1 Kings 19
And Ahab told Iezebel all that Eliiah had done, and withall, how hee had slaine all the Prophets with the sword.

וַ/יַּגֵּ֤ד אַחְאָב֙ לְ/אִיזֶ֔בֶל אֵ֛ת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ וְ/אֵ֨ת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָרַ֛ג אֶת כָּל הַ/נְּבִיאִ֖ים בֶּ/חָֽרֶב
Then Iezebel sent a messenger vnto Eliiah, saying; So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them, by to morrow about this time.

וַ/תִּשְׁלַ֤ח אִיזֶ֨בֶל֙ מַלְאָ֔ךְ אֶל אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ לֵ/אמֹ֑ר כֹּֽה יַעֲשׂ֤וּ/ן אֱלֹהִים֙ וְ/כֹ֣ה יוֹסִפ֔וּ/ן כִּֽי כָ/עֵ֤ת מָחָר֙ אָשִׂ֣ים אֶֽת נַפְשְׁ/ךָ֔ כְּ/נֶ֖פֶשׁ אַחַ֥ד מֵ/הֶֽם
And when he saw that, hee arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Iudah, and left his seruant there.

וַ/יַּ֗רְא וַ/יָּ֨קָם֙ וַ/יֵּ֣לֶךְ אֶל נַפְשׁ֔/וֹ וַ/יָּבֹ֕א בְּאֵ֥ר שֶׁ֖בַע אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִֽ/יהוּדָ֑ה וַ/יַּנַּ֥ח אֶֽת נַעֲר֖/וֹ שָֽׁם
¶ But he himselfe went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and came and sate downe vnder a Iuniper tree: and hee requested for himselfe that hee might die, and sayd, It is enough, now O LORD, take away my life: for I am not better then my fathers.

וְ/הֽוּא הָלַ֤ךְ בַּ/מִּדְבָּר֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ י֔וֹם וַ/יָּבֹ֕א וַ/יֵּ֕שֶׁב תַּ֖חַת רֹ֣תֶם אחת וַ/יִּשְׁאַ֤ל אֶת נַפְשׁ/וֹ֙ לָ/מ֔וּת וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר רַ֗ב עַתָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ קַ֣ח נַפְשִׁ֔/י כִּֽי לֹא ט֥וֹב אָנֹכִ֖י מֵ/אֲבֹתָֽ/י
And as hee lay and slept vnder a Iuniper tree, behold then, an Angel touched him, and sayd vnto him, Arise, and eate.

וַ/יִּשְׁכַּב֙ וַ/יִּישַׁ֔ן תַּ֖חַת רֹ֣תֶם אֶחָ֑ד וְ/הִנֵּֽה זֶ֤ה מַלְאָךְ֙ נֹגֵ֣עַ בּ֔/וֹ וַ/יֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖/וֹ ק֥וּם אֱכֽוֹל
And he looked, and behold, there was a cake baken on the coales, and a cruse of water at his head: and hee did eate and drinke, and laide him downe againe.

וַ/יַּבֵּ֕ט וְ/הִנֵּ֧ה מְרַאֲשֹׁתָ֛י/ו עֻגַ֥ת רְצָפִ֖ים וְ/צַפַּ֣חַת מָ֑יִם וַ/יֹּ֣אכַל וַ/יֵּ֔שְׁתְּ וַ/יָּ֖שָׁב וַ/יִּשְׁכָּֽב
And the Angel of the LORD came againe the second time, and touched him, and sayd, Arise, and eate, because the iourney is too great for thee.

וַ/יָּשָׁב֩ מַלְאַ֨ךְ יְהוָ֤ה שֵׁנִית֙ וַ/יִּגַּע בּ֔/וֹ וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר ק֣וּם אֱכֹ֑ל כִּ֛י רַ֥ב מִמְּ/ךָ֖ הַ/דָּֽרֶךְ
And hee arose, and did eate and drinke, and went in the strength of that meate fourtie dayes and fourtie nights, vnto Horeb the mount of God.

וַ/יָּ֖קָם וַ/יֹּ֣אכַל וַ/יִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה וַ/יֵּ֜לֶךְ בְּ/כֹ֣חַ הָ/אֲכִילָ֣ה הַ/הִ֗יא אַרְבָּעִ֥ים יוֹם֙ וְ/אַרְבָּעִ֣ים לַ֔יְלָה עַ֛ד הַ֥ר הָ/אֱלֹהִ֖ים חֹרֵֽב
¶ And he came thither vnto a caue, and lodged there, and behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said vnto him, What doest thou here, Eliiah?
GenevaAnd there he entred into a caue, and lodged there: and beholde, the Lord spake to him, and said vnto him, What doest thou here, Eliiah?
וַ/יָּבֹא שָׁ֥ם אֶל הַ/מְּעָרָ֖ה וַ/יָּ֣לֶן שָׁ֑ם וְ/הִנֵּ֤ה דְבַר יְהוָה֙ אֵלָ֔י/ו וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר ל֔/וֹ מַה לְּ/ךָ֥ פֹ֖ה אֵלִיָּֽהוּ
And hee sayd, I haue beene very iealous for the LORD God of hostes: for the children of Israel haue forsaken thy Couenant, throwen downe thine Altars, and slaine thy Prophets with the sword: and I, euen I onely am left, and they seeke my life, to take it away.

וַ/יֹּאמֶר֩ קַנֹּ֨א קִנֵּ֜אתִי לַ/יהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י צְבָא֗וֹת כִּֽי עָזְב֤וּ בְרִֽיתְ/ךָ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶת מִזְבְּחֹתֶ֣י/ךָ הָרָ֔סוּ וְ/אֶת נְבִיאֶ֖י/ךָ הָרְג֣וּ בֶ/חָ֑רֶב וָֽ/אִוָּתֵ֤ר אֲנִי֙ לְ/בַדִּ֔/י וַ/יְבַקְשׁ֥וּ אֶת נַפְשִׁ֖/י לְ/קַחְתָּֽ/הּ
And he sayd, Goe forth, and stand vpon the mount before the LORD. And beholde, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong winde rent the mountaines, and brake in pieces the rockes, before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the winde: and after the winde an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.

וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר צֵ֣א וְ/עָמַדְתָּ֣ בָ/הָר֮ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָה֒ וְ/הִנֵּ֧ה יְהוָ֣ה עֹבֵ֗ר וְ/ר֣וּחַ גְּדוֹלָ֡ה וְ/חָזָ֞ק מְפָרֵק֩ הָרִ֨ים וּ/מְשַׁבֵּ֤ר סְלָעִים֙ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה לֹ֥א בָ/ר֖וּחַ יְהוָ֑ה וְ/אַחַ֤ר הָ/ר֨וּחַ רַ֔עַשׁ לֹ֥א בָ/רַ֖עַשׁ יְהוָֽה
And after the earthquake, a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire, a still small voice.
GenevaAnd after the earthquake came fire: but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire came a still and soft voyce.
וְ/אַחַ֤ר הָ/רַ֨עַשׁ֙ אֵ֔שׁ לֹ֥א בָ/אֵ֖שׁ יְהוָ֑ה וְ/אַחַ֣ר הָ/אֵ֔שׁ ק֖וֹל דְּמָמָ֥ה דַקָּֽה
And it was so, when Eliiah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entring in of the caue: and behold, there came a voice vnto him, and sayd, What doest thou here, Eliiah?

וַ/יְהִ֣י כִּ/שְׁמֹ֣עַ אֵלִיָּ֗הוּ וַ/יָּ֤לֶט פָּנָי/ו֙ בְּ/אַדַּרְתּ֔/וֹ וַ/יֵּצֵ֕א וַֽ/יַּעֲמֹ֖ד פֶּ֣תַח הַ/מְּעָרָ֑ה וְ/הִנֵּ֤ה אֵלָי/ו֙ ק֔וֹל וַ/יֹּ֕אמֶר מַה לְּ/ךָ֥ פֹ֖ה אֵלִיָּֽהוּ

And the LORD sayd vnto him, Goe, returne on thy way to the wildernesse of Damascus: and when thou commest, anoint Hazael to be King ouer Syria.
GenevaAnd the Lord said vnto him, Goe, returne by the wildernes vnto Damascus, and when thou commest there, anoint Hazael King ouer Aram.
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֵלָ֔י/ו לֵ֛ךְ שׁ֥וּב לְ/דַרְכְּ/ךָ֖ מִדְבַּ֣רָ/ה דַמָּ֑שֶׂק וּ/בָ֗אתָ וּ/מָשַׁחְתָּ֧ אֶת חֲזָאֵ֛ל לְ/מֶ֖לֶךְ עַל אֲרָֽם
And Iehu the sonne of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to bee king ouer Israel: and Elisha the sonne of Shaphat of Abel Meholah, shalt thou annoint to be Prophet in thy roume.

And it shall come to passe, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael, shall Iehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Iehu, shall Elisha slay.

וְ/הָיָ֗ה הַ/נִּמְלָ֛ט מֵ/חֶ֥רֶב חֲזָאֵ֖ל יָמִ֣ית יֵה֑וּא וְ/הַ/נִּמְלָ֛ט מֵ/חֶ֥רֶב יֵה֖וּא יָמִ֥ית אֱלִישָֽׁע
Yet I haue left me seuen thousand in Israel, all the knees which haue not bowed vnto Baal, and euery mouth which hath not kissed him.

וְ/הִשְׁאַרְתִּ֥י בְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל שִׁבְעַ֣ת אֲלָפִ֑ים כָּל הַ/בִּרְכַּ֗יִם אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא כָֽרְעוּ֙ לַ/בַּ֔עַל וְ/כָ֨ל הַ/פֶּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא נָשַׁ֖ק לֽ/וֹ
¶ So hee departed thence and found Elisha the sonne of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelue yoke of oxen before him, and hee with the twelfth: and Eliiah passed by him, and cast his mantle vpon him.

וַ/יֵּ֣לֶךְ מִ֠/שָּׁם וַ/יִּמְצָ֞א אֶת אֱלִישָׁ֤ע בֶּן שָׁפָט֙ וְ/ה֣וּא חֹרֵ֔שׁ שְׁנֵים עָשָׂ֤ר צְמָדִים֙ לְ/פָנָ֔י/ו וְ/ה֖וּא בִּ/שְׁנֵ֣ים הֶ/עָשָׂ֑ר וַ/יַּעֲבֹ֤ר אֵלִיָּ֨הוּ֙ אֵלָ֔י/ו וַ/יַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְ אַדַּרְתּ֖/וֹ אֵלָֽי/ו
And he left the oxen, and ranne after Eliiah, and said, Let mee, I pray thee, kisse my father and my mother, and then I wil follow thee: and he said vnto him, Goe backe againe; for what haue I done to thee?

וַ/יַּעֲזֹ֣ב אֶת הַ/בָּקָ֗ר וַ/יָּ֨רָץ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י אֵֽלִיָּ֔הוּ וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר אֶשְּׁקָה נָּא֙ לְ/אָבִ֣/י וּ/לְ/אִמִּ֔/י וְ/אֵלְכָ֖ה אַחֲרֶ֑י/ךָ וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר ל/וֹ֙ לֵ֣ךְ שׁ֔וּב כִּ֥י מֶה עָשִׂ֖יתִי לָֽ/ךְ
And he returned backe from him, and tooke a yoke of oxen, & slew them, and boyled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gaue vnto the people, and they did eat: then he arose, and went after Eliiah, and ministred vnto him.
GenevaAnd when he went backe againe from him, he tooke a couple of oxen, and slewe them, and sod their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gaue vnto the people, and they did eate: then he arose and went after Eliiah, and ministred vnto him.
וַ/יָּ֨שָׁב מֵ/אַחֲרָ֜י/ו וַ/יִּקַּ֣ח אֶת צֶ֧מֶד הַ/בָּקָ֣ר וַ/יִּזְבָּחֵ֗/הוּ וּ/בִ/כְלִ֤י הַ/בָּקָר֙ בִּשְּׁלָ֣/ם הַ/בָּשָׂ֔ר וַ/יִּתֵּ֥ן לָ/עָ֖ם וַ/יֹּאכֵ֑לוּ וַ/יָּ֗קָם וַ/יֵּ֛לֶךְ אַחֲרֵ֥י אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ וַ/יְשָׁרְתֵֽ/הוּ
