Proverbs 10
The Prouerbes of Solomon: A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is the heauinesse of his mother.

מִשְׁלֵ֗י שְׁלֹ֫מֹ֥ה בֵּ֣ן חָ֭כָם יְשַׂמַּח אָ֑ב וּ/בֵ֥ן כְּ֝סִ֗יל תּוּגַ֥ת אִמּֽ/וֹ
Treasures of wickednesse profit nothing: but righteousnes deliuereth from death.

לֹא י֭וֹעִילוּ אוֹצְר֣וֹת רֶ֑שַׁע וּ֝/צְדָקָ֗ה תַּצִּ֥יל מִ/מָּֽוֶת
The LORD will not suffer the soule of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

לֹֽא יַרְעִ֣יב יְ֭הוָה נֶ֣פֶשׁ צַדִּ֑יק וְ/הַוַּ֖ת רְשָׁעִ֣ים יֶהְדֹּֽף
Hee becommeth poore that dealeth with a slacke hand: but the hand of the diligent, maketh rich.
GenevaA slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
רָ֗אשׁ עֹשֶׂ֥ה כַף רְמִיָּ֑ה וְ/יַ֖ד חָרוּצִ֣ים תַּעֲשִֽׁיר
Hee that gathereth in Summer, is a wise sonne: but hee that sleepeth in haruest, is a sonne that causeth shame.
GenevaHe that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
אֹגֵ֣ר בַּ֭/קַּיִץ בֵּ֣ן מַשְׂכִּ֑יל נִרְדָּ֥ם בַּ֝/קָּצִ֗יר בֵּ֣ן מֵבִֽישׁ
Blessings are vpon the head of the iust: but violence couereth the mouth of the wicked.
GenevaBlessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
בְּ֭רָכוֹת לְ/רֹ֣אשׁ צַדִּ֑יק וּ/פִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יְכַסֶּ֥ה חָמָֽס
The memorie of the iust is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
GenevaThe memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
זֵ֣כֶר צַ֭דִּיק לִ/בְרָכָ֑ה וְ/שֵׁ֖ם רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִרְקָֽב
The wise in heart will receiue commaundements: but a prating foole shall fall.
GenevaThe wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
חֲכַם לֵ֭ב יִקַּ֣ח מִצְוֺ֑ת וֶ/אֱוִ֥יל שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם יִלָּבֵֽט
He that walketh vprightly, walketh surely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.

הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בַּ֭/תֹּם יֵ֣לֶךְ בֶּ֑טַח וּ/מְעַקֵּ֥שׁ דְּ֝רָכָ֗י/ו יִוָּדֵֽעַ
Hee that winketh with the eye, causeth sorrow: but a prating foole shall fall.
GenevaHe that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
קֹ֣רֵֽץ עַ֭יִן יִתֵּ֣ן עַצָּ֑בֶת וֶ/אֱוִ֥יל שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם יִלָּבֵֽט
The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence couereth the mouth of the wicked.
GenevaThe mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
מְק֣וֹר חַ֭יִּים פִּ֣י צַדִּ֑יק וּ/פִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יְכַסֶּ֥ה חָמָֽס
Hatred stirreth vp strifes: but loue couereth all sinnes.
GenevaHatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
שִׂ֭נְאָה תְּעוֹרֵ֣ר מְדָנִ֑ים וְ/עַ֥ל כָּל פְּ֝שָׁעִ֗ים תְּכַסֶּ֥ה אַהֲבָֽה
In the lips of him that hath vnderstanding, wisedome is found: but a rod is for the backe of him that is voyd of vnderstanding.
GenevaIn the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
בְּ/שִׂפְתֵ֣י נָ֭בוֹן תִּמָּצֵ֣א חָכְמָ֑ה וְ֝/שֵׁ֗בֶט לְ/גֵ֣ו חֲסַר לֵֽב
Wise men lay vp knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is neere destruction.
GenevaWise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
חֲכָמִ֥ים יִצְפְּנוּ דָ֑עַת וּ/פִֽי אֱ֝וִיל מְחִתָּ֥ה קְרֹבָֽה
The rich mans wealth is his strong citie: the destruction of the poore is their pouertie.
GenevaThe riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
ה֣וֹן עָ֭שִׁיר קִרְיַ֣ת עֻזּ֑/וֹ מְחִתַּ֖ת דַּלִּ֣ים רֵישָֽׁ/ם
The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruite of the wicked to sinne.
GenevaThe labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
פְּעֻלַּ֣ת צַדִּ֣יק לְ/חַיִּ֑ים תְּבוּאַ֖ת רָשָׁ֣ע לְ/חַטָּֽאת
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but hee that refuseth reproofe, erreth.
GenevaHe that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
אֹ֣רַח לְ֭/חַיִּים שׁוֹמֵ֣ר מוּסָ֑ר וְ/עוֹזֵ֖ב תּוֹכַ֣חַת מַתְעֶֽה
Hee that hideth hatred with lying lippes, and he that vttereth a slander, is a foole.
GenevaHe that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
מְכַסֶּ֣ה שִׂ֭נְאָה שִׂפְתֵי שָׁ֑קֶר וּ/מוֹצִ֥א דִ֝בָּ֗ה ה֣וּא כְסִֽיל
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sinne: but he that refraineth his lippes, is wise.
GenevaIn many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
בְּ/רֹ֣ב דְּ֭בָרִים לֹ֣א יֶחְדַּל פָּ֑שַׁע וְ/חֹשֵׂ֖ךְ שְׂפָתָ֣י/ו מַשְׂכִּֽיל
The tongue of the iust is as choise siluer: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
GenevaThe tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
כֶּ֣סֶף נִ֭בְחָר לְשׁ֣וֹן צַדִּ֑יק לֵ֖ב רְשָׁעִ֣ים כִּ/מְעָֽט
The lippes of the righteous feed many: but fooles die for want of wisedome.
GenevaThe lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
שִׂפְתֵ֣י צַ֭דִּיק יִרְע֣וּ רַבִּ֑ים וֶֽ֝/אֱוִילִ֗ים בַּ/חֲסַר לֵ֥ב יָמֽוּתוּ
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and hee addeth no sorrow with it.
GenevaThe blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
בִּרְכַּ֣ת יְ֭הוָה הִ֣יא תַעֲשִׁ֑יר וְ/לֹֽא יוֹסִ֖ף עֶ֣צֶב עִמָּֽ/הּ
It is as a sport to a foole to doe mischiefe: but a man of vnderstanding hath wisedome.
GenevaIt is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
כִּ/שְׂח֣וֹק לִ֭/כְסִיל עֲשׂ֣וֹת זִמָּ֑ה וְ֝/חָכְמָ֗ה לְ/אִ֣ישׁ תְּבוּנָֽה
The feare of the wicked, it shall come vpon him: but the desire of the righteous shalbe granted.
GenevaThat which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
מְגוֹרַ֣ת רָ֭שָׁע הִ֣יא תְבוֹאֶ֑/נּוּ וְ/תַאֲוַ֖ת צַדִּיקִ֣ים יִתֵּֽן
As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an euerlasting foundation.

כַּ/עֲב֣וֹר ס֭וּפָה וְ/אֵ֣ין רָשָׁ֑ע וְ֝/צַדִּ֗יק יְס֣וֹד עוֹלָֽם
As vineger to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

כַּ/חֹ֤מֶץ לַ/שִּׁנַּ֗יִם וְ/כֶ/עָשָׁ֥ן לָ/עֵינָ֑יִם כֵּ֥ן הֶ֝/עָצֵ֗ל לְ/שֹׁלְחָֽי/ו
The feare of the LORD prolongeth dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe shortened.
GenevaThe feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה תּוֹסִ֣יף יָמִ֑ים וּ/שְׁנ֖וֹת רְשָׁעִ֣ים תִּקְצֹֽרְנָה
The hope of the righteous shall bee gladnesse: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
GenevaThe patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
תּוֹחֶ֣לֶת צַדִּיקִ֣ים שִׂמְחָ֑ה וְ/תִקְוַ֖ת רְשָׁעִ֣ים תֹּאבֵֽד
The way of the LORD is strength to the vpright: but destruction shall bee to the workers of iniquitie.
GenevaThe way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
מָע֣וֹז לַ֭/תֹּם דֶּ֣רֶךְ יְהוָ֑ה וּ֝/מְחִתָּ֗ה לְ/פֹ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן
The righteous shall neuer bee remooued: but the wicked shall not inhabite the earth.
GenevaThe righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
צַדִּ֣יק לְ/עוֹלָ֣ם בַּל יִמּ֑וֹט וּ֝/רְשָׁעִ֗ים לֹ֣א יִשְׁכְּנוּ אָֽרֶץ
The mouth of the iust bringeth foorth wisedome: but the froward tongue shalbe cut out.
GenevaThe mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
פִּֽי צַ֭דִּיק יָנ֣וּב חָכְמָ֑ה וּ/לְשׁ֥וֹן תַּ֝הְפֻּכ֗וֹת תִּכָּרֵֽת
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardnesse.
GenevaThe lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
שִׂפְתֵ֣י צַ֭דִּיק יֵדְע֣וּ/ן רָצ֑וֹן וּ/פִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים תַּהְפֻּכֽוֹת
