַ/מֵּת֙ קניתי לְ/הָקִ֥ים שֵׁם הַ/מֵּ֖ת עַל נַחֲלָתֽ/וֹ
¶ And the kinseman said, I cannot redeeme it for my selfe, lest I marre mine owne inheritance: redeeme thou my right to thy selfe, for I cannot redeeme it.
GenevaAnd the kinsman answered, I can not redeeme it, lest I destroy mine owne inheritance: redeeme my right to thee, for I can not redeeme it.
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר הַ/גֹּאֵ֗ל לֹ֤א אוּכַל֙ ל/גאול לִ֔/י פֶּן אַשְׁחִ֖ית אֶת נַחֲלָתִ֑/י גְּאַל לְ/ךָ֤ אַתָּה֙ אֶת גְּאֻלָּתִ֔/י כִּ֥י לֹא אוּכַ֖ל לִ/גְאֹֽל
Now this was the maner in former time in Israel, concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirme all things: a man plucked off his shooe, and gaue it to his neighbour: and this was a testimonie in Israel.

וְ/זֹאת֩ לְ/פָנִ֨ים בְּ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל עַל הַ/גְּאוּלָּ֤ה וְ/עַל הַ/תְּמוּרָה֙ לְ/קַיֵּ֣ם כָּל דָּבָ֔ר שָׁלַ֥ף אִ֛ישׁ נַעֲל֖/וֹ וְ/נָתַ֣ן לְ/רֵעֵ֑/הוּ וְ/זֹ֥את הַ/תְּעוּדָ֖ה בְּ/יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
Therfore the kinseman said vnto Boaz, Buy it for thee: so he drew off his shooe.

¶ And Boaz saide vnto the Elders, and vnto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I haue bought all that was Elimelechs, and all that was Chilions, and Mahlons, of the hande of Naomi.

וַ/יֹּאמֶר֩ בֹּ֨עַז לַ/זְּקֵנִ֜ים וְ/כָל הָ/עָ֗ם עֵדִ֤ים אַתֶּם֙ הַ/יּ֔וֹם כִּ֤י קָנִ֨יתִי֙ אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֶֽ/אֱלִימֶ֔לֶךְ וְ/אֵ֛ת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְ/כִלְי֖וֹן וּ/מַחְל֑וֹן מִ/יַּ֖ד נָעֳמִֽי
Moreouer, Ruth the Moabitesse, the wife of Mahlon, haue I purchased to be my wife, to raise vp the name of the dead vpon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

וְ/גַ֣ם אֶת ר֣וּת הַ/מֹּאֲבִיָּה֩ אֵ֨שֶׁת מַחְל֜וֹן קָנִ֧יתִי לִ֣/י לְ/אִשָּׁ֗ה לְ/הָקִ֤ים שֵׁם הַ/מֵּת֙ עַל נַ֣חֲלָת֔/וֹ וְ/לֹא יִכָּרֵ֧ת שֵׁם הַ/מֵּ֛ת מֵ/עִ֥ם אֶחָ֖י/ו וּ/מִ/שַּׁ֣עַר מְקוֹמ֑/וֹ עֵדִ֥ים אַתֶּ֖ם הַ/יּֽוֹם
And all the people that were in the gate, and the Elders said, Wee are witnesses: The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house, like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and bee famous in Bethlehem.

וַ/יֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ כָּל הָ/עָ֧ם אֲשֶׁר בַּ/שַּׁ֛עַר וְ/הַ/זְּקֵנִ֖ים עֵדִ֑ים יִתֵּן֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֶֽת הָ/אִשָּׁ֜ה הַ/בָּאָ֣ה אֶל בֵּיתֶ֗/ךָ כְּ/רָחֵ֤ל וּ/כְ/לֵאָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּנ֤וּ שְׁתֵּי/הֶם֙ אֶת בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַ/עֲשֵׂה חַ֣יִל בְּ/אֶפְרָ֔תָה וּ/קְרָא שֵׁ֖ם בְּ/בֵ֥ית לָֽחֶם
And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, ( whom Tamar bare vnto to Iudah) of the seed which the LORD shall giue thee of this yong woman.

וִ/יהִ֤י בֵֽיתְ/ךָ֙ כְּ/בֵ֣ית פֶּ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר יָלְדָ֥ה תָמָ֖ר לִֽ/יהוּדָ֑ה מִן הַ/זֶּ֗רַע אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִתֵּ֤ן יְהוָה֙ לְ/ךָ֔ מִן הַֽ/נַּעֲרָ֖ה הַ/זֹּֽאת
¶ So Boaz tooke Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in vnto her, the LORD gaue her conception, and she bare a sonne.

וַ/יִּקַּ֨ח בֹּ֤עַז אֶת רוּת֙ וַ/תְּהִי ל֣/וֹ לְ/אִשָּׁ֔ה וַ/יָּבֹ֖א אֵלֶ֑י/הָ וַ/יִּתֵּ֨ן יְהוָ֥ה לָ֛/הּ הֵרָי֖וֹן וַ/תֵּ֥לֶד בֵּֽן
And the women said vnto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD which hath not left thee this day without a kinseman, that his name may bee famous in Israel:

וַ/תֹּאמַ֤רְנָה הַ/נָּשִׁים֙ אֶֽל נָעֳמִ֔י בָּר֣וּךְ יְהוָ֔ה אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹ֣א הִשְׁבִּ֥ית לָ֛/ךְ גֹּאֵ֖ל הַ/יּ֑וֹם וְ/יִקָּרֵ֥א שְׁמ֖/וֹ בְּ/יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And he shalbe vnto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law which loueth thee, which is better to thee then seuen sonnes, hath borne him.
GenevaAnd this shall bring thy life againe, and cherish thine olde age: for thy daughter in lawe which loueth thee, hath borne vnto him, and she is better to thee then seuen sonnes.
וְ/הָ֤יָה לָ/ךְ֙ לְ/מֵשִׁ֣יב נֶ֔פֶשׁ וּ/לְ/כַלְכֵּ֖ל אֶת שֵׂיבָתֵ֑/ךְ כִּ֣י כַלָּתֵ֤/ךְ אֲֽשֶׁר אֲהֵבַ֨תֶ/ךְ֙ יְלָדַ֔תּ/וּ אֲשֶׁר הִיא֙ ט֣וֹבָה לָ֔/ךְ מִ/שִּׁבְעָ֖ה בָּנִֽים
And Naomi tooke the childe, and laid it in her bosome, and became nurse vnto it.

וַ/תִּקַּ֨ח נָעֳמִ֤י אֶת הַ/יֶּ֨לֶד֙ וַ/תְּשִׁתֵ֣/הוּ בְ/חֵיקָ֔/הּ וַ/תְּהִי ל֖/וֹ לְ/אֹמֶֽנֶת
And the women her neighbours gaue it a name, saying, There is a sonne borne to Naomi, and they called his name Obed: hee is the father of Iesse the father of Dauid.
GenevaAnd the women her neighbours gaue it a name, saying, There is a childe borne to Naomi, and called the name thereof Obed: the same was the father of Ishai, the father of Dauid.
וַ/תִּקְרֶאנָה֩ ל֨/וֹ הַ/שְּׁכֵנ֥וֹת שֵׁם֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר יֻלַּד בֵּ֖ן לְ/נָעֳמִ֑י וַ/תִּקְרֶ֤אנָֽה שְׁמ/וֹ֙ עוֹבֵ֔ד ה֥וּא אֲבִי יִשַׁ֖י אֲבִ֥י דָוִֽד
¶ Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begate Hezron,

And Amminadab begate Nahshon, and Nahshon begate Salmon,
GenevaAnd Amminadab begate Nahshon, and Nahshon begate Salmah,
וְ/עַמִּֽינָדָב֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת נַחְשׁ֔וֹן וְ/נַחְשׁ֖וֹן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת שַׂלְמָֽה
And Salmon begate Boaz, and Boaz begate Obed,
GenevaAnd Salmon begate Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
וְ/שַׂלְמוֹן֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת בֹּ֔עַז וּ/בֹ֖עַז הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת עוֹבֵֽד
And Obed begat Iesse, and Iesse begate Dauid.
