Psalms 17
A Prayer of David.
Heare the right, O LORD, attend vnto my crie, giue eare vnto my prayer, that goeth not out of fained lips.
GenevaThe prayer of Dauid. Heare the right, O Lord, consider my crye: hearken vnto my prayer of lips vnfained.
תְּפִלָּ֗ה לְ/דָ֫וִ֥ד שִׁמְעָ֤/ה יְהוָ֨ה צֶ֗דֶק הַקְשִׁ֥יבָ/ה רִנָּתִ֗/י הַאֲזִ֥ינָ/ה תְפִלָּתִ֑/י בְּ֝/לֹ֗א שִׂפְתֵ֥י מִרְמָֽה
Let my sentence come forth from thy presence: let thine eyes beholde the things that are equall.

מִ֭/לְּ/פָנֶי/ךָ מִשְׁפָּטִ֣/י יֵצֵ֑א עֵ֝ינֶ֗י/ךָ תֶּחֱזֶ֥ינָה מֵישָׁרִֽים
Thou hast prooued mine heart, thou hast visited me in the night, thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing: I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgresse.
GenevaThou hast prooued and visited mine heart in the night: thou hast tryed me, and foundest nothing: for I was purposed that my mouth should not offend.
בָּ֘חַ֤נְתָּ לִבִּ֨/י פָּ֘קַ֤דְתָּ לַּ֗יְלָה צְרַפְתַּ֥/נִי בַל תִּמְצָ֑א זַ֝מֹּתִ֗י בַּל יַעֲבָר פִּֽ/י
Concerning the workes of men, by the word of thy lips, I haue kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

לִ/פְעֻלּ֣וֹת אָ֭דָם בִּ/דְבַ֣ר שְׂפָתֶ֑י/ךָ אֲנִ֥י שָׁ֝מַ֗רְתִּי אָרְח֥וֹת פָּרִֽיץ
Hold vp my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
GenevaStay my steps in thy paths, that my feete doe not slide.
תָּמֹ֣ךְ אֲ֭שֻׁרַ/י בְּ/מַעְגְּלוֹתֶ֑י/ךָ בַּל נָמ֥וֹטּוּ פְעָמָֽ/י
I haue called vpon thee, for thou wilt heare me, O God: incline thine eare vnto me, and heare my speach.

אֲנִֽי קְרָאתִ֣י/ךָ כִֽי תַעֲנֵ֣/נִי אֵ֑ל הַֽט אָזְנְ/ךָ֥ לִ֝֗/י שְׁמַ֣ע אִמְרָתִֽ/י
Shewe thy marueilous louing kindnesse, O thou that sauest by thy right hand, them which put their trust in thee, frō those that rise vp against them.
GenevaShewe thy marueilous mercies, thou that art the Sauiour of them that trust in thee, from such as resist thy right hand.
הַפְלֵ֣ה חֲ֭סָדֶי/ךָ מוֹשִׁ֣יעַ חוֹסִ֑ים מִ֝/מִּתְקוֹמְמִ֗ים בִּֽ/ימִינֶֽ/ךָ
Keepe me as the apple of the eye: hide mee vnder the shadowe of thy wings,

From the wicked that oppresse me, from my deadly enemies, who compasse me about.

מִ/פְּנֵ֣י רְ֭שָׁעִים ז֣וּ שַׁדּ֑וּ/נִי אֹיְבַ֥/י בְּ֝/נֶ֗פֶשׁ יַקִּ֥יפוּ עָלָֽ/י
They are inclosed in their owne fat: with their mouth they speake proudly.

חֶלְבָּ֥/מוֹ סָּגְר֑וּ פִּ֝֗י/מוֹ דִּבְּר֥וּ בְ/גֵאֽוּת
They haue now compassed vs in our steps: they haue set their eyes bowing downe to the earth:

אַ֭שֻּׁרֵי/נוּ עַתָּ֣ה סבבו/ני עֵינֵי/הֶ֥ם יָ֝שִׁ֗יתוּ לִ/נְט֥וֹת בָּ/אָֽרֶץ
Like as a lyon that is greedie of his pray, and as it were a yong lyon lurking in secret places.

דִּמְיֹנ֗/וֹ כְּ֭/אַרְיֵה יִכְס֣וֹף לִ/טְר֑וֹף וְ֝/כִ/כְפִ֗יר יֹשֵׁ֥ב בְּ/מִסְתָּרִֽים
Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him downe: deliuer my soule from the wicked, which is thy sword:

קוּמָ֤/ה יְהוָ֗ה קַדְּמָ֣/ה פָ֭נָי/ו הַכְרִיעֵ֑/הוּ פַּלְּטָ֥/ה נַ֝פְשִׁ֗/י מֵ/רָשָׁ֥ע חַרְבֶּֽ/ךָ
From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which haue their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: They are full of children, and leaue the rest of their substance to their babes.

מִֽ/מְתִ֥ים יָדְ/ךָ֨ יְהוָ֡ה מִֽ/מְתִ֬ים מֵ/חֶ֗לֶד חֶלְקָ֥/ם בַּֽ/חַיִּים֮ ו/צפינ/ך תְּמַלֵּ֪א בִ֫טְנָ֥/ם יִשְׂבְּע֥וּ בָנִ֑ים וְ/הִנִּ֥יחוּ יִ֝תְרָ֗/ם לְ/עוֹלְלֵי/הֶֽם
As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousnesse: I shall bee satisfied, when I awake, with thy likenesse.
